“What a work of art”

Written on: 04/09/2016 by oldcodger71 (1 review written)

Having only shot a Stoeger springer for the last year I decided to push the boat out and purchase a used HW100 .22 from my local gun dealer. Wow what a piece of quality, as soon as I zeroed in the scope I was putting 10 pellets in a half inch spot at 25yards. With the lack of recoil a real bonus… Read Full Review

“HW 100 T .22 FAC”

Written on: 02/03/2016 by toDavis234 (1 review written)

I have this gun from 2012. Never had any issues with accuracy, barrel problems or leaks. Still original until today after thousands of perfect shoots and kills. This gun is running @ 30fpe and mainly use 21grain bisley magnun pelets. Whit 24 full power shoot and 10 extra shoots if the target it is under 60 yards. This the perfect hunting pcp in my view. Proably I am a luky guy. But it is up to each one to do the homework first and not just be influenced by some bad reviews. Hope this has helped… Read Full Review

“Absolutely outstanding”

I have both .177 and .22 and can't put them down , my R10 and S410 and taken a back seat lately. The biuld quality of the HW100 the accuracy the feel is like nothing else. I must admit the .177 is a little heavy as its a full length rifle the .22 is a sported carbine and handles beautifully, what ever you point it at it hits and hits hard, the .177 shoots best with daystate sovereign and I found the H&N hunter barracuda extreme best through the .22 both rifles are extremely quite. Once zerod I produced a 27shot grouping within a drawing pin head!!.. blueing lovely. And feels well made when holding this gun. Lighter than walnut model. The power is easily adjusted and the shop will send your gun to Hull Cartridge for adjustment with one week turn around. My came back with the chronoscope test card. The German guns [Walther, Anschutz, Weihrauch and Feinworkbau] work well with German, or Czech made pellets, because that is what their barrels were designed for, in general. That is as well the reason, why the majority of pellet brands go to JSB, to make their target pellets.
As far as your AA S510 is concerned? It is equipped with the Walther barrel, so it will be probably just as fussy as the HW100 T, or KT.
As far as handling, or value for money is concerned? You can try the gun at the shop's firing range, or negotiate the swap for another gun, if you don't get on with it. The HW100T is a heavy gun, but it is well balanced and it points very well, when shooting in standing position.
The value for money? Why do people in UK buy the more expensive Mercedes, or BMW rather than the cars made by Jaguar? You are paying for quality, longevity and "the resale value".

Rickj2011's Response to benwyvis01's Review

Written on: 27/09/2016

I shoot JSB Jumbo and H&N Target with the HW100 KT and have no problem with accuracy. But my rifle was as well sold new, set to 10 ft lbs, instead of 11.5 ft lbs. The shop sent the rifle back to Hull Cartridge and it came back a week later, set to correct pressure with the chronoscope test card. So the pressure is not a major issue. Most air rifles are designed with a preferred make of pellets in mind. Feinwerkbau, Anschutz and Weihrauch air rifles tend to like the German, or Czech made pellets, because these pellets were designed for German air rifles. That aside AA S410 and S510 probably use the German made Walter barrels anyway, so they should perform marginally better with H&N, or JSB / AA (JSB made) pellets anyway.

“Hw 100 kt .22”

Written on: 25/05/2013 by PaulHW100 (1 review written)

Firstly, what don't I like about this rifle, simple answer, nothing. Half the features of this rifle are quality engineered, well thought out ideas put into practise, which never fail to impress me every time I use it.the other half are simply astounding. I've been shooting for 31 years now, and I have never owned a gun that was produced to this high a standard, I'm sure there are other brands on the market as good , but I haven't personally owned one, and believe me I've had a lot of guns… Read Full Review

“HW100 KT FSB .22 - quality piece of kit :-)”

Written on: 21/04/2013

Just upgraded from springer and after spending weeks of reading reviews and testing PCP guns I decided to spend the extra cash and get what I feel was the best all rounder. The HW100 KT FSB is even better than I expected, just zero'd sights in today and wow I love it, I was on verge of getting the theoben MK2, but the HW100 just felt better in my opinion. So glad I got the thumbhole version too, fits like a glove... I purchased diving bottle then struggled to find anywhere to fill the… Read Full Review

I own 3 pcp rifles a Daystate Air Ranger fac, an Air Arms 510 sl karbine and of course the Weihrauch 100 sk all in .22 plus a new Cz 17 HMR. I think the WEIHRAUCH HAS EASILY THE BEST All ROUND BUILD QUALITY. Followed closely by AA All these guns are very good but the hw100 has the smoothest action and the magazine has never jammed. It is also relentlessly accurate Like the man said simply the best. … Read Full Review

“Very consistent, excellent ergonomics, and not that heavy”

Written on: 14/09/2011

Bought a HW100 SK in .177 recently (second-hand), to complete my PCP collection, along with a new Daystate Huntsman carbine, also in .177. I thought the HM was accurate, but the Weihrauch tops it for consistency over the chrono with the same 15fps spread over 70 shots as the HM has over 60. This was all with unweighed pellets (H&N FTT 4.50 8.6gn) and I think the variation is weight, rather than a power curve ... it's pretty darned flat until it drops off right at the end. It really isn't as… Read Full Review

“HW100 K are they as good as they say”

Written on: 26/07/2011 by Hw100SKrich (2 reviews written)

I have chopped in my Enigma deluxe PCP which was excellent towards a HW100SK. July 11 model. Tried the usual pellets, some not as accurate as my old gun..........very dissapointed. Went to shop (owner has one), bit of advice, Bisley Mags, heavy 4.52 size very accurate (6mm targets constant strike at 35yds), seems like the 4.5 not very good. ie Daystate Li c**p, Mosquito, not very good. Also buy a bi-pod. You will be amazed at the difference. Sad, many a good gun sold in error thinking they have… Read Full Review

Written on: 26/02/2012

I've just bought a brand new HW10KT .177 & haven't really given it a thorough test as yet, but so far it is excellent. I also have a BSA R10 .177 which is nearly 2yrs old, & is as accurate, & as consistent as anything out there. So far, when I go hunting, I reach for the R10, but maybe that's because I'm used to it. In my opinion, both cracking rifles.

I have two HW100 [T & KT] and both seem to be spot on. Both have adjustable laminate stock and both point and shoot well. Not the lightest guns on the market, but then again, it is down to your personal preference. You pays your money, so you takes your choice.
The coking / loading mechanism is honed to perfection and the magazines are probably the best designed, single piece, all metal units on the market.
Unlike the other brands loading mechanisms, the Weihrauch HW100 setup doesn't allow you to load 2 pellets on top of each other and fire.

i agree about hull cartridge writing reviews on here. I wrote a report on the hw57 and some-one commented on how it could be the user and not the gun, but after trying it with several different people and the results came out the same. Very low powered and pellets flying all over the place. It also was sent back but for me it came back firing over 12 ft/lb and up to 13.2 on my chrono and the grouping is much improved.
Well done for speaking out. I wonder how many passwords Weihrauch have. lol

Difficult to see how you could have problems with loading and cocking as the lever action is the only one I've seen that dioesn't allow double breeching of pellets - insert magazine, open/close lever, pull trigger. Tricky that.

Don't think most of the reviews are written by Weihrauch, probably just by people that can operate simple mechanisms...how are you with doors?

The HW100 KT should be good for 90 shots at 30-40 yards (in .22 configuration) and the HW100 T gives me 140 shots (in .22 , shooting JSB Jumbo Exact), before pellets start dipping down at 30 yards. That said, you can always buy the larger air cylinder, remove the silencer and use the air stripper ... to get more shots out of HW100 KT.
As far as the mechanical issues, or adjustments are concerned? The UK importers Hull Cartridge has 7-10 days turn around for warranty repairs. Otherwise, most repairs can be done by your local rifle shop or gunsmith. The leaks are usually down to worn, or poorly seated O-Rings, which is something that could be fixed by yourself. The complete set of Nitrile O-Rings costs around 10.00 GBP
