Bad Points: Don't think of using with a budget amp, as a poor source will equal boomy loose bass and treble brightness, although easy to drive they work best with a decent current delivery to gain total control and around 30hz of deep tight bass can be heard. Darker finishes look cheap, lighter finishes look better especially if you can find the gloss laquer versions ltd editions

General comments: I haven't heard better than Wharfedale Evo 30. I paid £325 new, even at more expensive options and I played a lot. Castle Howards S3, Zingalli Overtures, Monitor Audio RS8. The A90 needs a power amp to sound at its best too, as the treble is stunning but the bass is a little uncontrolled & loose but when hooked up with a P90 or FMJ it changes totally (I preferred the FMJ) bass is tighter & more solid. If you can find the premium finish honey maple gloss lacquer they look like a pair of £1500 speakers, the dark finishes look cheaper.

Sonically I doubt you'll find better at the price rrp £650 but available for a lot less, the version 2 wasn't as good and failed after 3 star reviews, but the version 1 has 5 star ratings across many media pundit reviews, material value is high, a lot of speaker for the money. Deep tight diving bass, excellent midrange, very slight treble brightness but minor quibble at this money generally well balanced (not noticed if careful with source and cables), love to be played loud (if driven with high quality amp, I use Arcam A90 bi-amped with FMJ p25 power & 192 cd player with Chord Odyssey 4 & chameleon silver interconnects). I can't fault them extremely happy to use for long time to come.

Very Competent.A sonic dream at their price point. Very musical but just as competent when it comes to home theater. Pleasing to the eye. Well constructed cabinet w/ real wood veneer.
