just bought a hama star 62.i think it is great value at the price.only one snag.the tilt( up and down ?)was very stiff and caused the retaining cap to work loose.i cured this with silicone spray lubricant instead of wd40 that others have used and it now works fine.probably would have been better if retaining cap was a screwfit instead of a pushfit.otherwise it does what says on the tin.cant wait to use it at the next airshow. probably wish i had working knowledge of tripods beforehand... I have read many reviews on Amazon, which is the website that I bought the Hama Star from, and many of them said that the panning was stiff, however, it was one of the smoothest panning that I have seen yet! It fit my Canon MD205 and PRAKTICA cameras very well! Excellent value for money, very sturdy, smooth panning, fit both of my cameras, should I say anymore? (read more)

I found the Hama Star 62 to be the perfect item for me. Lightweight, yet sturdy, with adjustable feet for uneven surfaces. There are 2 spirit levels which makes it easer to ensure alignment is correct. The built in carry handle makes it easy to move the tripod with ease. (read more)
