This machine was recalled and when it came back it was worse than when I sent it in. HP does not stand behind their products, knew of this problem and did nothing to rectify it. This is nothing but an expensive paper weight and I purchased a top of the line custom built laptop. Their customer service lies to you and management doesn't return calls promised to return. Once you pay they forget you bought a so called good product. I have purchased several HP computers but the service I got with this laptop, which was basically lies and no service, made up my mind to go elsewhere to purchase my computers going forward. If you are smart you will not buy an HP and won't put a new mother board in a zd7000, it's wasted money. Those in other countries that say the USA got repairs shouldn't be jealous because the repairs HP did made the problem worse for most of us.

I purchased this HP ZD7000 laptop for it's graphics capabilitiies. i would not suggest the zd7000 due to weak power supply, overheating and the weight (9lbs).

I had bought two HP Desktops and was satisfied with those computers so I really thought I had a great deal when I bought this laptop over the much more expensive MAC Pro. What a mistake. My laptop did what everyone else is saying. The motherboard onmine overheated and fried. Will never ever buy an HP again. I bought the MAC Pro and will never go back to a PC...especially an HP.

I bought this laptop new online from HP. I have had it now for a few years (can't remember what year I got it now). I have used it daily, carried it to class (heavy), and to study groups, etc. I was able to play the newest games on it when it was new because I opted for the nicer video card. I sent back to HP because the screen was rubbing the keys and getting messed up. I complained about some other minor things as well because it was close to the end of the 1yr warranty. I sent to HP on ...

I do not recommend wasting your money on what I think are expensive inadequate goods, which have unacceptable design flaws.

HP made a graphics card which for me overheats and the cooling system is insufficient thus causing the computer to get too hot and fry my motherboard.
HP needs to do the right thing and repair these notebooks which were damaged by the faulty graphic cards in my experience!

This laptop was great for the first few months, since then mine has been sent back for repair 5 times. Its burnt out 2 power supplies in my experience, the mother board has overheated and burnt out, the power pin broke off the power socket and the screen has been replaced. This laptop looks good an had good specs at the time I bought it however it is very badly built.Mine is now out of warranty and the screen has to date developed 28 verticle lines of 'dead' pixels due to faulty connections caus ...

I believe the service I have had from HP is at best appalling. It looks to me as though they knew of a fault and have kept this knowledge to themselves. I will certainly not be buying my next machine from HP

I have replaced the screen after just 2 years (800 euros) because of dead pixels.
It s just the warranty times .
And now my screen is operational but is getting randomly black. It occurs 2 days after receiving the notebook.
HP told me that the problem is the motherboard (400 euros).I, m very angry about that.
i think that HP technician has damaged my notebook.

There is a known fault in the way it handles RAM instruction (mainly with photo shop). There should have been a total recall of all these machines, except its HP. Once they have your money they couldn't care less. The worst customer support ever!

This model has a known fault. The graphics chip runs hot and the case is inadequately cooled, so eventually the motherboard is fried. The first symptom is the occasional problem with the display - the screen is black though the machine is running properly. Restarting usually restores the display at first. Later, vertical coloured lines appear on the screen and the failures to start become more frequent, then the display packs up altogether. In the US, machines with this problem have been repaire ...

For the time it did work, it allowed me plenty of gaming experience. The large screen was the primary reason for this buy. But that's about it.

When using the optical media, the OS would stutter. Even while playing CD's you can't run a decent application on the HP ZD7000 laptop. The GFX card is blown I guess, and it won't drive any external monitors. Also, it heats up like an oven and the touch pad is useless.

It's great if you are looking for a "Disposable Laptop". I always thought HP made a superior product, but will never buy a HP again!

It heats up. The video card is bad and the motherboard is also bad. I had to finally buy another laptop - 1 year after buying this!! Absolutely ridiculous!

The HP ZD7000 laptop offers good sound and performance while it lasts.

Unfortunately, the laptop has a common fault with the on-board graphics card burning out.

It has been a waste of time and money. I have spent hours on the HP support telephone just for them to tell me I have got to spend another £400 for a new motherboard.

Bought my HP ZD 7000 2 months ago and was extremely pleased with the product, however the screen went black a month ago and HP have gone have sice impressed me with thier ineptitude, here in New Zealand they offer third world service, although they have had it a month they have yet to a) Confirm the problem b) Correct the problem at present they believe it to be the CPU. They never phone or email and after repeated angry exchanges they have given me a sub-standard loan computer. Their service is ...

I've own 4 different types of Laptops from various manufacturers. After reading all the reviews on the ZD7000, I ordered a custom built model. It's been two months since I ordered the ZD7000 and haven't had one single problem. The DVD burner works great and I haven't had one single problem.

The Media Center Operating system Add on to XP for the HP ZD7000, is kinda neat. But Its nothing that Manufactures of TV tuner cards have been including with there packages. But Like I noted above. The system only fan for 4 hours, so I did not get to do much.
