Really could use some advice! I booked a holiday to Rhodes on the 26th of september for 6 of us. And well I have certainly learnt my lesson and will not be booking a holiday for friends again as people kept dropping out etc, anyway we decided to cancel the hole holiday only to find imperial travel wanted an extra £1000 of us for cancelling! We paid £600 deposit and accept we lost that, but can they really do this? They are threatening to take me to court if I dont pay or pass the debt on... (read more)

run as fast as you can this company is rubbish, I booked a holiday with a gentleman who sounded quite young , did not have a clue what he was doing didn't car about me or I wanted only interested in making money. So just booked with imperial and after reading the reviews I am worried :( They didnt call me back to confirm my res so I phoned them then I ginally got a call back to say all booked and email on its way... finally got the email and it only has the flights and baggage on it... no accomodation or transfers! Is this right? Do they come seperate or should it all be on 1 email? (can someone advise me on this) I tried ringing them to find out but they are closed. I'm actually quite panicked now. ... well its been over a week, had no confirmation on hotel, have rang them 3 times and they keep saying the email is on its way, have received nothing in writing from them confirming the holiday has been booked at all :( I change my original review to 1 star if I could. Dont book with this company, please just pay the extra to go with a reputable company so you have peace of mind. x

I haven't even been on my holiday yet and i wish i never booked with them.. rudest set of staff ive ever come across. Constantly fob u off on the phone & never reply to emails. Even when your are just ringing up to make a payment they are SO rude. Also misold baggage to us when i asked for two bags they gave me one when i rang up they said 'we record our phone calls so u can buy the phone call for £25 if u prove us wrong we will refund u the money and resolve the problem' HOW STUPID when... we booked our hol through ice-lolly and they used imperial travel i read da reviews online and really started to panic, it took a week or so for them to e-mail da holiday info which made me worry more but every time we rang them they were lovely.we got the info and everyting went really we could fault them at all..i hope this buts uer minds at ease. Excellent service from Duncan, very pleasant and very helpful resulting in a great holiday, everything went smoothly from start to finish and would definitely use them again. They always returned phone calls and did everything they said they would in a timely manner. I was a bit concerned having read some poor reviews but feel that often people only have something to say when its negative so credit where credits due, I can't fault them! (read more)

Booked to go to Gran Canaria on 02/07/2012. After several phone calls and various prices I finally booked the hotel I wanted. During these several phone calls I stressed several times that transfers were important to me and checked that these were included in the price. Each time I was told that the transfers were included. I had booked with this company for a fortnights holiday in Lanzarote before I read all the reviews! I found Luke and Jim both very helpful and efficient on both of my calls. I had reason to alter some of the booking and it was handled with speed and knowledge. All the paperwork was received within a day and the altered booking was completed and documentation received within an hour. I would like to say our experience with this firm was good but it was far from it 1/ they changed the boat upon arrival in egypt to another boat but this was only 4 * not 5* as before 2/ once on the boat we got told we hadn't paid , and WE had to ring them to sort it or pay again !!! 3/ on transfer to the hotel (they had previously changed from the one originally book to an alternative) we found we hadn't been BOOKED in and this took a long time to sort out at a cost on my mobile ... They always call me back if they can't help me straight away and the advisors I have dealt with have been really helpful. My last booking agent called Louise couldn't do enough for me and really helped me booked the perfect first holiday for my 11 month old. will definately use them again. (read more)

They are nothing but a bunch of irrational, preposterous and disturbed people who will purposely steal your money and not even send you tickets and when you complain, they will treat you like a piece of s***. When you call them and ask to email the tickets, they will simply email you some confirmations which you cannot even look up online (ie. with your airline) because they do not even exist!!!! Recently booke a holiday for myself and 3 girl friends. The 4 of us agreed with Imperial Travel that we were happy to share a room. We naturally assumed that the room would be big enough for 4 adults - why would you think otherwise? We arrived at the hotel to discover that Imperial Travel had booked a standrd twin room - no way near big enough for 4 people with 4 suitcases! My sister's family and I booked with this company last year. Their advisor told us an incorrect price per person. They divided the total price by 4, but my neice was free in the hotel so it cost me another £160. They ommitted to tell us that they had put us all in one room though we had inquired about 2 rooms. Wish I had the same sense of confidence in this company, they have misled us in the quote now asking for another £250 and every time we ring all we ever get is "We will take your number and get back to you" and they never do. They sent us a letter with no break-down of holiday price just asking for a balance with a not very nice tone to the letter, i.e. saying if we don't pay balance within the next 5 working days they will charge £10 a day to the balance. We wish to query the amount but no-one ever gets back to us. Losing all confience in this company, wished I had gone with a more well known Organisation. Don't book with them

Booked a holiday for me and my 6 friends......quoted a price, really happy, so paid £700 deposit.....2weeks later i am informed that accommodation is overbooked and the alternative offer was a hotel on the other side of the island or a more expensive one. when i said i wanted a refund only then was i informed it was not sold as a package, although i was quoted 1 price on booking, this is to cover themselves with ABTA. Avoid at all cost. We booked a holiday that included transfers. When we got to the destination airport we were stranded and had to get a taxi to the resort, for which imperial refused to refund. Imperials response was that it was not their problem. Imperial travel are extremely cheap - to coin a very over used phrase "you get what you pay for"
They get you the best priced you can find for a specific holiday - we tried 5 agents and imperial were by far the cheapest.
If you check your documents properly before you go then you should have no probs with transfers / hotles etc - which they provided us with vouchers for all of them.

I dont often post on forums or reviews but in this instance I feel I must. There is a good reason for this company receiving 2.5 out of 5 stars and that is that they are hopeless !!!!. Why people keep booking with them is a mystery.
Customer service is no existant the staff are ill informed and rather rude. If you ask to speak with a manager/supervisor they do not exist. I will never again use this company and of course that is another customer they have lost. Please do not use this company...

After finding my holiday through Icelolly, I contacted the travel agent listed to book our trip. I was a little disappointed when the holiday price shot up from £354 to £449. Absolutely 1 of the worst companies i have ever dealt with. They are all very nice to you when booking a holiday and taking your money, but so rude!! Any other query i had about my holiday i could never pick the phone up to actually speak to them, they would answer the phone in a huff as if you are bothering them and always had to call you back and would normally take hours, i would personally rather hold and know iam going to speak to someone. We booked to go Egypt with Teletext and they used these guys. The man on the phone (sorry can't remember his name) was really helpful and did not do a hard sell act. He knew what he was talking about. The tickets arrived just they said and when I had a problem when away they sorted it out really quick and were lovely to talk to.
They were very professional and comforting.

imperial travel ar total rip off's. me and my partner book't a holiday to egypt last year.. i book't the holiday over the phone and when i receved the tickets through post the name on the ticket was spelt wrong. when i rung back imperial travel to correct the mistake. i was greated by a very rude guy called danel.. who said it,s going to cost you eighty quid more.to change the name.

Hi there was wondering if anything came of you cancelling with this company court etc??? I really want to cancel my holiday have paid 300 and still 2 grand to pay. Really don't want to go and heard this company is awful of I cancel will be charged for full holiday and if dont pay court etc. any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi there, well after a lot of arguing I am hoping we have heard the last of it and nothing's come of it! I sent them a long email explaining I can not afford to pay these charges etc etc and they replied and said they will pass it on to there finance company and I've heard nothing more so don't want to give my hopes up but fingers crossed that's the end of it! When was the last time you spoke to them then? Yeah think I'm just going to cancel obviously I'm prepared to lose my 300 deposit don't know how they can justify me paying the rest which is 2 grand is crazy. Heard alot of bad things about this company wish I had never booked.

yeah i was the same i booked for a few of us and then people kept dropping out and it was all left on my back cos the booking was in my name. I havent heard of them since October now so hoping its all forgotten about. My advice is just dont be afraid of them and stand your ground cos they will try and throw everything at you but if u stick up for yourself should be ok.

My girlfriend is trying to cancel her holiday with this company and she was expecting to lose the deposit. They are now asking her to pay the full amount for the holiday web though she wants to cancel. They said it was on some form they sent her to sign which she has never seen!

Yeah they said that to me! What it is when she would have booked the holiday they would have sent an email of t&c's and low deposit agreements etc etc anyway if she's even opened them emails then in there t&c's it says if the email has been opened (which they can see!) and the customer hasn't queried it within one week of opening the email they assume that there ok with the conditions. If that makes sense! Just tell her to keep fighting it they will throw loads of threats at her but personally I don't believe they follow through so just keep arguin it out with them !

Hi, I'm having the same problem now. Did they try and take the payment from your credit/debit card on the due date? As they keep your card details on file after you pay the deposit. I'm due to pay the balance on 25th feb, but have told them I want to cancel. I'm worried they will take the payment. I've been to my bank and they can't stop it as its a card payment they will take not a direct debit. Any suggestions or advice?

Hi, they didn't try and take any payments of my card infact I didn't hear anythin from them till at least 2 weeks after my final pay date. But if I was u I would cancel ur debit card just to be on the safe side I did that. Just keep arguin ur case good luck!

Thanks for your advice. I went to my bank to cancel my card, and they told me it wouldn't stop them taking the money as they can link in to a me card. Not sure how true this is!

I am currently in the same battle as you with imperial travel. I paid 400 deposit told them I wanted to cancel my holiday to Cyprus and they are trying to get me to pay a further £978 which I do not have or if I did am not willing to pay when I was not going until august and they will probably sell to someone else.

That's what I said to them that they would sell the holiday on to someone else anyway! They told me I had to pay the cost of te flights which was £800 but the letter I received this week says I owe £1210! The person I was meant to go with is now ignoring my texts and as the holiday is in my name it's now become my problem! I think they are totally unreal with their demands I just don't know what to do now! Could really do with some advice off anyone who has gone through this and had an outcome. Please help!

I have been having email conversation and keep on telling them I will not pay any thing else. Asked for there code of practice but they ignored this. After a number of emails I got a strange response saying that they had spoken to abtas legal team but I did not request this. I find this strange as surely if they thought they were in the right why would they do this?

hello I am in the same situation, I booked for me and two of my mates and they've backed out, rang imperial literally shouting down the phone at me saying I still have to pay the full amount? I thought when you cancel you lose the deposit?? But oh no they want the full amount, I've had a snotty letter off them today saying I've got 14 days to pay it but I simply cannot afford it with 'mates' who are refusing to pay it, but it in my name what do I do? I've been threatened with going to court? What exactly did you do? They are soooo rude!

Hi, I posted a comment in feb after I cancelled my holiday with them, they threatened me with all kinds then I heard no more, until yesterday when I received a letter saying if I don't pay in 5 days they will pass it on to a debt collector or take me to court! My so called friend is ignoring my texts and the holiday is in my name! Can anyone help has this happened to anyone else and what was the outcome? Please help!!! X
