This car is just perfect,it does all i ask of it with ease,i have owned the car for three years and in that time i have toured Scotland, and Norfolk, also i have been on many long distance runs,it has never missed a beat,it has all the proformance anyone could wish for + its good on fuel(around 35 miles per gallon, thats motorway driving when on holiday)but as i live in Cornwall it only does around 30 mpg, still not bad for a 321 hp motor,i do all the servicing myself down at my friends garage,he… Read Full Review

“Z3M Roadster 3.2”

Written on: 24/12/2011

Awesome looks and performance. Quality interior with excellent seats and lots of leather. Been totally reliable and the addition of the hard top is a real bonus in the winter. Feels much faster than my old 350Z and feels much better put together despite being older. No need for electronic traction control rear LSD handles things well. Does everything a sports car should do and for sensible money… Read Full Review

bought the Z3M only a few months ago, the car is brill to drive and a stunner to look at but the last few weeks it has been in the garage awaiting repair, after a drive out with friends they asked me to check the boot welds as there are well known that they have a design fault and the welds come apart, I then asked the z roadster.com forum advise they said that bmw know about the design fault and will not put it right. After checking this with bmw i am left with a costly repair because of there… Read Full Review

I bought my BMW Z3M roadster about seven months ago and have not regretted it for one moment; it is fitted with hamann 19 inch wheels hamann sill protectors and hamann exhaust system which makes an awesome noise at the higher rev range. I am taking it in to be remapped at a local specialist which will take it up to 347 brake! Can't wait. Then in May I am taking it to its home in Germany for a long weekend on the Nurburgring so I can learn to drive it properly you just cannot do it safely on the… Read Full Review

Well I'm in the process of buying a US 2002 BMW Z3M roadster, can't wait to bring it home. Took it out last weekend and was totally impressed with everything, from power to styling, nice low rumble. And even the glove box is okay. This particular car is the 15th last car to be built in the US according to the VIN. Its so smooth when you behave and a total beast when you boot it. As an ex-british sports car owner this by far beats anything else I've driven. It will be a collector now. I think… Read Full Review

it is such a sexy car, a lot of people tend to think its just a girls car but when you show what it can do you turn round to them and say now what do you think and their mouths are still open. I love driving it because the growl of it when you put your foot down it sounds fantastic. The two twin exhasts at the back of the car makes it look wild… Read Full Review

I bought a 1998 immaculate imola red M Roadster. I absolutely love it, but it's a weekend machine only for me, not practical enough for every day use when I live in a wet climate and have 4 young children. On first drive it didn't feel as fast as I expected, but once you know it loves to rev right though to the red line this car is an absolute rocket. A fantastic machine. I timed it 0-60 with a friend driving and got there in 5.05 seconds… Read Full Review

The welds in the boot are a problem with the Z3 M, but contact BMW I know of a lot of people who have raised the issue with BMW and regardless of history the have done the repairs free of charge.

Love my BMW Z3 M 3.2 Roadster. Don't know if I'd want one as an only car as I live where it snows. The car is fun, fast and exciting to drive. The trunk doesn't look big but it holds a lot of groceries. My only complaint would be the top is a little hard to lock down but I love it… Read Full Review

“BMW Z3 M 3.2 Roadster Sports Car Review:”

Written on: 05/10/2004 by jonasdp (1 review written)

BMW Z3 M 3.2 Roadster Sports Car Review:
For those people who have never experienced the pleasure given by driving a BMW Motorsport engine you should definitely experience it. The 3200 cc engine coupled with twin Vanos offer meteoric acceleration all the way through to 155 mph. You will reach 100 mph in just over 11 seconds and 60 in just over 5 seconds. The car can be a little hairy when driving hard imto corners in the wet but this is true of all BMW's. I would strongly recommend the AC… Read Full Review

Uncle Scrooge's Response to 173028_jonasdp's Review

Written on: 19/03/2008

You are correct to point out the problems with he variable valve timing system. I have had a Z3 M roadster from new. After about 30,000 miles and 6 years of driving the vanos solonoid cover plate exploded (I suspect a solonoid O ring failed) and sheared the three screws which hold it down. This caused a complete loss of engine oil. Fortunately I was able to stop immediately the oil warning light came on. Damage caused: severe grooving to the solonoid housing, Solonoid O ring recess ripped. This required a vanos unit replacement (replacement parts in excess of £2000+vat). I now check my vanos solonoid O rings every 5,000 miles. Idiot that I am I still Love my car even with all its faults And there are more!. By the way, I think you mean an in line six cylinder engine.
