The apartments are brilliant for beach location / view, shops and bus stops. However they are very basic and in need of a face lift, on a busy road and noisy at times from game machines in reception. Staff are very friendly. Beware Air conditioning is at a price and so is a simple kettle (a bit of a rip off). For the price payed I guess the deal wasn't too bad but I would not reccomend to a posh or fussy friend.

Santa Ponsa is ok, its decent, clean but is a little boring after 7 days and a bit limited. The Irish bit is a big attraction but it seems to tone down at midnight for noise reasons, sitting outside listening to live music one minute.... the glass doors of the pub shut the next and then you couldn`t hear anything ! There are a few more lively bars and a club for the younger element but even they didnt look too kicking.
Potrtofino Appts are ok, they are large and very clean, altho not luxur ...

This is the second year we have stayed in the Portofino apartments. We have found the apartments spacious and location very good as you are far away enough late at night from the Irish part although not to far away to join in the fun. We went as a family who enjoy a night out however the hotel staff were very unpleasant when returning at night complaining that we were making too much noise.

Would return to these apts no problem. Met a lot of people who book year after year. We went mid April and used the local buses for exploring.
Only thing was to be careful about connection times when changing buses in Palma. Check the timetables as we missed buses by seconds then had to wait an hour or so for next. Maybe different in the height of the season.

Santa Ponsa is a lovely resort, the Portofino Apartments are situated in a quieter area of Santa Ponsa, which is not a bad thing as it means a good night sleep. The beach is a stones throw away, Rickie's bar is a great place for either breakfast or an evening meal, good food at good prices. Just up the road is the Salsa Bar, meals served til early evening, then it becomes a bar, they are very welcoming and a wealth of information. I would avoid the Rovers Return at all cost, it's just round th ...

This resort is fab. It is very clean and family friendly and would highly recommend it to anyone we know. We are already considering going back next year and would again stay at the Portofino apartments. We would highly recommend Rickie's Rest below the apartments which offers good food and huge portions. Also enjoyed spending many nights at the Jaggy Thistle pub which is just 5 mins away.

After my Parents took my two children to the Portofino apartments in Santa Ponsa for 4 years and always coming home and booking up straight away for the next year, last year me and my husband as well as my sister and young daughter joined them and had a fantastic time.

Rickies restaurant, which was next to apartments does a great Scottish cooked breakfast. Sets you up for the day! Also Scotch Corner and Jaggy Thistle were great pubs and very welcoming. I can't wait to go back!

The Portofino apartments are ideal for people who like a lively nightlife but like to sleep in quieter surroundings.
I recommend you try Rickie's next door, as the food ius very good.
The Jaggy Thistle sells Tennant's lager, which is a change from Heineken.
I was concenred that there were a load of steps to the pool, which the Portofino shares with the Sorrento, but a lift has been installed to save your legs.
Did not try food so cannot comment on it
