“Booked a short break 4 nights from Tues 20th October....”

★★★☆☆

written by on 26/10/2009

Booked a short break 4 nights from Tues 20th October. Unfortunately, one of the friends I was due to meet passed away a week before the break. I contacted Seaview via Hoseasons who allowed an extra night (Mon) for the funeral at no extra cost. Caravan was basic and clean. Comfy bed. All we wanted. Was a great base for walks and visiting my friends in Looe. The pool was lovely and warm, excellent for my spinal problems. Only downside, no WiFi and poor mobile signal. I needed to find a phone number and the site payphone bars 118 etc numbers. Friends had a chalet and it seemed adequate. We had the van based on price, well cheap and suited us fine. Would suggest that if you have the basic Crown caravan, you take small heaters for the bedrooms if staying during the cold months. Only a single gas heater in the main living area, but was adequate. Would have no problem stopping again and probably will be again soon.

“We enjoyed our stay here. The site is well maintained...”

We enjoyed our stay here. The site is well maintained but you get the feeling it needs a bit of investment money to bring it up to date. It is clean and tidy, the evening entertainment is good-natured and the bar & food prices were OK (I would not have been happy to pay more though - Seaview, take note!). We went at the end of the season (mid-October) so I think things were winding down for the winter. If you are expecting sophisticated facilities, you may be disappointed: we wanted somewhere clean, reasonably priced, close to the Cornish villages we had come to see & where we could have a few drinks & a bar meal in the evenings, and we found it here. We would visit again, based on our experience this time

“Read some reviews before I arrived was a bit put off....”

Read some reviews before I arrived was a bit put off. Arrived 23rd August first impression of camp a nice small site where you can find your accommodation easy, staff were very friendly. Then we entered chalet hit by the smell we checked it over yes it needs updating new carpets and seating for a start but we thought what the heck we only paid £389 for week we wouldn't be sitting in here all week. We had come to see Cornwall. We have stayed at other places for weekends and paid as much. With some of same problems listed on reviews anyway I thought for what we paid it was fine the entertainment was good, the bar food was alright what do people want the Hilton on a budget.

“We had not been to this park in over 20 years, we...”

We had not been to this park in over 20 years, we could see not much had changed other than the indoor pool. We were very lucky as we booked a very expensive caravan which made our holiday. The views to Talland bay were breathtaking. Shame the weather was not great enough to enjoy it more. The site location is wonderful just 5 mins to Polperro or Looe. The entertainment however was not that great, The site entertainer was brilliant with the kids but Firebird were just a complete waste of time, the bar emptied out in an hour or so, the only good thing about them was the snake and he didin't do much. They were laughable in fact I felt embarssed just watching them, we had to leave before the act finished. The comedian was good fun however the rest of the acts were just average. We would love to come back after the improvements are made in a couple of years.

“The Seaview Holiday Village accommodation was basic...”

The Seaview Holiday Village accommodation was basic but, we were expecting this. Our caravan was old fashioned but clean and adequate.
Fantastic views across Talland bay.
We just used it as a base whilst exploring the area and most evenings the entertainment was good,
Firebird international in particular were worth seeing.

“When I first saw the reviews on this site after...”

★★★★☆

written by on 01/06/2008

When I first saw the reviews on this site after booking, I was slightly worried, but I think some people are to fussy, and complaining and moaning and leaving there holiday, is very silly to spoil you family's holiday, when Looe is a beautiful place and the site had all you needed, make the most of what you have, life is to short.

When we arrived at Seaview, the site was not the best. I had seen it looked as if it needed a little updating, but we were greeted by friendly staff. The caravan was very clean, the light bulb did not work in the bathroom, as soon as I told them a very friendly man came and fixed it right away. the location was very nice, lovely seaviews. The swimming pool was warm and clean and it was checked every day, It was to cold to go in the outside swimming pool, but it looked very nice, it was clean. The entertainment was very good, and got the kids involved, I was very happy with the entertainment. The food on site was lovely, very big and really cheep, we ate on the site most nights. We had 4 caravans all together and there was 12 of us, ranging from a 5 year old to a 85 year old, and we had a lovely week and everyone was happy and enjoyed there self. I would recommend this site. It was a little old and not very big, but it had all you needed on site, and my little girl enjoyed herself very much.

“When I first saw the reviews on this site I was...”

★★★★☆

written by Jenna123 on 31/05/2008

When I first saw the reviews on this site I was slightly worried. It was not the biggest site I have been on and needed a little updating, but it was clean and tidy. I am very lucky to have a holiday with the people I love, and I made the most of what I had. There are people in this world who have never had a holiday.

When we first arrived we were greeted by very friendly staff, the caravan was very clean. I had a nice seaview. The pool was warm and clean, it was checked every day. It was to cold to go in the outdoor pool, but it was large and clean and they opened it on request. The entertainment hall was a little small, but the entertainment was good, and the kids entertainment was great, my little girl loved it and enjoyed herself very much. The food on site was very cheep and it was large, we ate on site most night, you can eat in or take away, the shop had everything you needed. We had a walk down to Talland bay, it was a fairly long down hill walk, but it was a lovely walk through the woods, and the bay was lovely. The walk back up the hill was not as good, but the ice lolly helped. We had 4 caravans all together and there was 12 of us, ranging from the age of 5 to 85 years old, and we all enjoyed ourselves very much. I would recommend this holiday site.

I agree with this review because...

we have spent years going to Cornwall and staying at different sites, and staying at Seaview was the best ever, and are looking forward to returning.

Glad to see that someone else has enjoyed their stay at Seaview. We have just returned from there and despite the awful weather we had a really good time. The park is so pretty and the staff are really friendly and helpful. We will be back next year.
