I had the pleasure of staying at the El Vita studios from 1st July for 2 weeks with my husband and 16 year old daughter. Our first room was underneath the reception and yes they are in need of refurbishment but they were cleaned every day and fresh linen and towels were supplied at least four times a week. In our room on arrival was a complimentary plate of fresh fruit and a half bottle of wine from the management which was a very nice thought. Due to the room not being suitable with a 16 year old (no privacy for her to change or sleep) we were allocated another room which was much better due to their being a separate area for her to sleep in. All the members of staff were pleasant and helpful. All public areas were clean, tables in the bar area were cleared and new linen used after each meal or drink was taken. The pool area had ample sunbeds and with the beach only a few yards away there was never a worry of not being able to lie in the sun! I would not hesitate to recommend the El Vita studios to others. The studios are a 30 minute walk into Lardos which is a typical Greek village with a number of very good restaurants and bars. A taxi will cost approximately 5 euros. Pefkos is a busier resort with lots of restaurants and bars. We particularly like the Kymi restaurant above the Lee Beach bar, good food not overly priced and the most amazing view of the sunset and they will always make you feel welcome. Another lovely restaurant is the Kavos which can be found at the top of the hill past the Nicholas Tavern, here again the view is amazing and good food too.

Over all was a lovely place to stay, not very child friendly if you got children in buggies no lifts just stairs. Wasn't happy with air con extra. Lardos itself hasn't much there, a few places to eat but taxis are cheap and worth travelling into Lardos village and Pefkos & Lindos. Rhodes town a must to see. George car rental good value for money if you want hire a car, they do deals.

This was our first time to Rhodes and we had a fantastic time!
We can recommend eating out in Lardos, which was a 30-40 minute walk, especially Roulas and Valentinas.
Pefkos was about a similar distance the other direction and had loads of shops, bars and restaurants and a lovely sandy beach.
Lindos was approx 9 Euros in a taxi, excellent for eating out and nightlife, we particularly enjoyed the Courtyard bar and Qupi nightclub!
We would return to the El Vita without a doubt! ...

The El Vita apartments in Rhodes are basic, but the whole complex should be rated at more than 2*. We are going back again next year (2007), and personally I can't wait! Everything is on hand, and it is a very relaxing holiday. If you want to explore, you can (go into the mountains on a motorbike - it's beautiful, and visit Lindos). If you want a pool based holiday, you can do that as well.

Overall, Lardos in Rhodes is a good holiday location if you like the quiet life. There are plenty of good restaurants, a few bars, some supermarkets and a pretty village.

The El Vita Apartments are situated right on the beach. the room are clean and the people were friendly. The pool was also fantastic!
