All I can say is that my wife and I never go back to the same place twice, with exception to Jimmys studios. I can quite honestly say that the week we stayed was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable holiday experience we have ever had. Dimetri and his family are real hosts who look after their guests as if they are a member of the family. The effort that the family put in to make your holiday a great one is second to none. I have just spent 3 weeks at Jimmy's studios with my wife Helen, and having read the other reports I feel we must have stayed somewhere else!, as Jimmy's Studios in Platanias, run by Dimitri and his parents, is one of the nicest, cleanest and most pleasant holiday studio/apartment complexes I have ever stayed in. Basic, clean accommodation but with a number of problems: 1. The toilet stopcock was faulty so it refilled, noisily, all night. 2. The pool was frequently unavailable just when the children wanted to use it due to 'cleaning.' 3. The landlady shouted orders at guests from the courtyard to turn lights off, etc. She could be described as a bossy old battleaxe. 4. The maid refused to clean another room while I was taking a nap, but barged in to do her clean then and there. 5. The room... (read more)

Having stayed at Jimmy's Studios as recently as 14-28 Sept 2010 there are a number of factors which do not ring true about this report.

<br/>2. The pool was always cleaned before 9am before many guests were up and never closed during the course of the day.
<br/>
<br/>3. There is *no courtyard* at these premises and the 'landlady' unlikely to shout orders as she speaks very little English.
<br/>
<br/>6. All rooms have air-conditioning.
<br/>
<br/>7. As 3 above there is *no courtyard* to shout across.
<br/>
<br/>12. I certainly had a shower curtain, but 'wet rooms' are I believe quite fashionable!
<br/>
<br/>In truth I believe this a review of another 'Jimmys Studio' of which there are several in Skiathos.

This was our first stay at Jimmy's. After booking the holiday I read some of these reviews and was a bit worried about going and so went expecting the worst! It is basic and some of the bathroom fittings could do with replacing but it is decent accommodation for the price that we paid.
The main problem was the lack of hot water. I think this wasn't due to any sort of fualt it was just because they didn't like turning the boiler on! This aside we had a nice stay, the local supermarkets are...

We visited Jimmy's Studios for the 3rd time this year and again not disappointed by the warm friendly welcome you receive from the family.
The rooms are what to be expected from greek accommodation, basic but well kept and cleaned daily. If you have not been to greece before, then make sure you don't expect too much from your accommodation.
The hosts are the most wonderful people to look after you on your holiday. They don't speak english very well but are most hospitable people.

Extremely friendly, lovely and clean. Great pool. Nice and quiet but close enough for everything. Elvis lives on in Dimitri. Had a great greek night. Great food. All freshly cooked. Bit of a rough track but not far. Did not need a torch. Definitely one to return too. Long journey to Skiathos but well worth it. (read more)

Perhaps if you had stayed in a dark, dingy room, with a sinking toilet for a week as we did, perhaps your comment would be totally different. Next time try rooms 12 or 13 and then write a review!!!
