Had numerous problems with Royal Mail. They are the most unreliable and uncaring service ever. No matter what the complaint is, they will try to wriggle out of any responsibility. My biggest complaint is the redelivery service (or lack of it). First of all they require 48 hours before they can redeliver or you can collect it, when you fill in the online form for the redelivery they ask for a phone number (mandatory) but despite them having problems redelivery my items did they call...NO! I sent a parcel to Estonia and it somehow ended up in Australia. I have spent over 15 minutes on the phone to customer services trying to sort it out and am having to pay for the call as they wouldn't phone me back. An 0845 number so I bet that wasn't cheap. I have been told that if the parcel is lost I can claim for the contents of the parcel but won't be reimbursed the postage. “From Hero to Zero...”

Once the best postal service in the world, now by far the worst. I noticed when selling on EBay Most of the letters I send do no get signed for. But I still getting feedback.So they must of got there and not got signed for. “Need To Shape Up”

They failed to deliver a special delivery item - again. Don't expect them to deliver Friday unless first thing. They all chill out for the weekend Friday lunch. 

The service is poor. There isn't even anyone to speak Friday 5pm - Monday. So if you don't get your parcel...tough. 

Royal Mail, you really need to shape up. You have competitors who are efficient and deliver the goods.

“Telephone request for redlivery of parcel with Royal Mail”

A non-regular postman,rather than leave my parcel with a neighbour,left the usual red bordered card for collection/redelivery. I called the number on the card ,an 0345 (££££) number only to be given the same info written on the card by the RM auto reply and rather than connecting me to the local branch, requested I look online. “Examination”

Well. my package was late, first a week, then 2. found out that it was being Examinated, Oh dear god, why me why me, i thought, but then i got the bright idea to Email them. But there was no contact to be found, ive been searching for about an hour and now ive given up. I do see the point in Examinating some packages, but this was a small one with only carton and maybe a little brass in it. And why is Xray or whatever u do taking so long? Royal Mail makes it deliberately difficult to send an email. You then click on last option "Report a problem or would like to make a complaint" and the contact form should open.

Disappointed with service , postman didn't knock door . Waited the following day to ask y he didn't knock door yesterday . He claims he did . Phoned local office to re deliver . My parcel was tampered with and my medication bottle broken . Hospital appointment letters were soaking . Utterly disgusted with in human postmen . ordered something online was expecting a 2 day wait for it to arrive,day 5 still no parcel day 6 it arrives i am not home so you would think they would try next door or leave safe if they can like (yodel) by far the best courier i have had dealings with!!,No they decide to return it to there depot 6 miles away and then i have to go collect it after queueing up for 15 minutes i will never order anything that uses the awful royal mail to deliver it!!!… Read Full Review

I posted a letter to a city in China, they say around 7 days, it can get there 1 or 2 days early or late. The price is very cheap, just over £2, and I have asked about faster or better one, but they said it will cost over £60, and it will take 5 days, so I paid lower one. “Appalling joke of a service.”

On 29 July I visited our local post office to send our niece's 5th birthday present to France. I asked for the fastest, most secure method of delivery and was advised to purchase 'Royal Mail Tracked' which should get the parcel to my niece within two - three days. They actually managed to deliver a letter to me when only my name and the name of my house were correct. The street and town name were missing and the postcode was wrong. It was the post code for the town next to mine. But Wales was mentionned in the address. The letter was posted on August 6th and I got it on 22nd. I'd say that's pretty good. Send letter with signed and tracked international. arrived in Heathrow and from there nothing, stoped, i phone to royal mail and a guy said it arrive in the country of destination and the letter has been procceded by the company in that country. Paid for special delivery next working day by 1pm 2 working days later tried to track it on Royal Mail Website & get this message. “Damaged and won't pay”

I sent my dog clipper blades to be sharpened and when they arrived they had the teeth all broken, Royal mail put a letter with them saying sincere apologies, they were bubble wrapped and in a jiffy bag and special delivery so covered by their insurance, well after many attempts they will not pay even been to the postal review process and no wont pay, please think carefully before paying this expensive service they will not pay out… Read Full Review

Use a courier company instead. An organisation with no pride in what they do, no concerns about their awful customer service or any desire to improve their performance. The only difference between, for example their 1st class, 2nd class and recorded sign for delivery, is what they charge their customers. When a recorded item is not delivered, customers have to wait for 15 days and all that Royal Mail are able to say is that prior to 15 days, item is delayed, after 15 days, item is lost.
