I got this gun for my dad for father's day. When we tried shooting it the scope was so far off the gun could not hit a 2by2 foot target from 10 feet. After some considerable effort I got the scope sighted in but the grouping was never very tight. Nevertheless the gun is great at relatively close range and very deadly. Crows, rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks and young groundhogs can be easily killed by one or two well placed shots. All in all the Crosman Quest is a decent gun but I would spend... (read more)

Adjust the parallax on the scope for your range and it should solve your problem. I'd also shim the scope so it matches the barrel rather than using the scopes adjustments to do it.

This is a great airgun that packs the speed of a firearm, the gun is loud at times but can be used in a suburban neighborhood, its lightweight, and can stop anything up to a doe (although is recommended for small game) dont keep it loaded though, because it will wear out your spring. 5 stars for accuracy and value, 4 for handling because the butt is a little rigid. I bought a crosman quest 1000 with scope from Gander Mt on sale for $99 less the $10 coupon I received for a charity run, net $90 cost plus tax. What a pleasant surprise! The model I bought advertised a new trigger, cast metal. Not sure what the old trigger was.

The scope that came with the rifle is a center point AR22 4x32 mil dot. I find it to be a good match for this rifle and easily sighted the rifle with 20-25 shots. My kids rifle, Ruger explorer, has an AR22 4x32 duplex,... (read more)

I bought this gun for shooting squirrels and birds. I killed 5 birds and one squirrel without the scope and have killed a bird at 100 ft with my two day old winchester 4x32 scope. This gun is quite heavy and I often have to take a break from holding it after 15 shots. This is an amazing gun WITH A SCOPE it is accurate without the scope, but you have to sight in the rear sights which can be a time consuming task. Get a 4x32 scope with this gun and sight it in and blow whatever you want to away! (read more)

Just got the Quest 1000x yesterday and i have to say that i am very satisfied. I dont have a clue why people are saying that these guns have accuracy problems. Within 30 shots i had this thing dialed into a 1 inch pattern at around 70 feet. Maybe these people should not be shooting a gun in the first place. My only problem withe gun is the cheep plastic sights, But then again with the scope who needs them anyway. (read more)

A 1 inch group at 70 feet? Maybe I shouldn't have bought one of these, because I had much higher expectations of this gun. The clue you are probably missing about the folks talking about accuracy problems is that they may also have higher expectations than 70 feet. Maybe those of us with these higher expectations shouldn't be shooting the gun as you said. We will leave it to someone who brags about a 1 inch group at 70 feet

I bought the Crosman Quest 1000 four months ago. It is great for anything from mice to foxes. Very accurate with the scope if you site it right. Without the scope it is still pretty accurate. The only drawback is that it is somewhat heavy. Which is good though so you know it is durable. I absolutely love this air rifle and would recommend it to anyone above the age of 12. Great for backyard use and for in the woods. Absolutely amazing. (read more)

The Crosman Quest 1000 is an excellent buy for its price. When I first purchased the air gun, got it home to shoot, there was an exceptionally loud explosion like that of a .22 shooting, but has since died down. One of the other reviewers suggested cleaning the rifle with a better lubricant to get rid of the explosion generated by the gases. Seems sound and wouldn ' t hurt to try. I was very impressed with the air guns accuracy with 'iron sights' and was able to do 1/2" groupings at 10... (read more)

Three degrees is a lot! They're usually not pointing straight, but usually they're pointing down about 1 degree. I've never seen a side that was noticeable. Crosman will fix that, or you could shim your scope to match. Most people need to shim under the rear to tilt the scope down, so I guess you'll need to shim from the sides. You'll probably need to adjust your parallax too, so plan on that before you sight it in.

I bought the Crosman Quest 1000 rifle because I needed something for pest control since the rabbits and groundhogs, squirles and chipmunks. So far have had no complaints. As said in some other reviews you need to find the right ammunition first. I have had the most success with crossman premier round nosed 7.8 grain rounds. I am able to hit bottle caps at 50 plus yards and have taken a rabbit at nearly 100. I do recommend a more powerful scope for shooting at those distances though and... (read more)

For all those who are planing to buy the Crosman Quest 1000 or any other Crosman made in China, do not forget to clean and remove the original lubrication on the rifle and replace it with a silicon based lube. This way you will eliminate the explosion heard on the firsts shots that resemble a .22 rim fire gun shot and save the cilinder seal.
This explosion is caused by a "Diesel effect" inside the cilinder when the air is compressed mixed with the original lubrication grease/oil (with a... (read more)

I'm surprised by the negative reviews that the Crosman Quest 1000 gun has recieved. I bought this gun because I had a pest problem, but quickly realized that it might be a bit too powerful. The wadcutter ammo I bought would completly penetrate the 7/8ths thick peice of pine I used as a backstop at about 20 feet (it even penetrated a penny at about 10 feet), so you want to be aware of your back ground when shooting.

Sorry, but that does happen... The only way to lessen the odds of that are to guy a real German gun, and I mean real, not RWS. Or just buy a quality US or Swiss spring for your gun for ~$15; Vortek, Maccari, Titan. The crosman springs have a decent track record so you might just buy another and maybe a spare just in case, they're ~$5ea.

The Crosman Quest 1000 is good value. I own a Gammo Big Cat that is a great air rifle. I wanted to pick up a cheap breakbarrel for my 12 year old to shoot with me so I picked up a Crossman Quest 1000. Bought this Crosman Quest for shooting squirrels and for messing around. The stock scope does not work at all for accuracy, but after I bought a new one I literally can shoot a peanut from 50 yards. I have dropped many squirrels from long range, some while they were jumping through the trees. People that are leaving bad reviews about this pellet gun's accuracy should know that the gun is accurate, they just need a new scope. That or they don't know how to shoot a gun. (read more)

Almost every review that I have read says that the scope that comes with the gun is not very accurate and is worthless. I am just wondering if you know a scope that would be good for this gun.

I'm no expert shot, but I can put three rounds into a circle about the size of a 50 cent piece with my Remington Model 70 at 100 yards. However, I'm lucky to get three rounds into a paper plate at 15 yards with this thing. Trying to sight the thing in is a joke, its all over the target, even at close range! I had planned to use it as a challenging way to go squirrel hunting, but I'd be wasting my time.

This air rifle was a total waste of money. I bought this Crosman Quest 1000 air rifle for rodent control. The problem is that you have to get close enough to grab the squirrel to get consistent groups. Beyond 15 feet you are better off using it as a club. I purchased this rifle after returning a cheaper 664. This is an outstanding value in an air rifle. Real hardwood stock and 1000 fps velocity make this a great gun. The included scope is acceptable unless you are a pro. It takes a substantial force to cock it using the break barrel design. The sights were dead on out of the box and it took about an hour to get the scope on and sighted in. It was very loud (I suspect it was supersonic) for the first few shots. I bought this gun 3 weeks ago and i love it the scope sucked so i put on a crossman 4x15 and tuned it in now i can hit quarters at 50yards out. its great for birds i went to a friends and in 2hrs i had 42 black birds with only 56 shots all hits . Overall good for the price and good for beginners. This gun is powerful but not 1000fps actualy only 865fps but still plenty to behead a dove with a hallow point. (read more)

Whether in the yard or at the range it has stayed true since I first set the sites. (read more)
