Bad Points: None good workers did everything they promised
General comments: Opinions seem to vary from area to area. Went into my local Kwick Fit for MOT, knew it wanted wheel bearing changed, they ordered it, and fitted it same day, it also needed a new tyre. The car was ready for 5.00pm, excellent service, and not too expensive, would use them to have my car serviced.

My experience has led me to conclude that they really lack full mechanical knowledge and do not pay due care and attention. My alternator went and I had it fixed at my local Kwik Fit. After the work my battery started to go flat and when the RAC looked at the car it was discovered that Kwik Fit had not tightened any of the bolts securing the alternator, one was missing and the rest were holding it on by a wing and a prayer. The alternator was leaning, the fan belt was slack and it could've falle ...

I recently needed to get my exahust checked as it sounds like it was blowing, got to kwik fit and had to wait 2 hours for a diagnosis, returned and got told needed a new middle and back box, said ok and they ordered the parts. They arrived 4 hours later and with the incorrect exhaust system (I'd sat around for an hour whilst they tried to fit the wrong exhaust). They re-ordered the new exhaust and I returned Monday. It took them 4 hours to fit it. I paid in good faith and drove the car away. Ove ...

Checked with the call centre that morning slots were available and booked and prepaid a full service.Took the morning off work, drove to the centre only to be told they dont do any slot other than 0830-1730. Called the call centre who again confirmed they operated time slots and the centre manager was wrong; they disagreed and refused to even see if they could get it done that morning, claiming the four cars booked in would be on the ramps for 8 hours and they "fit them in around the jobs that c ...

I am an engineer by profession , I normally carry out my vehicle repairs myself, I had just fitted a new gear box to my Peugeot 406 and while fitting it I discovered there was a small gap where my exhaust pipe is attached to the exhaust manifold and needed a new seal or gasket. The following week, I was so busy with the kids, and decided to go to Kwik Fit to do the work. He quoted me forty-five pounds for the job and to add insult to injury, said he will charge an extra 25 pounds if he has to re ...

I awoke one morning to find all four tyres on my car had been slashed.
I rang numerous company's and kwik fit was the first to answer.
Although I don't think call out is a standard service, I explained my situation and they came out and replaced all four tyres for me.
I've also had brake pads fitted and they have replaced them free of charge under a life time guarantee!

As my exhaust rusted clean apart about 2 months back, we rolled down the hill to Kwik Fit, High Wycombe, to be told it needed a whole new system (well naturally!) costing £300 as this was a "special car requiring special things" ( it's a Peugeot 206!!), got them to do the minimum and just fit a new downpipe for £86. We bought a new exhaust elsewhere and was told Kwik Fit's diagnosis was completely incorrect, they were talking rubbish, and so managed a new exhaust from a car parts p ...

Given what I read about Kwik Fit I was hesitant about using them but thought I'd give it a go and form my own opinion based on the service I received, which turned out to be very good. I'd definitley use them again.

Took my Renault Megane to local Kwik-Fit centre with whine from front of car, knowing something was wrong chose nearest centre for job, Manager jacked car up spun wheels, took it for drive and decided drive shaft or shafts worn cost £193 to replace with genuine Renaults. OK, go ahead I said and booked car in for following week. Took it in, work done but note not genuine Renault Parts fitted, anyway went to visit friends and lo and behold whine returns, have checked again this correctly and ...

I had been to Kwik Fit for a full service (all the previous services were done at a Mercedes show room, I thought I could save some money if I go to Kwik Fit) and my battery needed replacing. The ABS-BSR light was on in my dash board indicating there was something wrong with my brakes. I got a call saying that I had to replace all the brake pads and discs as they were worn out and the ABS-ABR light could be turned off. They charged me £900 (£500 for brake set, tyres and a battery).

Today on Saturday 3rd March 2007 I called at the Darnell branch of Kwik Fit Tyre and Exhaust Centre and waited 50 minutes before my vehicle was looked at to inspect the exhaust system, the middle section was defective and was told it would take about 2 hours for one to arrive. This was OK so I went and did some shopping etc. I went back after I phoned to see if the fitter could fit it, after 45 minutes he drove my vehicle onto the ramp and said "this is the wrong pipe" and the suppliers are now ...

I took my car to Kwik Fit in Aberdeen earlier this year to get a full exhaust system fitted. I chose Kwik Fit despite knowing better because my small local garage was fully booked for the next week and a half. The system was fitted in a few hours and I went back to work. When I arrived home I realised that the exhaust was blowing at the manifold at the front of the car. The next day I took it back and they booked it in for the morning. A young fitter advised me that they needed to fit a gasket o ...

On the 12th January I went into the Bridlington branch of Kwik Fit after hearing a rattling noise under my Mitsubishi Animal. They put the car up onto the ramps and they told me that the baffles in the back box had gone and I would therefore need a full new back box section, but that they would need to order in the part at a cost of £400. I then contacted the garage where my car came from and gave them the information from Kwik Fit and they consequently quoted me £300 to carry out th ...

My car windscreen wipers were better at scratching my windscreen than removing the rain so I needed to replace them. I first went to halfords where there was a dopey looking guy on the counter who had no interest in what I needed. I had wrongly assumed that you could just get the rubber (women drivers). My next stop was Fletchers who I have given a good review to before as they were good but they only had one blade (they obviously don't come in pairs)
My last stop was Kwik fit which is right ...

We had a replacement tyre put on at Kwik Fit Tyre and Exhaust Centre in Cardiff this August. Until we put our car through its MOT a week ago, we thought all was okay. Our car failed its MOT because the tyre they replaced had been put on the wrong way. Apparently the tyre we had has a one way tread?

Driving into Ayr on Friday 14th whilst on holiday. As we drove in I asked my wife if the exhaust seemed to be noisy to her. She replied, 'Yes'. Unbelieveably, we passed the Ayr Kwik-Fit Centre as we were talking. It was 5.30pm on Friday night. I said we would be lucky to get any service. The mechanics showed us where the exhaust was broken and rusted. We drove out of the centre at 5.55pm with two new exhaust parts fitted.

Starting on Jan 2005 I had my middle box replaced by Kwik Fit in Sale upon which I was told I had a guarantee for the part for 2 years. In November 2005 I thought that I heard my exhaust 'blowing' again so I went to my local branch in Preston who advised me that the part had gone in the same place as the original part, and I was told that I couldn't drive the car as it was likely to drop off! So I had to call in work and take a day off unpaid leave. It was replaced immediately under warranty. ...

Online quotation for 2 tyres produced a quote of £144.80, presented to Kwik Fit Tyre and Exhaust Centre Manager, looked at it said he could match/honour it. Fitter appears after 15 minutes not right tyre size as the one coming off, Manager unable to help, charged at £176.24,not able to check out my claim as he has no access to internet! Claimed via HQ quick response, reason given "it's the car manufacturers fault, always putting on different size tyres when they launch new model varia ...
