About a month ago i purchased a 58 reg aprilia rs50, 'spains no.1' its a beautiful bike, and it runs like a dream, unfortunately, it has had to go back to the garage as the previous owner insisted on personally doing the repairs.

I would reccomend buying it brand new as you dont know the history when buying second hand, yes its a steep price, but its well worth it. If you do end up buying second hand, MAKE SURE you get the bike fully checked over by an Aprilia AUTHORISED dealer, just to make sure nothing is wrong.

Back to the bike, its a great learner bike, very fast and easy to run, its very large for a 50cc, as i found out going for a ride in the countryside alongside my neighbours yamaha r1000.

The only downsides are the 50cc scooter noise, and there is no fuel gauge.

I would very strongly reccomend this motorcycle, as it truly is, the bike of teens dreams!

i've had my RS50 over 2 months now. It's truely fantastic.
I dont even know where to start:
    It's fantastic round corners,
i've gone from surrey to rye full speed all the way down the A roads (60MPH at 12,000 revs) and its been perfect, if not a little uncomfy and a lot of vibrating.
Admittedly people on hayabusa's and ducati 1198's have nodded at me thinking I was on a big bike, it's not a reason to buy, but it makes you feel a bit more "appart of the club" where as on a scooter you're a bit o ...

If you are 16 this is the bike of your dreams, i can assure you, you will get nothing better if you are planning to move up to bigger bikes. It gives you good road experience/road sense. Good luck and have fun!

This little bike is brilliant! Its a great looker, can burn off the majority of 50cc scooters and some of the 125cc 4 stroke scooters aswell! for about a year i have been searching for clues why my RS50 goes quicker than some of my mates' . I stumbled across one thing that is very simple i felt like an absolute fool...SPROCKETS! if you get the right gearing you can either have higher top end speed or acceleration. The standard sprocket sizes are a 12 tooth on the front and a 47 on the back. mine ...

the aprilia rs 50 is a great bike for any rider. Absoloutly thrashing every moped around, mine is totally standard apart from being de-restricted and does 50-55mph. Just orderd a leo vince performance pipe and going up a tooth or two on the front sprocket. To be honest theres no point getting a "big bore kit" I personaly think that takes the reliability away from the rs.
but top marks for the bike so far.

The bike is a high revving engine and requires a lot of maintenance use fully synthetic oil about £10 a litre if not it wont last as long. To de-restrict this bike you have to remove a pipe, a 4mm pipe in the exhaust it will then do about 50-55mph but if that isn't enough then you can rejet the Carburettor then your looking at 55-60 and if you get an arrow exhaust then it will do 60+ but make sure that a qualified mechanic does this otherwise it can lead to expensive problems.

Great looks and handling. My Aprilia RS 50 has a Arrow pipe, I haven t driven one without it, but it is really fast does 55-60MPH easy.
It also looks great, and handles and feels like a bigger bike, a must.

I had one my self and I got it to run about 190kmph.
My next project is to put a turbo on one of these.
Its very stable on the roads and just great.
So if you buy one of these i can only say enjoy.

Got the Aprilia RS50 about month ago and had it de restricted and an arrow race exhaust and 1 tooth larger front sproket. It flies does about 58-60 even up a slight incline. I have to follow all my mates though as mines to fast and I just loose them, I can over take my mates Piaggio NRG in 4th gear. When I say over take I don't mean crawl past I mean fly! It's brand new and been on the road since Sunday. When its run in I hope to top out at about 65 but it won't be kept at that cos that just kna ...

I have just sold on my Aprilia rs 50. It was a great bike but with an annoying sound. Personally I think these are a great bike for 16 to 17 year olds. They are fast on a straight I got 65mph in fully deristricted form they are great!

Needs alot of maintenance, Often badly looked after as younger riders purchase this bike, The bike is often ridden at its full speed capacity and this puts a lot of strain on the engine

Very nice, comfy bike, amazing fuel economy (upwards of 60 mpg) handles like a bigger bike and goes like on too if you de-restrict it.
Best bike you can buy as a first bike, but make sure you are sensible as it doesn't go like a scooter.

I was really looking forward to love the bike to bits as it is my dream bike it's powerful for it's size and set off power was ok but i would say it as i have been riding a 125 4 stroke off road bike for a year i am not disappointed with the Aprilia RS50, it's a good bike so i would get on if you can afford to buy one

My Aprilia RS50 49 went 75+ and I had 90 out of it. They fly past all peds but they have a good race against a Derbi GPR and a Derbi Supermoto. The Supermotos fly! I also had an Aprilia SR Trore Corsa and it would do all peds and rest of the mark, it was amazing but it topped out at 60.

The Aprilia RS50 49 is a 16 year old's dream bike! It quite definitely looks the part but as for performance and sound it is still obvious that it is only a 50. The bike itself is very good, very easy to chuck around and the wheels offer enough grip to get your knee down in the dry. Something I did not expect from the RS50 is its incredibly light clutch which makes town commuting a doddle.
Something that I will share with anyone who is going to or has a new RS50 is not to bother modifying it. ...

I got my Aprilia RS50 49 for my 16th birthday. I had to spend £280 to get it road legal but now it is and I love it to bits. It flies past any moped and I have to wait for 5 minutes at the end of the dual carriageway for my mates to catch up. Mine generally tops out at 60mph but I had it at 70mph, but that was only once and very rare. All I have done is de-restricted the engine and put on a race exhaust.

The Aprilia RS50 does look good and I get a lot of thumbs up from all kinds and ages of people, but this little 50cc Aprilia RS50 motorbike has given Aprilia a bad name which I intend to spread around as I felt victimized from the day I spent too much money on this brand new motor bike.

The sixth gear slips out of gear way too often and is miserably difficult to get it in. Bringing it back to two different Aprilia dealers in the San Francisco Bay Area did nothing to correct this problem an ...

This Aprilia RS50 looks great and it goes like a pocket rocket, mine does 0 - 60mph in under 10 seconds. Mine reaches a top speed of about 65mph. Which is really fast for a 50cc. When you are changing through the 6 gears it sounds amazing, the acceleration is amazing. It feels like it is going to rip your face off, don't worry it doesn't but be warned the acceleration is quick. The changes I have made are a 70cc bore kit, a racing exhaust and new clutch rollers.
