“Scooter Upgrade”

★★★★★

written by on 08/05/2013

In 2003 I purchased a new 2003 Yamaha Zuma and put 9,000 trouble free miles in it. In 2012 I purchased a new 2009 Kawasaki Eliminator 125 for $1,995 an incredible value. I put 1,300 miles on it during the first year and really enjoy it and a much more comfortable ride then the Zuma. 60 mph and 70 mpg. The 3.4 gal fuel tank allows for fewer fill ups and gives the bike a grown up look. The manual chock allows for easy starts on cold mornings. I recommend the bike to all riders.

“Nice little bike”

★★★★★

written by on 19/03/2012

I bought a used 2004 with 1500 miles on it. Have driven almost everyday for the past 6 months and now have 3300mi. Clutch cable broke, but easy to replace. Gotta watch the crankcase oil. Fun bike. I'm 155 pounds and max speed is 64mph on the flat. Mileage is 65-80 mpg, but usually 70 (with 10% ethanol, 75mpg with pure gas). I love the mileage, enjoy the bike, and really don't want anything bigger.

Bought an 06 Eliminator ( Candy thunder blue ) as a 1st geared bike to get me to work and back each day. Reliable , good on fuel , tax and insurance and what a head turner, i'm moving to a bigger bike in 3 months time and i'll be sorry to see her go, love it to bits - and what a growl on the engine for a single cylinder :D

“GET ONE! I have only owned this bike for one day and...”

★★★★★

written by on 07/10/2009

GET ONE! I have only owned this bike for one day and it is my 1st geared bike, so my thoughts may not be all that relevant to those of you thinking of buying one. All I can say is that the bike was delivered to me at midday and I've just got in (9pm), after riding it here, there and everywhere.
Most of the reviews on here were spot on and I'm glad I read them before deciding on a BN125. I got my 2007 A6F model for what seems a poultry £870.00. It cost £150 to insure fully comp, so I was on the road for just over a grand.
Gear changes are smooth, the clutch is very forgiving and the bike corners beautifully. I've just done almost 9 hours (only stopping for petrol and a bag of chips) without any aches or pains, so it is comfy. Hugs the road like a dream and does a comfy 60-65mph and approx 60-80mpg depending on how it's ridden. It's a real looker too (mine's blue).
If it breaks down tomorrow it'll still be the best 870 kwid I've ever spent.
Only tiny problem I've encountered is that it is too big to get through my back gate, so tomorrow I'm getting a bigger back gate and making a bigger hole in the wall! NUFF SAID, but I'll keep you updated.

A wicked bike. Fantastic easy to use bike. My first bike after mt CBT and I use it to commute to work. I did have a problem with it starting but found that you can get cheap parts on ebay and the main parts brand new are not too bad either. Mine is the 1998 version and now that it is working (contacts needed changing - cost £30 brand new) it is something of a special bike. It looks bigger than it is and sounds it also. I just wish it was a 250cc or higher, for quicker overtaking.

The Kawasaki 123 Eliminator ideal first bike after passing CBT, plenty enough power. Very smooth clutch and excellent to ride. I love this bike and would recommend. My husband even prefers my bike to his Ducati 600 SS!
Looks great.

What can I say about this little Kawasaki 125 Eliminator, she's a beauty. Looks great. Ideal learner bike. So easy to handle it is a pleasure to ride, I find myself going everywhere the long way around as I just dont want to get of once I am on. The bike handles so well, I recommend anyone to have this bike. How good does it look?! So good I keep her in the house! I just want to keep adding more bits, the more I add the bigger she looks!

“I absolutely love this Kawasaki 125 Eliminator bike, I...”

★★★★★

written by Laker on 05/01/2007

I absolutely love this Kawasaki 125 Eliminator bike, I wanted the Honda CBR125 but it was just outside of my price range and at first I just saw this as the cheap way to get me on the road but from my first ride on it I realised every ride was gonna be more like leisure than transport. I ride this bike at least once a day, it's only 10 miles to work and back on 5 days of the week but I'll end up with 20 or even 30 miles on the clock at the end of each day. Once I clocked up nearly 150 miles in one day. The fuel efficiency is great as it does around 70-80 miles to the gallon, I'm not quite sure how much a full tank costs but it takes 15 litres which I thought was more than enough. I'm not too sure because I haven't tried it yet but I think the reserve tank isn't very big. The bike has a tool kit and even though its quite a small one it still contains most of the tools you would need if ever the time arose. The bike is missing a rev counter and petrol gauge but these items would possibly make it a little over crowded. This bike isn't designed for tall people, I'm 6 foot and 2 inches and have 13 size motorcycle boots, I also have talipese which is a rare deformity that causes my foot to grow unlike how they should be. I've had an operation to help cure this but it has left me with little flexibility in my ankle meaning I can't lift the front of my foot up very high or for long periods of time, at first I had quite a bit of trouble with the foot controls but after siting down and fidling with the brake lever for quite some time I managed to adjust it to a more comfortable position. As performance goes the bike is lacking at first but once run in properly it will keep up on acceleration easily up till about 50mph where the rate of acceleration will decrease, I've managed to get it to about 75mph so that's proof that it can hold its own on the bypass or motorway, it can also cruise at 50-65mph for very long periods of time with no fuss. As far as the seat is concerned its very comfortable, not the best but definitely not the worst - I've rode it for hours on end and have had a little ache afterwards but this is all gone after about a 10 minute break and I'll be off again. The chrome is amazingly finished but there's a small square where the bracket is to fix it to the bike that isn't done and it makes it look quite tacky. I had a bad accident on it that left my knee ripped to shreds, and after close inspection of the bike the only damage was the indicator, front brake lever, exhaust and tank logo. The indicator and tank logo cost me £22.99 to get replaced and the brake lever isn't enough to cause a problem, the exhaust will cost £120 but the damage to it is tiny so there isn't much point - so all told the bike held up extremely well. I can't really say anything else except you won't be disappointed.
