Good Points: SOUND QUALITY, POWER, VERSITILITY GREAT WITH MOVIES, SPECTACULAR WITH MUSIC
Bad Points: ability switching to music while watching sports or any video has to be done on front of receiver not on remote
General comments: SUPERB WITH MUSIC. I love the direct mode, paired with the TECHNICS DVE A10. also when the A10 does its 196/24 decoding DENON passes the analog o so sweetly. Setup is with the SOUND AND VISION home theater setup disk, mains POLK RT1000I center CS400I surrounds NHT SUPERONEs
subs two POLK PSW300. system is set to play at a moderate level so neighbours are not disturbed I find this to be the ideal. Going deaf is not my goal; an enveloping listening environment is. This is readily achievable. My wife did not understand the fuss but I never get tired of her asking if someone is in the other room or checking to see if it's raining. Oh the satisfaction of seeing my wife and children flinch at the approach of some perceived flying object. My children will not watch dvd with friends they have made my home the place for 8 to 12year olds to watch movies on a saturday night. Of course this give me an excuse to be out with the fellas. denon avr-4800 welcome to the family.
