“Never ever ever go to kwik fit”

Written on: 24/11/2016 by vqGriffin-Alt343 (1 review written)

My exhaust started 'blowing' at the weekend. When I looked properly, the exhaust was loose and hanging. I drove it to kwik fit a as they were the closest and I was worried it would come off altogether. They called me and told me that back box to the exhaust had completely snapped, both parts had badly corroded and the catalytic converter section is hard to get and would have to be ordered through. This would cost £586. I contacted the garage across town which I normally use but was too… Read Full Review

“Rip off - paid double the cost of anywhere else”

Written on: 14/11/2016 by black2black (1 review written)

I want to make sure that everyone is aware that Kwik-Fit charge twice the cost of any other garage for the replacement of brake discs and brake pads for the same work. The reason for this according to the manager at Kwik-Fit is that they offer a ‘Lifetime Guarantee’ which means they charge double the price for the same work, so you have the added ‘benefit’ of paying twice for future replacement of brakes now rather when the brakes actually need replacing. I visited the Dartford Branch… Read Full Review

“Replacing parts that do not require renewing”

Written on: 29/10/2016 by BryanBenton384 (1 review written)

As a senior citizen living in Kent for two years I used the local Kwik Fit and each year when undertaking the MOT test they said parts needed replacing costing between £300-£500 which I found particularly unusual when I am a low mileage user. The third year took the car to a small back street garage who passed the car for MOT without any repairs. I have since spoken to a mechanic at a small independent garage who confirms that some large garages do charge for unwanted repairs. I will never… Read Full Review

“Company Car or Private Car- 3mm becomes 2mm”

Written on: 16/10/2016 by Treadcarefully (1 review written)

Having been a company car driver for more than 20 years and a private car driver for 1 year, there is a big difference in how they measure tyre depth. When I drove a company car, thy would not change a tyre until it was well below 2mm, they would regularly tell me to come back in 1000 miles, and this would go on 2 or 3 times. I recently took my privately owned vehicle, which needed 1 tyre, the other front tyre was till had another 2000 to 3000 miles of tread, shortly after one of the tyres had… Read Full Review

“Do not use”

Written on: 12/10/2016 by Angelical470 (1 review written)

I was left speechless with the inaccuracy of information and the very unprofessional service I received from Kwik Fit, Market Street, Aberdeen. The mechanic called & said that due to my car failing the MOT, it would cost £1100 to fix but they could do a deal that day and replace it for £900. I had to ask him three times what exactly it had failed on as he would not verify the details. He eventually confirmed that it had failed on the following 4 items; full brake pipes, brake pads at the… Read Full Review

“Nothing quick about KwikFit”

Written on: 10/10/2016 by KamrynMcCain (1 review written)

Why do major lease companies use kwikfit. Every time I need tyres replacing it turns out to be at least a 90 minute wait with no explanations as to why there's a delay. Staff are unprofessional and would rather pop out to the shops or stand around smoking!!! … Read Full Review

“Motability please change your contract”

Written on: 01/10/2016 by cpBroussard409 (1 review written)

If you are a motability customer you will know that you are obligated to go to this company under the terms of your contract with motability, unfortunately I have had to use Kwik fit on many occasions over the last 10years and each time without fail they provide long waiting times even when you have booked an appointment, unusual stock issues with tyres of a standard type and very bad customer services. I have tried to use different depots but the norm is bad customer service and long waiting… Read Full Review

“Rip Off at Billericay Kwik Fit”

Written on: 19/09/2016 by YoselinBurgess (1 review written)

I was a regular user of my local Kwik fit but started to become suspicious that whenever I took the car in for a tyre ot Mot etc they always managed to find something else wrong. The final straw was when I was told that all brakes needed replacing but luckily for me they are doing a promotion on brake parts at the moment and so it will only be a little over £900 ! I took my car to another dealer to check and was told that there was nothing wrong with the brakes. Two years later and two MOT's… Read Full Review

“Complete rip off!!”

Written on: 15/09/2016 by Bethk22 (1 review written)

I am a student who knows very little about car maintenance and therefore took my toyota yaris in for a service in order to keep it in good condition. Despite it passing its MOT a few months previously, kwik fit informed me that all four tyres needed replacing as well as the brake discs and brake pads, amounting to a figure of £650. Shocked by this advise I sought a second opinion from a local mechanic, who informed me that my brakes were in mint condition and whilst two of the tyres may need… Read Full Review

“Terrible Service. Do Not Use”

Written on: 02/09/2016 by Impartial1 (1 review written)

I ordered 4 tyres for my vehicle for home fitting and was given a date and asked for the vehicle to be available for the work to be carried out between 09:00 and 17:30. At 16:00 on the day of fitting I was called by the mobile tyre fitter to be told that he was stuck over 200 miles away and that he would be to fit my tyres before 10:00 next day. Well, 10:00 came and went so I called the local depot to be told that my tyres hadn't even arrived at the depot yet. Who was telling lies? Now, I don't… Read Full Review

“Awful service”

Written on: 01/09/2016 by 221Lewis (1 review written)

I booked an MOT last Tuesday at KwifFit at the Maldon site but their computer wasn't working. However, the receptionist confirmed that he had reserved a slot for me this morning. When I arrived for morning, the appointment wasn't booked on their system. I wasn't impressed with the customer service and advise people to think twice before booking and wasting their time. KwifFit didn't even appologize for their mistake… Read Full Review

“Horrendous, won't be back”

Written on: 18/08/2016 by 40fj3 (1 review written)

They lied twice about brakes needing replacement, when these had been recently replaced elsewhere. I had this checked in an independent garage later, which confirmed that brakes were fine. They kept repairing repeatedly failing cooling system without checking for and addressing underlying issues, leading to repeated failures and costly damage to engine (no refund for any of their repairs, they only paid for some of the following engine repairs and servicing after some hassle). They also had… Read Full Review

“disgusting customer service WORTHING”

Written on: 08/08/2016 by starburst72 (1 review written)

total lack of customer care , rude off hand manner, zero concern for customer , unable to answer phone ,but excellent at "cutting off" calls!! Unacceptable delays and no communication with customer.Oh and don't ask for staff names and position held in order to put in an official complaint because you won't get any response.....wonder why that would be?? Why wouldn't a staff member want to disclose their position and name? Could it be that they actually knew they were wrong and treated the… Read Full Review

“They killed my wheels”

Written on: 04/08/2016 by Dr.Gunsmith (1 review written)

I paid for my tyres to be fitted, they came to my door then it all went wrong, they snapped and destroyed my wheel locking nuts and also broke my only locking key, so could not get my wheels off then told me they don't know how to remove broken shattered locking nuts from my wheels and then told me I had to sort it all out then call them back so they could fit my tyres, they just left me with no help and in a right mess and with a very big problem, took me days to sort out and they had to be… Read Full Review

“ Disgraceful Practices , Scaremongering at its best”

Written on: 29/07/2016 by Hailiey24 (1 review written)

I am a time served automotive Technician. i visited Kwick fit as my elderly neighbour had booked his car in for an AC regass online and i took it for him. In the time i was in the centre (around 40 mins) the selling practices i witnessed were just shocking. First of all, i am making the assumption that the majority of people use kwick fit for 1 of 2 reasons. 1)They need to go there as a last resort ie an emergency or other garages are closed. 2) They have no idea about vehicle maintenance… Read Full Review

“Completely incompetent! ”

Written on: 07/07/2016 by Soto1946 (1 review written)

Took my car for a standard Mot, I had used Kwik fit previously and had an average experience. Dropped my car off to receive a call 10 minutes later, they couldn't open my boot? I needed to pick up my car it had failed. I told them I didn't really use the boot but maybe it just needed oiling, he said they'd see what they could do (rather reassuring). Yet apparently they could do nothing as yet again I recieved a call it had failed I had to pick up my car and sort the boot that wouldn't open… Read Full Review

“BEWARE RIP OFF!!”

Written on: 02/07/2016 by Yuliana400 (1 review written)

Had a MOT and it failed, they said it would cost £350 for it to be fixed then magically said I can do it for £320. So where was that extra £30 going? (In their pockets) We got it fixed else where as they are very over priced. They said bring it back with in 7 days for a free re MOT. 2 days later we take it back to be told we need to pay another £20. So all together we have payed £55 for a MOT. Will not be returning.
