I odered tyres online to match tyres already on the vehicle. They fitted a different tyre without mentioning that they didn't have the tyre I ordered. They charged me for nitrogen fill in all 4 tyres which wasn't requested or ordered. They also said tracking needed adjustment and charged me over £30 for something they did in 5 minutes. The price of the tyres was the going rate but overall value still has to be POOR. A letter of complaint to HQ only got a poor response from ATS Penzance... (read more)

Went to ats in Wishaw got my cars tracking computer aligned its still pulling to the left. Got told some garbage that its the roads. That have a left angle camber it's not silverstone I'm driving on no road should have that much angle. Got told to take it to the motorway still pulling. It's accurate to 10th of mil aye right. Took my alfa romeo spider in after exhaust went. Told I needed a totally brand new exhaust, even though car was MOTd in November and given a full service 3 weeks ago. Didn't trust them and could see where the exhaust had gone, at the flexpipe. I phoned my usual garage and they said they could just fit a new flexipipe. Don't trust these people!!!! (read more)

ATS Damaged the wheel of my car, by snapping off a wheel nut whilest trying to remove the tyre,after taking it in for a simple puncture.The Manager of the centre and Area Manager refused immediatley to accept responsibilty,stating they felt the garage that last took the wheels off previously had cross threaded the nuts.It was eventually agreed after a lot of arguing that if it could be proved during the fitting it had not been crossed threaded then they would pay for the damage. “Avoid Dundee ATS tyre centre”

Got new tyres and was sold a wheel alignment for my Audi. I was bemused when it took them 10 minutes to figure out how to get the wheels off. That's not the worst part, after supposedly doing a wheel alignment the steering wheel sat off centre, I took it back asked them to fix it. It came back out the same. After feeling a small vibration on the rear of the car - I called into the ats depot at ripon. After being greeted by an over familiar man whos every other word was "darling", "sweet heart" and "princess" he then proceeded to tell me he knew exactly what was wrong with the car even though he hadn't even looked at it!!? Please take my advice and take your vehicle to another garage, I was fooled into thinking that the ATS centre in Wash Road in Hutton would offer a reliable, honest, friendly service, but was very much mistaken. I took my vehicle in for the tracking to be checked and was handed back the keys and told my vehicle had been left by the side of the road, a small distance from the centre, after the mechanic had burnt out the strater motor and turned off the ignition. My wife took our car to Clacton ATS to have brakes checked was told need front disc's and pads quoted £116 when she went to pay they would not give her bill just told her it was £200 she told them this was wrong but they would not listen. When she got home i checked bill they had charged for 4 disc's but only fitted 2. i am trying to get money back but so far no luck. DO NOT USE ATS they will rip you off. (read more)

As my transit van was having trouble starting on a morning I took it to ATS Euromaster in Cleckheaton for a free battery check, They showed me the print out which said 75% start up capacity and battery unserviceable and told me this meant the battery was no good and they could sell me another for over £100, I then told them the battery had been bought from them less than two years ago and had a three year warranty, this seemed to throw them and they then told me they did not have the... I think I'll take you up on that, since I took my car in for an oil and filter change yesterday and was then quoted £75 for replacement of a battery that doesn't need replacing and £233 to replace a spring that they claim is faulty (I'll be getting my regular mechanic's opinion on that one), when I can get the original equipment one for £70.
I didn't ask for a battery check, as it's only a year old, is well within the warranty period and I have never once had any trouble with it. I didn't ask for any checks on the suspension either.
Are these guys on commission for drumming up any extra work they can get from the customer?

I have a fleet car and I am obliged to source tyres from this company. First visit to their branch in East Grinstead and I walked out because of the appalling attitude of the fellow that was "serving" me. Onto Crawley who had a better attitude but fitted the wrong size tyres. When this was discovered by Kwik Fit at the time they fitted new brakes, ATS denied all knowledge! having a new Cat fitted the fitter told me the job would take at least two hours and expected me to leve him to it however I came back and found my car on the ramp and him doing asolutely nothing...for at least half an hour when he became aware I was present. I had the same thing with 'happysometimes' this year at ATS. They charge extra 4 Pounds for N2 inflation which I first consider tips. The comprehensive service with MOT charge 189 Pounds. However, they only change oil filter, air filter and engine oil in such expensive comprehensive service and did not do other check. My car broke down 3 weeks after this comprehensive service with failure of alternator.... (read more)

The worst thing is that after spending another 250 Pounds with them to replace alternator today, the car can not be started. They told me it a flat battery. Even the original battery is not broken. they ask me to change a new battery. After finding another more reasonable garage to charge my battery, I decide to move the car away. However, after they jumpstarted my car, and I drove away i found my battery warning light is still on and even worse, there is horrible thick gas coming from the tail pipe, which never happens to my Ford Focus. I did not know what they did to my car!!!! I begin with a drivable Ford, and after spending over 400 pounds at ATS and got a broken car! Most horrible experience in my life at Cambridge ATS!

I used this garage on recomendation from a friend, and I wasn't disappointed, from the moment I stepped in the garage I was welcomed with a friendly smile from the manager, and been a women I felt at ease (which you dont feel at most garages). Arrived without an appointment, was greeted by the Manager who was very curteous. Vehicle was checked immediately and the mechanic reported that a nail had gone through the side wall of the tyre and needed replacing. They had one in stock and fitted it and checked the balancing out as well. Discussed potentially replacing all discs and pads with the mechanic who was really helpful. I had the misfortune of trying to get assistance from ATS in Poole. The manager Brian Fooks is a miserable, unhelpful man in the wrong position as apparent 'manager' at this store. Apparently, the store closes at 5.30pm but God forbid you should arrive at 5.05pm as this does not leave Brian and his team any time to assist you before he gets himself to the pub. I had a warning light on my car but Mr Fooks said he could not assist as the test would take 20 mins/30 mins and he didn't have time.... (read more)

Recently visited clacton branch for a air con regas at £44.99 when I went to pay was told £48.97 was told vat as to be added so ok when I got home checked the paper work noticed that the vat was included in the £44.99 but had been charged for nitrogen inflation at £3.98 which I never asked for but also when checking the booklet I was given it says nitrogen inflation(this is put in your tyres) 50p per tyre so was overcharged there so please people always check your bill before leaving... Hmmm, well I noticed i had got a puncture when parking at london zoo so I inflated the tyre noted the pressure and spent 5 hours at the zoo with the family. When I came out I checked the pressure the tyre had lost 5 psi in 5 hours. I put another 5 psi in and drive home to Hampton, checked the pressure when I returned and found I had lost no pressure with the tyres still warm. In other words a very slow puncture. I spent £250:00 on my BMW 320D for the complete reaer brake disc, drum, pads and shoes. it is worse now than before I had them done! The Manager in DORCHESTER DORSTE ATS EUROMASTER lied to me on many occasions. This company is an absolute shambles. Don't be fooled by the relatively courteous call centre and customer services staff who appear to give false reassurances on promises that NEVER materialise. Took our car to ATS Galashiels for its MOT last year (early 2011) Every thing seemed fine. New tyres on the front which we knew needed replacing and brakes needed adjusting after the sitting on the drive for weeks on end over the terrible snow that winter. Seemed fair for the work done and decent pirelli tyres (£280 all in). Having worked in the motor trade for many many years before retiring I would just like to comment quickly on the above review, My largest concern is why any competent garage would feel the need to burn the "nuts" off hence damaging your wheels ? I experienced many problems in my latter years working on cars as "locking" wheel nuts became more common and believe it or not they are very easly damaged depending on type of lock nut etc, With a little time and effort any damaged lock nut can be removed without causing damage to the wheel but burning them off is never an option with alloy wheels that I am assuming you have ! Hence I would be questioning if they had in actual fact been damaged before your visit to your locally owned garage or on that visit ?

Arrived and said they would give me a ring about midday. ONE TYRE LOOKED A BIT SOFT. I HAD PUMPED IT UP ABOUT A MONTH BEFORE. THEY REPORTED A PREVIOUS PUNCTURE WAS NOT DONE PROPERLY. THEY UNDONE THE PREVIOUS REPAIR AND THEN SAID THEY COULD NOT REPAIR THE OLD PUNCTURE. LL THEY WANTED WAS TO SELL A NEW TYRE. INSTEAD I ASKED THEM TO FIT THE SPARE WHEEL INSTEAD. I do not understand why Malkyboy1983 is commenting on all these? it does not show any sort of professionalism.
I can see that he/she is just trying to justify the complaints but they need to be written in a more professional way rather than passing all the blame on to the CUSTOMER. After all, the customer is always right.

My car failed on mot at another local mot staion. They failed it on emissions and quoted me for a cat and sensors for £510. I took my car to Ats brentwood to get a second opinion because my dad has been going there for free. After 30 mins they worked out that it was just a sensor not working and they fixed it within 2 hours by ordering part it cost £80 fitted. Fixed then took it back for mot. The other company were not happy. Ats in brentwood very good and very happy customer thank-you. (read more)

I had a free brake review on my Hyundai coupe because my brakes were squeeking, I took it into ATS PLYMOUTH who said my back brakes needed replacing (pads/shoes and discs) £450 not a problem except that when i drove out the squeek was still there. I had work done on my car in March 2011 at the ATS garage Penarth Road, Cardiff. Dave behind the counter was very helpful, friendly and explained everything clearly for me. Dave did a great deal for me so I returned for my MOT (no work needed!!!). Shook my hand at the end of transaction and told me to keep in touch. Gentleman. March 2012, took my car back for its MOT. Took a car for a brake assessment...quoted for lots of work...work completed but discovered the ABS sensor had been damaged...ATS said not down to them!!!...3 months later the rear caliper seized causing damage to the newly fitted disc and pad...truly the worst cowboys out there...find a good reliable local garage and stick with them. Malktboy - because they failed to spot the condition of the caliper whilst recommending a disc and pad change. The new disc and pad were ruined when the caliper totally seized. after 3 months use.

I took my car for an mot in feb 2012 and new that some work needed doing but when it failed on something i did'nt expect i wanted a second appinion.It failed on omissions,badly. They told me to take it to a garage they use who specialise in this and they quoted me around £400+ to sort the problem.I decided to take it to another garage for my second appinion and they retested the omissions to find there was absolutely nothing wrong and could not work out how they managed to get such bad... Went to get a new tyre on Tuesday morning, they didn't have it in stock but said they would order one in. Went back the next day and they said it would be in the day after. Went again on Thursday only to find out it hadn't been ordered at all. Finally got a different tyre to the one originally quoted for on Friday only to be charged £90 for a tyre that costs £50 off the internet and when I raised this point was told that this was a more expensive tyre when it certainly isn't. I had my car booked in for tracking check at 1000, arrived at 1000 to be told there had been a mix up and they'd booked another car in during my slot. My main gripe however, is that the manager said f*** infront of my 5 year old daughter. Unacceptable. (read more)

“Terrible tracking service”

They made me wait over an hour to track my wheel allignment instead they displaced my steering wheel when i raised my issue to the staff he trys fobbing me off saying it was already like that when brang the car in, terrible mannered staff very rude and aggressive, i would recommend everyone to go to main dealer because these guys simply dont know what they are doing. Booked car in to get exhaust repaired. Checked correct part in stock, was told it was, so was extremely disappointed to OVERHEAR that it didn't fit. Was appalled the manager tried to fob me off with excuse apparently given by supplier that "the exhaust must have been incorrectly fitted at the factory" RUBBISH!!! Gave them a chance to rectify & get correct part from another supplier - BIG MISTAKE! The manager went away for lunch and couldn't be contacted. I waited again in a freezing cold... (read more)

Booked service & MOT. Service found split in rear tyre, and advised of fault in suspension that would not fail test, but needed attention at some time. Not pushy at all. Very pleasant experience. Also advised that front tyres near to limit but still had some mileage left so to check on a regular basis.I liked the fact that there was no suggestion of spurious work needing to be carried out. Mistakes do get made, But ripping customers is a disgrace
