Good Points: Extremely versatile , well suited to all types of music, but does take time to get use to
Bad Points: A bit pricey but worth every penny
General comments: Great amp , brilliant in every department , some might say its too much money, but once you here this amp you will never want another amp

Mesa Boogie Mark IV has a great amp. Lots of tonal choices with all the different push/pull buttons. Great tones, I think the clean is good and the crunch is extra crunchy! LOUD! Why doesn't the foot controller have the reverb built into it? You have to buy an on/off switch separately to turn on the built in reverb.

I used one of the earlier Mesa Boogie about 4 years or more - use one with a JP Les Paul and you will have THE sound everyone wants. The tubes were very expensive to replace especially in the UK. The amp is now over £2000 in the UK and its a complete rip off by the distributor. The amp has huge power thought and remains one of the best sounding products in the world.
The recording out is great - you can turn off the speaker while recording direct and the sound is excellent.

Mesa Boogie Mark IV - Just buy one! This is the best amp in the world, period. Ofcially 85 watts, but it sound more like 200 and Mesa know it. It has a 200watt EV driver in it. Heard the old models, pre-'95, had problems with overheating and noisy fans. Not so the new one.
Never had so many compliments on my sound as when using this three channel amp. Try to avoid the tendancy to use graphic all the time so you can kick it in for a mega boost.
I understand the same circuit as the triax ...
