Went to Areti in July 2009 for 2 weeks, SC in one bedroom apartment. We have 2 children aged 4 and 19 months so youngest had a cot. Not recommend for those with mobilty concerns as very steep 'drive' to apartment from road, in addition to apartments also being on a hill. We enjoyed the walk every day/night even laden down with buggies and kids stuff and in the 42 degree heat...however not for everyone. Views from apartments were definatly worth it and we all certainly came home fitter!! Very goo ...

Clean sheets and towels every day, near bus stop, beaches and supermarkets. Steep hill to walk up to get to the Areti apartments. This was a very clean apartment block. Very nice and friendly

Good points of the Areti Apartments are the rooms, the bartender and the pool. Bad points walking up the hill. Was a really good holiday

As written in previous reviews, the view is breathtaking, and you feel as though you are at the top of the island.
The beach is great, with clean sand and a wonderful warm clear sea. There is also a relatively cheap kiosk and great water sports that are reasonably priced (and from experience great fun).
Skiathos town is very picturesque, with plenty of restaurants, all serving pretty much the same traditional food. There are also plenty of souvenir shops and such. The old style Greek alleyways ...

Skiathos itself is a lovely place to visit, however if you want any sort of action you will need to go into Skiathos town and I would highly recommend that you hire a car with a/c. Take a stroll down the back streets to find the best value food. We found a wonderful restaurant, Paraxenous, this is well worth a visit, English waitress made things very easy, the Greek owners are also lovely and very quick to fix things when things went slightly wrong. If you do anything that I recommend, please vi ...

I know it seems there is a lot more bad points to the holiday than good, but the island is beautiful and the majority of local waiters/people are very nice.

Shame we went at one of the hottest weeks they have ever seen, but it was still a good holiday.

Everyone staying there had more than one thing to complain about and I don't think anyone we spoke to was happy!

If you do not mind climbing hills and enjoy amazing scenery, including crystal blue sea and blue sky, then this is the place for you. The beach is a walk away and accessible down a very high slope. It is well worth it when you get there, as Platanias Beach is largely unspoilt. Troulos town has too many stray cats, so catch the bus to Skiathos town, as nothing happens in Troulos. There is loads to do in Skiathos town. The Areti apartments are a little haven, and ideal to get away from it all.

We had a great holiday in Skiathos, despite the weather being a little unpredictable. The Areti apartments were basic but clean. Staff were really hardworking, spoke excellent English and were really friendly. The views were marvellous and the resort very quiet - not the place to go for a lively holiday. In fact, if you have children who like to do more than swim and mess about in the sand then this may not be for you! The bar offered a small lunchtime/snack menu and the food was good. The ...

The option of having an evening meal in the newly extended bar area would be nice.
