“Appalling joke of a service.”

On 29 July I visited our local post office to send our niece's 5th birthday present to France. I asked for the fastest, most secure method of delivery and was advised to purchase 'Royal Mail Tracked' which should get the parcel to my niece within two - three days. When it didn't arrive, I tracked it online and the status said 'received at our Int'l Delivery Centre'. Week later I checked again when the parcel didn't arrive. Same message. “AMAZING!!!!!”

They actually managed to deliver a letter to me when only my name and the name of my house were correct. The street and town name were missing and the postcode was wrong. It was the post code for the town next to mine. But Wales was mentionned in the address. The letter was posted on August 6th and I got it on 22nd. I'd say that's pretty good. “very "good" service.”

Send letter with signed and tracked international. arrived in Heathrow and from there nothing, stoped, i phone to royal mail and a guy said it arrive in the country of destination and the letter has been procceded by the company in that country. Paid for special delivery next working day by 1pm 2 working days later tried to track it on Royal Mail Website & get this message. Status: Please come back later Special Delivery Guaranteed™ items are first tracked when they have reached our mail centre. This may be late in the evening on the day the item was sent. “Damaged and won't pay”

I sent my dog clipper blades to be sharpened and when they arrived they had the teeth all broken, Royal mail put a letter with them saying sincere apologies, they were bubble wrapped and in a jiffy bag and special delivery so covered by their insurance, well after many attempts they will not pay even been to the postal review process and no wont pay, please think carefully before paying this expensive service they will not pay out… Read Full Review

“Disgraceful bunch of idiots.”

Use a courier company instead. An organisation with no pride in what they do, no concerns about their awful customer service or any desire to improve their performance. The only difference between, for example their 1st class, 2nd class and recorded sign for delivery, is what they charge their customers. When a recorded item is not delivered, customers have to wait for 15 days and all that Royal Mail are able to say is that prior to 15 days, item is delayed, after 15 days, item is lost. “Guaranteed Special Delivery before 1pm next day NOT!!!”

“Special delivery - what a joke!”

Sent my young niece her passport and Nintendo toy that she had left behind by so-called Special Delivery - which is an expensive tracked mail service - and Royal Mail "lost" (their words - Fred in Customer Services escalation team) it as soon as it was signed out by Royal Mail from my friendly local Post Office! “APPALLING SERVICE”

I never get next day delivery. Items get delivered to our neighbours all the time. The sorting office is a joke we had numerous parcels just sat there undelivered and we did not find out until we went to get something else. “Worthless Proof of Postage”

Something I sold went missing. I presented my proof of postage certificate along with the value of the item and a statement from the recipient saying he had not received the item. Royal Mail wrote to the recipient to ask if he received the item. The letter was returned because the recipient was away. Case immediately closed with zero compensation! They just can't be bothered. Expensive pile of hairy mens danglies, the staff must wander around aimlessly scratching their starfish, doing fook all, as apparently it's actually up to 3wks and four days delivery for 1st classed signed for, before they believe they'd fallen short of delivering a good service to you! “Birthday Cards”

I posted 2 separate birthday cards ( both correct size and 1st class postage on them) on Tuesday 24th June for my nephew,s birthday on Thursday 26th June. The service from RM in Yorkshire, especially around the Leeds area is an absolute disgrace!!!!! But pretty poor all over it seems!

I have just spent ages on the phone to Royal Mail, listening to the longest stream of options I have ever heard in my life and the end of which being told to go through to another number, then another. I, and everyone in my household, have told Royal Mail again and again that if nobody comes to the door, you can put the package in our designated 'safeplace'. And yet, time and again, that familiar red 'something for you' paper comes through the door telling us that our item is at the local Delivery Office. I ordered a cake online on Saturday from a company in England for delivery to Northern Ireland. The company emailed me to say it was in the hands of Royal Mail on Monday, and on Tuesday I received an email from RM to say that the parcel was in the local delivery office in Northern Ireland, then under five hours later I received a further email from them confirming delivery.
