Good Points: I have just started using the parcel service a lot as i began to sell on Ebay and, up to now, I haven't had one go adrift and I have used a mixture of recorded and non recorded in all shapes and sizes. I do pack fragile items well though and use tape with FRAGILE on it all over the parcel!!!

Bad Points: The service you receive (or not!) at the post offices! They can be rude, unhelpful, at times not enough staff so on a busy day when you can't spare time out of the offices it drives you mad having to wait for at least 20 minutes and I feel they couldn't care, make you feel like you are being a nuisance if you bring in more than one item etc. etc.

General comments: Since Royal Mail shut down so many post offices and transferred them to W. H. Smith the service has gone down a huge amount I feel. I would always try to use the small post offices, just to keep them open, but now W.H. Smith staff (which is what they are not post office staff) really give the most atrocious service I find compared with Royal Mail. I am not sure what the agenda is with the Post Office but it's like a lot of other things in this country - gone to the dogs!!! Use your local post office or lose it!

Royal Mail are good to send parcels with cheaply, if they don't get lost! If the other person underpaid you have to pay amount to cover the parcel and £1 handling fee! It is stupid I think as paying for the item to be in their warehouse for a few hours the other person should be told to pay but we still get the item!

Royal Mail is simply one of the backbones of the UK. For a long time it had been the official organisation used by the richest and the poorest for the delivery of mail, packages and parcels.Royal Mail's standard mail delivery is outstanding. 20p (Royal Mail 1st Class standard) is what I'd pay to send a letter from the southern-most point of Britain to the northern-most point, also knowing that it will take no more than 2 days to get there. If I were a cheap-skate, I could pay 10p and know that s ...

Recently, in order to take advantage of online special promotion and offers I purchased a few items, supposed to be delivered by the Royal Mail. Of course, If nobody is at home by the time of the delivery, they leave a card where you can read the time the postman was there, the type of parcel (envelope, special delivery, packet, box) and what to do. In this case I had to ring the royal mail, spend money on a phone call to an answering machine that seems to spend more time telling you about offer ...

Royal Mail have left one stock item out in the wet weather onc, which was damaged and had to be returned requiring more paperwork than needed. They once sent back an item I wasn't made aware of at all had weeks of chasing up with them resending it to find that they where still holding it at the delivery office. Overall my experience with them is very poor lately.

On ebay (because of some horror stories posted on the internet) I started using Recorded Delivery to get independent proof that items had been delivered - just in case a bidder tried "pulling a fast one". Unfortunately too many items of delivered mail I sent were not entered on Royal Mail's Track and Trace Service even though I am confident that all the items were delivered. So, I have not had my independent proof of delivery on quite a high proportion of mail sent by Recorded Delivery (about 20 ...

I have been making complaints about the card leaving practice since 2005 but never received a satisfactory final response from Royal Mail, let alone a resolution. Instead, all these years they kept doing this. Even at times in 2005 I lost recorded delivery items, that I bought on eBay, and despite Royal Mail's admissions that the items were lost, I never received any compensation. Now, there is something new to this, in last couple of months I received at least 9 cards stating letter/packet is t ...

Regarding getting my mail, its hit and miss if you get same postie and the time it arrives could be anytime between 6am and 6.30pm, it used to be us the customers who moaned now I even hear posties about the long days they do. I want the good old fashioned royal mail back!

Redelivering mail is my gripe at the very present moment. Today I tried to phone several times starting at 8.05am without any success. I was constantly told, whilst on hold, that it would be faster and more effecient if I communicated through Royal Post website- www.royalmail.com/redelivery.

Fab service would recommend Royal Mail the local postie to anyone. If you are expecting a packet you can even ask the postie if he has anything for you. More of a personal service then Parcel net who are shocking to contact and charge for Saturday or am/pm delivery even though sender has already paid.

Royal Mail Redelivery Service: Royal Mail has brought their redelivery service in to the 21st century (or maybe not?). When the postman can't deliver he leaves a card and it was always the case that you phoned the sorting office to arrange redelivery or went to the sorting office to collect. No problem with that except the cost of a phone call to an 0845 number, which bugs me as I get free calls to all normal 01 & 02 numbers. So, Royal Mail has now offered a web site service that allows you t ...

I read that one of the reviews said to send recorded delivery, I have sent 2 recorded and one first class in the last month and not one has been received, it seems unbelievable but true. I have used track and trace with no success, and they were all to the same place.

Once item has been returned to Delivery Office you have up to 2pm to go & pick it up. How many workers finish at 2pm? I don't. Then the card informs you you to call a number at the office, costing money. Only to be informed on the phone by a pre-recorded message that they will only answer the phone "during Office hours" up to, guess what...2pm.Needs to have it's monopoly broken.

I use Royal Mail Recorded and Special Delivery services for business use, have done so for the past 3 years. The prices have always been the most competitive with the added bonus of convenience as there are many post offices and delivery offices nationwide. To date, I have never been able to fault the service and all of my customers have been pleased with the delivery of their products. All of the products that I have dispatched worldwide have been delivered promptly without any customer ...

My local post offices and postal delivery people are very friendly and provide a good service. The only issue I have had with Royal Mail is with resolving a lost item enquiry - it was then I realised how poor their customer service communication was.

I think the Royal Mail provide poor service. The local postman has bad manners, bad attitude and negligent drops of registered items at the front door. Website track item isn't compatible to Mozilla and Firefox.

The regular postman is great and friendly, and is mindfully on knocking with deliveries early in the morning Most of the staff at the local post offices are friendly and helpful. Have used the Post Office to send Ebay deliveries and not had a problem. Have noticed an increase in mail for other people when the regular postman is away.
