    Our flight on the way out was delayed by nearly 1 hour. When we arrived in Cyprus we were advised that our luggage was taken off at Newcastle because the pilot did not have enough fuel to get us back to Cyprus & it was cheaper for him to refuel in Cyprus so he'd off-loaded 120 suitcases without telling any passengers. We eventually got our cases 28 hours later, on the way home he could not land in Newcastle airport because of the fog, however planes had been landing there all day so work that one out if you can. So he took us to Manchester where we were taken to Newcastle by coach which took 3 hours. All in all our journey home took 16 hours. I'll never us them again & if anyone does not know they are called A Jet now so beware.

    Do not use this airline.

    We have flown with Helios several times since they started up from Luton - our local airport. The staff are always friendly, pleasant and helpful. The planes are always clean and tidy and the meals have never disappointed. The only quibble I have is that when they started out they seemed a breath of fresh air - prices were fair and very competitive but over the last year they seem to have become as greedy as the main players - very disapointing - we had such high hopes.     After being delayed nearly 24 hours by `a technical problem` we contacted Helios for compensation, they passed us back to the holiday company and the customer services person was very impolite. We have been told we are being dealt with from the headquarters in Cyprus and are still waiting 5 weeks after our holiday. Watch this space...

    Myself & my partner flew to Larnaca from Luton in May 2005. I had never flew with Helios Airways before & chose to fly with Helios because I wanted to go from Luton & only required a flight.
    All the other airlines flying to Cyprus seem to have such terrible flight times, so the main reason for selecting Helios was because of this.
    Our flights to Cyprus cost us £249 pounds each, so I wouldn't declare this as being low cost, but we got there & back in one piece & that was the main thing. ...

    I flew to Cyprus in April with Helios. I've never flown with them before and as a nervous flyer I was concerned as to what I was getting into. However apart from a two hour delay outward bound the service and aircraft were excellent. The staff are really helpful and accommodating, food not bad (I've had worse), in flight entertainment, clean and tidy aircraft and the leather seats were a bonus. I would recommend Helios and will certainly fly with them again.
