    Good Points: Nothing

Bad Points: EXTRA small chair is designed for petit. Tall people would just be very very uncomfortable their knees would be squashed in. The air craft was very old.

General comments: It was the worst airlines I have ever tried and I have been on all kinds of flights long distance and short. I been on almost all Europe airlines because I travel from Canada so I have to take these, but through all my trips never been on worst then Cathay Pacific and I do hope no one else goes through that terrible experience as I have.

Generally good service; hot food and wine served in economy (even from Vancouver to New York). Individual entertainment screens help pass the time. Decent vegetarian food. Have traveled to Hong Kong and New York from Vancouver. This is the best airline to take if flying economy on either of these routes. Service is pleasant and the flights are generally on time.

Cathay Pacific has a reputation as a high quality airline but this was not my experience. The film/TV package is antiquated as films could not be stopped and restarted and the selection is severely limited and outdated.

The plus point is their fare typically ends out to be $200 lower than Singapore per ticket, which is why I still fly this airline.

This was the worst international flight that I have ever taken. The entire economy section was absolutely PACKED with people. I am 6 feet tall and had the most uncomfortable flying experience of my life. The seats are narrow and designed poorly. I travelled with a group, and we periodically switched seats to see help each other out. It made no difference- each seat was equally small and uncomfortable. Service was good and the flight attendents were kind.

First class is great. Wines, food and service impeccable. Exclusive service. You feel that you are the center of all the crew's attention. I feel sorry for all the people who are stuck in economy and the horrible new business class (seats are disgustingly cramped and claustrophobic). I simply do not understand how a quality carrier like CP can manage such a mess up! I guess the old device still holds true: You get what you pay for!!! My rating above concerns only the first class product.

I had YVR-HKG / HKG-HAN / SGN-HKG / HKG-YVR flights booked five months in advance. At the last moment, two days before leaving (Monday night) my mother suffered from a bad fall and broke both of her wrists/arms. I was in Emergency Room most of the day Saturday. I went to the Vancouver airport that night to try to get the ticketing counter to either cancel the flight, or at least remove HKG-HAN/SGN-HKG and change YVR-HKG to a later date" expecting it to be faster/easier than on the phone (as CX d ...

Worse business class seats I have ever experienced. The seats on my Airbus A330 were narrow, old, and definitely do no incline as much as their competitor's seats (that I should have used!). I found the website misleading as most of the planes on the Hong Kong-Australia route have not been upgraded. In my experience Cathay Pacific charges a premium rate for non-premium seats.

This is written with anger and frustrations due to my intolerable travel experience with Cathy Pacific. On January 15th, 2007, I travelled from Hong Kong to Bangkok, Thailand. As it was always promoted, Cathay Pacific has claimed to be a worldwide company, yet I realized that they do not trust their customers. With this experience, the wonderful image that Cathay has framed for many years in my mind has totally been destroyed and I have lost all of my confidence with them. As a global corporati ...

The worst airline in the world! I booked a business class seat but I was forced to take an economy class one, even if I objected. They tried to push me in an aggressive way to sign an acceptance letter, which I refused. I had no choice, rather than to spend an awful 12 hours in Cathay economy class, where I felt like a refugee cooped up in a narrow seat. Inconsistent treatment apparent between passengers.

I'm amazed Cathay Pacific has won airline of the year. We have flown to Asia 3 times this year with Malaysian Airways, Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific. Cathay Pacific was our last flight and had heard good reports but were deeply disappointed. Malaysian airways are brilliant with Singapore Airlines being a close second.

09-01-2006. San Francisco (SFO) to Hong Kong. Flight took off at 1am, and I did not notice any major or minor problems. Slept through most of the way. Did not feel uncomfortable. 09-22-2006. Return trip from Hong Kong to San Francisco (SFO) - Check-in at Hong Kong Airport. Great check-in service. The 5 of us arrived at the airport around 2.5 hours early. Check in was fast and staff were courteous. We went through the customs and immigration service, no problem. We had to take ...

I was bumped from my Cathay Pacific flight, but it was partially my own fault, so I didn't factor that into this review. However, given the higher pricing on most of their flights, I would highly recommend other carriers with better service before I would choose Cathay Pacific, unless it was for travel directly to Hong Kong. The cabin service, I felt was the worst part of the experience for such a long flight. Other carriers might have someone come by every 15 minutes, while on Cathay Pacific ...

We flew Cathay Pacific from London to Sydney with a 9 hour change over in Hong Kong. From the moment we arrived at the London check in we where made to feel special. We were travelling with our two children aged 2 & 5 at the time and there was nothing they could not do for us! From letting us pick our own seats to the lady behind the counter giving the children lolly pops. Once on the plane we found it very clean comfortable and with the flight not being totally full the five seats we had for ...

We were forced to pay Cathay Pacific around 115$ money for extra wieght on carry on baggaes. We were not told this at the time of check in and were told when we had no choice other than paying the fine or miss the flight. We could have dumped some stuff but they didnt let us do that also. There was no weighing machine and it was all verbal that carry ons are over weight. We send our customer feedback at cathay pacific site mutiple times and nobody cares to respond. I will never recommend any o ...

I flew from New Delhi to Hong Kong, and then to Vancouver BC. The shortest and most convenient route to fly from India to BC at resonable rates.

I flew with Cathay Pacific, the flight from Ho Chi Minh to Hong Kong was delayed due to technical problems. We arrived 15 minutes before scheduled ongoing flight was planned for take off. Instead of waiting for the delayed pax we were booked to a Korean Air flight 8 hours 20 minutes later (at 40 minutes after midnight). When I asked for a complementary upgrade into business class as would have to work early morning and so to have a bit more rest during the flight, ground staff refused. After r ...
