I sent two birthday cards for my nieces first birthday. One from me and one from my children. I'm a single parent on benefits so affording to send this special delivery is expensive, so I put £10 in each card and then used selotape. I have done this many times and never had any problems. I posted it at a post office near my house, my sister got the card the next day and what a surprise no money in the cards. So royal mail staff get paid to delieevr money, but yet they think they can open peoples...

In the last 3 months I've bought a lot of small packages from various retailers. 180ish items. International items I've bought in last year about 60. I live in a large town in Scotland. Out of the 200ish small items 5 have gone missing. When I say lost, that is the term companies will use, but items do not just 'go missing' or sit in some mythical Warehouse of lost items like you'd see in Raiders of the Lost Ark. No, by and large any items that 'go missing' have to be stolen. Sure, there is a tiny...

I posted two "Mail Lite" first class packets in Colchester, Essex, and both containing seasoning to the same address. To lose one packet is unfortunate but both have gone missing, which I presume has been stolen by Royal Mail as they still haven't been delivered nearly two weeks on. When you use the Royal Mail service you naturally assume that your goods/property will be delivered. How wrong can anyone be. Do not trust the Royal Mail as I believe they employ too many monkeys who are only out to thieve. This is probably only the "tip of the iceberg".

Why are your postmen extremely lazy? This recorded signed for service is not great I prefer standard class because 1.) every time I order stuff that are posted recorded, I always wait inside my flat. I don't go out for 2-3 days. Sadly. Postmen are too lazy to knock! My door is just right there but they chose to leave a note saying I missed them! What???? I was waiting for them for 2 days! Now they're making things much longer. Now I have to wait one more day! This service is terrible! Royal mail...

I ordered a box set of CD's & DVD's which were sent from the USA. I requested that they be delivered to my business address to ensure that they would be received since they would not fit through the letterbox. A calling card was received at my business address stating that delivery couldn't be made until a customs charge and handling fee was paid - £12.73. Given the long queues at the Royalmail sorting office I couldn't afford to wait up to an hour to be served so elected to pay the fee online...

It is beyond me why any company would want to use such a pathetic service that Royal Mail now offer, not so long ago you could expect a 1st class letter or packet to arrive within 1 or 2 days, not now its more like 4 to 7 days most times. I have been waiting 6 days for plants to arrive ( posted 1st class) when they do eventually get here , they will most likely be damaged, crushed or maybe even perished. I can not see anything improving with this company and its Victorian attitude , sell it off....

I don't send a lot of letters and tend not to receive many as most of my business is done online. When I do have to use Royal Mail they never seem to get it right. I had previously had no problem with the Royal Mail. Everything was going fine until February (2 months ago) when, to my surprise, not 1, not even 2, but THREE small items I had sent during the same week to different buyers never showed up. Then, at the end of March, I sent another. Nearly a month has gone, and that hasn't arrived either. 2 items have arrived, but both took over 2 weeks, and buyers had to pay handling fees. The other from February still isn't there. All were sent to 4 different...

I'm an online retailer and have sent well over 50,000 packets with Royal Mail in the last two years. The % of losses and delays is extraordinary. They refuse to pay compensation for most lost items using their new policy that requires the buyer to fill in a questionnaire and sign just to allow me to claim after settling with them. The prices, even for a reasonable sized seller like me are going up 50% this year. Overall and extra £15,000 a year I will be charged to be let down on numerous occasions,...

Self explanatory title really. I use them for Lovefilm continually and 1st class mail frequently doesn't arrive the next working day. I also use parcels for eBay and Amazon which at least a third of the time take longer than expected. Private companies, UPS, Fed Ex impress far more. Finally, I can never read the 'Sorry we missed you' cards I sometimes get through the door. The handwriting is terrible. The good thing though is that they are always friendly and helpful. I use Royal Mail Special Delivery for my ebay business. Over the last five years I have sent approx 2000 parcels using Royal Mail special delivery. Only once has one got lost. The price is cheaper than the competition and very fast. Even if you post on a Friday and dont pay the Saturday delivery charge, the majority still get delivered on a Saturday. I think the key element to success is good packaging, accurate / clear addressing. The only critisism is that if you do have to claim for a loss, it...
