Good Points: Loads of kids to play with if you have kids. Good entertainment for kids.

Bad Points: Staff attitude, food, drinks, lack of detail, too busy, too few sun loungers, does not represent value for money, cattle class feel.

General comments: This is the second year we stayed at the Cala Vinas Hotel. Last year the experience was totally different. We had returned this time due to the nice suite with blackout curtains, reasonably quiet pool area and good food.

How things have changed. This time, our suite with it's beautiful view of the delivery slope was much smaller and sleeping past 10am was impossible with the light.

Our party was split in two and 3 of the guests were sent to the neighbouring Cala Vinas hotel. Only after an argument were we able to get wristbands for both hotels. Even though it was their mistake, they seemed to think it okay that half our party ate and drank at one hotel and half at the other.

The pool areas this year were unbelievably crowded. I do not have any problem with kids being around but the sheer volume ruined it. The place felt like a kindergarten. We had arguments about sun loungers as many guests had towels down yet didn't use the loungers for literally hours.

Food this year is lower in quality and the lovely steaks from last year seem to have given way to cheaper food. We spent £1400 on a suite for two all inclusive. This, plus the rudeness of some staff and the above has left me very disappointed. We may as well have stayed down the Magaluf mayhem.

Certainly won't be staying again here and it definitely does not the deserve the status of 4.5 star. Beware of the beautiful reception because as soon as you step out of it, it stops.

I'm writing this review having just been woken up by a woman who let herself into our room at 9.20am reminding us with a clipboard we are checking out today. We were still in bed.

I went with my friend and her family to Magaluf and we stayed at the Cala Vines Hotel. There were 13 of us altogether, and every single one of us loved it. It's only a 10 to 15 minute walk to Magaluf, which is more lively. Everything in the hotel was brilliant! The food, the staff, everything.

There are a couple of pubs and shops just across the street.

I loved it, and I would definitely go back. If you need more information, just leave a comment.

The Cala Vinas Hotel in Magaluf is quite a nice hotel - we booked a late deal off of Teletext and we could have done a lot worse. It is a 3 Star hotel with a great sea view and a large swimming pool. The food in the restaurant was good quality and the staff really seemed to make an effort with you. The hotel is situated on a beach cove with the sand and sea directly in front. There is plenty of seating which is good for sleeping off the night before if you take the short trip to the hustle and b ...
