I have visited this particular place several times and keep returning for more, even the hill, the beautiful views and the friendly hospitality of the staff are the main reasons why we always find somewhere new to discover and come back home feeling fully relaxed. As Thassos is the most chilled out place I have ever visited the people are great and are always willing to let you try out speaking a few words of greek. My husband first visited the Emerald alone last year, and was so besotted we all went back this year. What gives the place it's edge is the owner, Costas. You will not meet a more welcoming host, period. The atmosphere at the bar in the evenings is inclusive & wonderful. The rooms are basic, but very clean- the staff do a wonderful job.

The walk up the hill brings you to one of the best views on the island- you'd be mad to complain! Not to mention the fact it helps to walk off some of the... (read more)

Competitors on the Krypton Factor would be tested getting up the long and steep hill you have to negotiate every time you return to the Emerald Apartments in Golden Beach, Thassos. Make no mistakes, it is a killer! Why the proprietor cannot put on a mini bus 5 or 6 times a day like some other hillside accommodation at this resort is beyond us. The resort in wonderful, but with the long climb and average rooms, the Emerald Apartments were not a good choice for us. Only for the super fit!! (read more)

Costa takes pride in Emerald Apartments, and works very hard. He is kind and friendly, as is his dog who likes to greet everyone with a bark and wag of his tail (he will not enter your room unless you ask him to). The cleaning staff were very good and discreet. Would go there again. (read more)

The Emerald Apartments overall were very enjoyable. Trips I would recommend is the Waterpark trip, that was fantastic. The boat trip to Lindos was good so I will recommend that. The Jeep Safari was enjoyable. Beautiful weather 24/7 if you go in July/August. Overall, a fantastic holiday. Definitely worth the money. (read more)

The Emerald Apartments are a nice apartments, apart from the location as it is right on the end of the runway. The beach is pebbly but the shop round the corner is quite handy as you only need to walk 30 meters to do your shopping. The Ideal Restaurant serves very good meals and has very friendly staff, at night the restaurant has entertainment such as dancing and they have 2 people who play classic songs with their guitars. The Emerald Apartments are a 5 minute walk from the wonderful sandy beach, but it is a 20 minute walk back UP the hill. Golden Beach is a laid back and relaxing resort with the evenings revolving around eating a one the tavernas. Very few bars here. The surrounding mounting scenery is quite magnificent and together with the beach are the high spots of this resort. If you want to do any shoping you will need to go to Thassos Town( a few buses every day) as there are only a few small... (read more)
