Good Points: I've used this Canon LiDE 80 flatbed scanner for several years and loved it, especially the ease of buttons on front.
BUT - it was with my old computer with XP System.

Bad Points: I have a new Dell Dimension C521 Computer with Vista System and the Tool Box and front buttons don't work.

General comments: Who is to blame - Canon or Microsoft - for the fact that no-one is able to upgrade the Scanner to work with Vista?

See above points - Canon need to bring out a new driver for the Mac G5. The disc software AND the website softsite ware doesn't work properly.

I'll come clean...I am the casual user of Canon LiDE 80 Flatbed, in fact it is primarily just for old photos that I use this machine but I've found this easy enough and the beauty of it lies in it's simple one touch operation. It really was as simple as closing the lid and hit the scan button on the front. One note of caution...it comes with a stand to allow you to store it upright but I found this less stable than it ought to be and it nows lies flat.
