Why such bad reviews for a company which provides a service for all for a very reasonable price? I don't know what people want - always more!
I have never had any problems with using the Royal Mail. They are in my opinion very good value for money, items arrive quickly & in good condition. I sell on ebay and have never lost any items, they are easy to access both to send items & collect any missed items.

    Keep the post public!

Royal Mail's customer service is appalling. They never answer their phones, appear to make up their own opening and closing hours and are extremely rude when you talk to them. The whole business should be reviewed because at the moment they provide a service which is substandard and totally unsatisfactory.

The postal system in this country needs to be addressed quickly.

I always use recorded service when using Royal mail as I don't trust normal 1st and 2nd class of service, but this recorded service has also become unreliable. My nearly 4 out of 10 recorded deliveries have failed to reach on time or to reach the destination at all. Royal mail is a big waste of time in market there is no alternative for ordinary consumers. Break up the dinosaur Royal mail and get it working again.
Now they even made it difficult or impossible to speak to someone regarding proble ...

I do a lot of my shopping on the internet and I love it. The only time I have any problem is when the supplier uses one of the many hopeless couriers that now seem to be flooding the market. I have had cards left advising me to collect a parcel from depots that are 40 miles away or arrange re-delivery which I do and wait in all day for to no avail resulting in another tear your hair out phone call. I have now placed a rule on my internet shopping --If it's not by Royal Mail then forget it . Too ...

It is no wonder Royal Mail are losing business hand-over-hand. Customer services non-existent and designed to be inaccessible.

When they held a virtual monopoly they were inefficient now that is no longer the case they seem to be even more inept.

Shut them down, sell them off, anything!

The customer services are extremely rude. I rang to make a complaint about a parcel delivery and was told that they get alot of very similar complaints and that this must mean that customers either lie or are mistaken. The operator then hung up on me. Does Royal mail not operate a 'customer is always right' policy? To assume that because they get many complaints of the same kind from all over the country means that customers spend their money to call them and make up such stories is complete ...

I sent a letter of with special delivery. Two weeks later I called Royal Mail as the recipient didn't recieve it. Royal Mail said that they apologise and the investigation would take over a week to sort it out. I needed that letter to get there the day after when I sent it off. That caused me to change the plans for my whole summer.

I lost 350 pounds when my new jacket went missing a couple of weeks ago with Royal Mail. I paid first class to return a jacket to a shop because it was the wrong size. It should have taken a day but two weeks later im losing all 350 pounds. When i went to Royal Mail they were so rude i couldnt believe it. It was like i had done something wrong and they didnt have time to help. I now try to avoid using them if i can help it. I better start saving for another jacket.

I can only speak for myself, and I have nothing but praise for the service Royal Mail provides. I have never had any cause to complain - in fact, the reverse - and I think it is criminal that the present Government wants to remove this service. I received correspondence which had been damaged in transit. It arrived in a see-through bag with an apology on the back from Royal Mail - I call that excellent customer relations, and a service like that should not be taken away from us. Speaking fro ...

Here is a summary of my experiences with Royal Mail services over the last twelve months.December 2007: Successfully purchased stamps online using my credit card.January 2008: Twice attempted to set up Redirection online. Credit card used previous month refused. Eventually set up by post.June-July 2008: Two 'signed for' items left at my address. On neither occasion was I or any other person asked to provide a signature, the items were just posted though the letterbox with other normal mail items ...

Royal Mail appears to have a problem with their customer service representatives, I had the occasion to telephone them on monday to complain about the erratic mail delivery in our area and also to say that we have had several letters either lost or delivered to the wrong house. I first of all spoke to a man who often interrupted me. I rang again and spoke to a woman who although she let me speak she seemed so defensive, so I asked to speak to a supervisor. I then asked whether he could make it a ...

I have recently had a birthday and had a parcel sent containing some Christmas presents (already opened), some old shoes, an old handbag and a couple of birthday presents and cards. I was very keen to receive this before my birthday (Saturday) so my mother posted it on Wednesday. We usually use Parcelforce 48 which has never let us down, it usually arrives within a day. However, she was persuaded by the postoffice worker that for extra security and *guaranteed* arrival by Thursday before 1pm, s ...

Since Royal Mail shut down so many post offices and transferred them to W. H. Smith the service has gone down a huge amount I feel. I would always try to use the small post offices, just to keep them open, but now W.H. Smith staff (which is what they are not post office staff) really give the most atrocious service I find compared with Royal Mail.

I am not sure what the agenda is with the Post Office but it's like a lot of other things in this country - gone to the dogs!!!

    Use your local post ...

Royal Mail are good to send parcels with cheaply, if they don't get lost! If the other person underpaid you have to pay amount to cover the parcel and £1 handling fee! It is stupid I think as paying for the item to be in their warehouse for a few hours the other person should be told to pay but we still get the item!

Royal Mail is simply one of the backbones of the UK. For a long time it had been the official organisation used by the richest and the poorest for the delivery of mail, packages and parcels.Royal Mail's standard mail delivery is outstanding. 20p (Royal Mail 1st Class standard) is what I'd pay to send a letter from the southern-most point of Britain to the northern-most point, also knowing that it will take no more than 2 days to get there. If I were a cheap-skate, I could pay 10p and know that s ...
