I am a Ryanair Fan just because the experience i have had with Aer Lingus is constant delays and cabin crew that should have retired years ago.

I flew a direct flight from LAX to Dublin and back. When I arrived at LAX, the terminal had experienced a major computer glitch a few hours before (not unusual), and there were people everywhere. Despite the stress and the angry travelers, the desk staff at Aer Lingus was friendly, attentive and clearly doing everything in their power to help the customers. We ended up flying out pretty much on time as a result. The flight itself seemed much shorter than it actually was, and the crew was attenti ...

I fly Air Lingus regularly, including transatlantic business (east coast USA) but only when I have no reasonable alternative, which is too often for my liking. Aircraft to the US are old, seats and attached equipment often malfunction. The seat cushioning has worn so it is often like sitting on a wooden board (tip: put folded blankets on seat). (I hear newer aircraft to US west coast are better). Food is variable - medium to downright bad. (Recently outgoing to NYC we got a dried lump of overcoo ...

We ended up getting to the airport early and asked if they had room on the earlier flight if we could change, and were told that yes they had room but it would cost us quite a bit of money to change. It didn't matter much to us so we didn't change, but since it would have cost them nothing to change us since they had room, and they may have been able to sell our seats on a later flight, it didn't make sense to me. We flew them on a British Airways ticket (connecting flight), but wouldn't hesitat ...

The seats were comfortable, with good leg room. The flight staff were relaxed and helpful. Being a nervous flyer in the past, I can honestly say I was totally chilled out . I will most certainly make this my first choice in choosing an airline .

Flying Heathrow - Belfast one of the newest Aer Lingus routes that started just this week. The fare was only £52 return so great value and much cheaper than Bmi. Flight boarded on time and the cabin crew were very friendly and welcoming. I sat in row six and noticed how clean the aircraft was, it was also very comfortable with leather seat. Departed on time and the cabin went through the cabin with food and drink to buy, the selection was very good and prices were reasonable. Landed on tim ...

Aer Lingus is a low cost carrier so if you are more worried about the price then the comfort then choose this airline.

I always used to prefer Aer Lingus in the past due its Heathrow hub but I will definitely will think of travelling with Ryanair in the future due to the poor customer service and delays I have suffered over the past few years. Aer Lingus used to be a very caring service.

Overall we did not have a good flight with Aer Lingus. We booked to go from Heathrow to Washington via Dublin as this was the deal we got with Lastminute.com. Never again. Started with a ridiculous scenario at Heathrow where we were informed that after flying from Heathrow to Dublin, we could not get, at Heathrow, our boarding passes for our Washington flight. We then had the absolutely ridiculous situation of having to come out through baggage claim and customs to then queue up again to get boa ...

Fly with someone else, I have taken only 2 flights with Aer Lingus both of these where 2 hours late, 100% dissatisfaction. In future I will go Ryanair, they are cheaper and usually on time in my experience.

The ticketing agents at Shannon need to be retrained. I had a reservation for a 7am flight from Shannon to Dublin, which I needed to pay for before checking in. I got on the reservation line at 5:45. A blue-jacketed man, I believe air crew, cut the line about 5 minutes later, right in front of my wife and myself, without any reason nor any remorse/guilt. We were the only people on line, we could have been there for an hour but he decided to walk right up to the desk, although it was not even ...

As shown before my major disappointment with Aer Lingus is their stubborn refusal to increase the number of destinations from Shannon. It is a long time belief here that when the open skies policy comes in that the airline will not hesitate to pull out of Shannon. I am all for supporting my own but that has to go both ways. Aer Lingus has to support the whole of the country and not just Dublin and Cork. Dublin especially. Until this happens I have no hesitation in using alternative airlines th ...

Aer Lingus management still won't service Canada, so we are forced to travel from Toronto via the UK or Amsterdam. For many Canadians, the Aer Lingus service via the USA is not an option due to US Immigration. Canadian visitors to Ireland are never documented as such when they fly via the UK. Therefore the real number is much higher than reported. Travellers from Canada to Ireland are generally not through ticketed and as such are not counted. In fact Canadian visitors actually help to fal ...

I flew from Dublin to New York, JFK on the morning of 16th March 2007. I'm a very nervous flyer so flying with Aer Lingus was great. I cried before I got on the plane and the lady at the desk, just before I got on the plane, was very nice and asked if I wanted to wait until the rest of the people got on the plane. Took off on time, the food came along about 30 minutes or so into the plane journey, it was lovely, just what I needed. I was given two free drinks because one of the Air Hostesses kne ...
