I have had my Dyson DC0 1 since early 2000~and it is still going strong and does a good job on my carpets and constant cat fluff.
Often needs declogging by removing the base platefrequently needs a good clean machine is rather heavythe hose does not easily reach up the stairstends to topple when using the hoselong hair and threads do bind around the rollerthe long narrow crevice tool is not very long to reach under the sofa~and the bulbous bit prevents it fitting very far under low furnitur ...- Read ChoccyCarole's review (96 words)

I'd have been happy if I bought my Dyson DC01 super cheap second hand, but otherwise, not at all impressed. Annoying build, awkward shape. I even found the cord tie annoying. No good for corners or small areas. And the list goes on. No recommend!- Read Guest's review (48 words)

I bought a Dyson DC01 upright cleaner about 15 years ago when they were quite new. It has cleaned my family home brilliantly, but I made sure I used only genuine Dyson filters, which were disposable until the last few years when they made washable ones. I find it very easy to unblock the hose when new carpet fibres tend to build up. My secret weapon being an adapted wire coat hanger! I have replaced the drive belt a few times - no problem. My concern now is whether I should try one of the newer ...- Read Upright Girl's review (139 words)

The DC01 is a very good vacuum but like most new items it has its teathing broblems. Good suction parts easy to aquire. If the vacuume is looked after it will last years. Requires regular emptying and cleaning- Read Guest's review (38 words)

The Dyson DC01 is versatile, no bag, easy storage, cheap replacement parts, excellent suction, but the colour gets a bit boring! Pretty good all rounder!- Read Trudiee's review (25 words)

Other reviewers have spoken of a loss of suction and suggested checking the narrow airways for blockages. These checks are worth doing but the main problem is that even the genuine Dyson belt hardens and elongates by up to 50% over time. This means that although the suction may be optimum, the rotating brush does not have enough torque to pick up hair etc. I replaced the belt and the improvement was amazing.- Read stannn's review (101 words and 1 comment)

I have had this for almost 10 years. I bought the special 'Antartic' edition - only difference was the colour of grey and blue.
It has never gone wrong, and always worked at full power. We accidentally sucked up the power cable which led to a few nicks and it stopped working. Luckily this was within a metre or two of the plug, so I cut the cable and reattached the plug and all works well - albeit 2m shorter....
I love the design of the Dyson DC01, and the constant full power and the ease a ...- Read robfrombris's review (217 words)

The Dyson DC01 vacuum cleaner was passed down to us from my wife's side - after many years of hard use (4 years). All it needed was a new cable and wand, and now we've had it for 2 years. It is ready to change now - being scratched - bits lost, rubber perishing etc.
Overall, it is a great cleaner.- Read danskat01's review (138 words)

The Dyson DC01 Vacuum cleaner is disappointing for the money. I paid more than twice as much as I would for another brand. I was foolish enough to believe that high cost equals high quality. I found this website, as I have finally given up with the Dyson, and am looking for something else.- Read mactag's review (172 words)

I bought the Dyson DC01 vacuum cleaner nearly 4 years ago, and regretted it after a few months. It was bought at a price of around £200 at the time, but I think Henry would do the job better!
I will never buy a Dyson again.- Read Sampan's review (102 words)

What are you all complaining about? The Dyson DC01 is powerful and it doesn't lose suction!! With its easy to empty bin, you don't need to fiddle with bags that spill the dirt you have just removed back onto the carpet! You can even see the dirt collecting, so you get great satisfaction for the work you are putting in!!!- Read pinklampshade's review (76 words)

Everyone on here seems to be only moaning because they bought it when it was 1 of the first out I payed £300 4 years ago which was good then now there cheaper but you can't expect your money back now! God grow up people!! The cleaner needs no extra work, I send mine off every 2 years just to make sure all is well and for a service if it needs it but have only needed to do that once, overall its a great cleaner so easy to use and like a KIRBY cleaner which is 1 of the best in the world its ...- Read richard94972000's review (187 words and 2 comments)
