    It's a shame UPS gets bad review because they are the best courier there is. Although a bit more expensive then others, the service is great and they are not the sort of courier to just throw your parcel everywhere (look inside a UPS delivery van)

    UPS takes an inexplicably long amount of time to deliver items. The tracking information for a package I was waiting for said "out for delivery" and it was leaving a location about 15 minutes from my house. That was at 5:30 this morning. It is now 6 at night. Where is my package? This happens ALL the time.     Ups is by far the worst shipping company you can pick. They are very slow, have unprefeshional staff, and some items come broken. I ordered somthing on May 4th and got it on May 25th! Do not use Ups if you want your things to be shipped fast and not broken!

    A week before Christmas, we paid $32 for UPS 3-day delivery of a small package of gifts. The gift arrived 8 days late, at which time I was working overseas and lacked access to UPS tracking. When we got back, we filed for a refund, but we were told that we had missed, by one day, the 15-day limit for filing such claims.     Our company will never use UPS again. Their reporting systems are poor, as are their customer services. Refuse to properly inspect goods damaged in transit - even though the box was badly damaged and opened on arrival they refuse to accept that it could have been dropped. I even took this matter to the MD of the UK UPS office and even that could not get a proper inspection of damaged good.

    I can't normally be bothered to take the time to write on these forums, and this is the first time I do - that's how angry UPS have made me.

    Very stressful experience - I will avoid using them at all costs. They admitted they were at fault, but 4wks and 8 phone calls later still waiting for a refund and an apology.

    I found DHL to be much better

    I've ordered 3 items through UPS from Pixmania and as pix service was brilliant everything failed after dispatch. 24-48 hour service? maybe somewhere, but not for me (3 times). It's like you pay more for the same service as standard post or Parcelforce etc. I get ALL products and thanks not to UPS but to my trusted neighbour who collected that (without my permission in UPS documents) and signed it.     Very poor service from UPS and not interested in the customer at all, did not deliver on time, informed them of change of delivery address and they kept on delivering the item to the first address, this went on and on for days with several telephone calls being passed around from one person to the next. Asked for compensation they said the customer is not covered for any conseguential losses whatsoever.Totally incopotent in my opinion.

    Why oh why do they send their drivers out without being able to contact them? The only answer we get when we try to find where the delivery is is "It's a relief driver and we can't contact him". That is just not good enough UPS!

    Overall I use UPS for most of my shipping needs, as they are the most flexible and readily available when it comes to shipping large items.

    8/3/06 - I live in a metropolitan area out side of Boston. Delivery for everyone is an issue because the package can not be left safely at you door step. So UPS hangs on the the package, regardless of any request to "Release" it at the location. I've had several packages handled by UPS and the results are always the same.
    It is impossible to have it forwarded to my work, because it is in the next town over and out of the ground crews jurisdiction. I can put a hold on the package ...

    Never use UPS. I had a signature required package attemptd to be delivered on 10/13. I was unable to be home until 10/18. I changed the ship day on the UPS web site. After waiting most of the day for delivery I called the 800 number. They told me it should be shipped on that day. A few hours later I called again.     I requested a package delivered to my work but UPS didn't show up; so I called their call center, and they told me that they would deliver it to my home the same day by 8PM, but they didn't, and they were closed when I called them. The next day there was no delivery, I called again, and the agent told me they would deliver to my home by 8PM !!     I paid for a next day air and it did not get delivered till the 4th day. It cost $22 to mail out a few document and they charged $5 for their envelope and $1 for tracking number. It was an urgent matter and paid so much for it. Ending up it did not get there on time. I called and spoke to the manager which couldn't solve my problem and was very rude. I would not recommend this carrier to anyone. They are very expensive and bad customer service.
