I wasn't out to get it, the car sort of fell in my lap I didnt realize how rare or nice the car was I traded my Porsche 944 for it, I think I got a pretty good deal.

A great peice of german engineering! Built strong, built to last!
All mechanics are fairly easy to understand and fix since this car was made before the computer years.
Many features that were ahead of their time, are still very usefull today and do not come standard on some 2008 cars!
A great buy if you have the money for eventual repairs, once in good shape though, it'll last you forever!
I own 2 190Es 2.3-16V, one with 379 000kms, and the other with 142 000kms!

Great value, buy only the best, must have full service history, there are many abused and therefore costly examples about.
Parts are expensive, still best to use genuine Mercedes parts. Performs extremely well for a late 1980's car, many design aspects ahead o it's time

I'm the third owner of this Mercedes Benz W201 190E 2.3 16v Sports Car, I'm from Chicago; the car was previously only driven in Florida, and not very much, so this was a find. It's my first Mercedes and I'm very happy with it. As a reviewer above noted, it seems to handle especially well at high speeds and is very nimble yet you can feel the weight and solid construction. The interior is very comfortable, remniscent of a Jaguar.

Well, for starters, The Mercedes Benz W201 190E 2.3 16v is a very cool car to see. I have only driven it for 5 weeks now, and i already love it. It even makes me forget about my last Merc, a 300CE from '88.
This is a real eyecatcher, and in head-to-head race at the stoplight it devours GTI and GSI cars like its nothing.
I saw in a other review that the car was very expensive in the UK. Here in the Netherlands, you can buy 1 for only 2500 Euro (approx. 1700 Pounds).
About comfort, no complaints either. Full leather interior, heated front seats, drivers seat electronically adjustible, power steering, ride height adjustment front and back, sporting gearbox and so on.
With this car, it doesn't matter whether you're driving 80 km/h or 180 km/h, comfort and handling stays all the same (must say even better at higher speeds ;))

This is a great budget sports car, though hard to find. Top price I have seen was $20,000 for a 91 with 20000 miles on it or so... This is a great functional vehicle as well as fun to drive, looks great, and performs well (as well as sounds cool!)
