I like the car, but I have had problems and it has been a nightmare dealing with the main dealers. I had to replace the throttle body which Mitsubishi charge £1,000 for. The dealers would not get around to fixing it for 4 weeks, so no car for that time. I got a secondhand spare in the end. I have just had more problems. The car are built so you have to go to the main dealers for any engine management problems. Pity as the car is decent, but would defintely not recomend them due to the spares costs and dealer problems.

Good all round car but does suffer from a strange tickover. Economical, powerful, light to drive, good gearbox and kickdown, good visibility, good space, very easy to drive.

After 6 months the front discs had to be skimmed and then again at 12 months the car only had 12000 miles on the clock and we had it from new. 24000 miles and the engine would not tick over it was decoked and a new management system was fitted we had it back from the garage and was never the same again in fact the Mitsubishi mechanics told we to get rid of it.
After having the car from new x reg 2.4 gdi model and having nothing but problems with it paying for services which are not cheap I would ...

Love the Mitsubishi Space Wagon. It has been a great car for ferrying the kids around and the hubby to his races. Has driven us all over the show and we've not had any major problems with it other than general wear and tear. (Touch wood!) Sadly our children are getting a little big for the car now as there isn't much legroom in the back of the 7 seats, but if you only need the 7 seater on odd occasions then its a great car with plenty of room.

I got this vehicle with 45,000 mileage on it, in November 2007, everything was pretty fine until I realize that sometimes when you start the vehicle it shuts off, and then to my dismay it started giving me a major problem I was on the Highway and then the engine check light came on the vehicle slow down and I heard a cracking sound in the engine and it started stuttering I got so frightened. I took it to a mechanic and he runs it through the computer he said that it is some power senor going bad ...

I bought the car in November 2006, the mileage on the car was only 13,500 miles, hard to believe I know but its a mobility owner, 6 months later driving back from Blackpool, the unbelievable happened, my engine management light came on!! I pulled over the hard shoulder and called the AA. Due to the year of the model AA cannot diagnose the fault, tow me back to the main dealer which cost me £90 test.

The main dealer told me that they opened the air intake and engine cover, the valves we ...

It is a lot of car for your money.

With the current move towards more ecological cars, the second hand price for the Mitsubishi Space Wagon GLX GDi 2.4 should be quite low. It offers a much better drive than the Galaxy genre.

I absolutely adore this Mitsubishi Space Wagon GLX GDi - and I drive for a living so have plenty to compare it to!!

Much better value for money than comparable MPVs eg Sharan; Zafira; Galaxy etc.
    Powerful responsive engine.
    Responsive and easy to handle.
    Good all-round visibility.

I purchased this Mitsubishi Space Wagon GLX GDi 2.4 People Carrier in Oct 2003 from a mid sized dealership. Never having owned an MPV before I did a fair bit of research. I went for Asian vehicles for reliability and looks.
This vehicle looks good and handles well overall. It has an excellent level of extras and performs well in the fuel comsumtion (33-34mpg), despite being a 2.4 engines. Like all MPV's it is a bit slow at first then 'takes-off'. My only complaint in handling is the excessive r ...
