I have been disapointed by this telescope. As the later reivews comment. I found the lenses poor although 20mm does give some OK results. The mount is not very stable. The mirror give a lot of aberation. the scope is difficult to collimate and so goes out of alighment easily. We got it as an introductory telescope, but I've found this to be a mistake as there are better options out there… Read Full Review

The experience you will recieve through this Tasco 114mm Reflector scope is not the experience that someone would recieve from a slightly dearer equal size instrument from - tal, celestron, orion. Remember, when buying a telescope - take hold of it - move it about, it should move freely but not rock about unfortunately this telescope does not move freely and has a noticable wobble - not good when your viewing saturn at 100X magnification. Unstable mount, Poor optics, poor adjusted poor… Read Full Review

This is not snobbishness on the part of those with expensive equipment, wishing to exclude those on a budget, but rather through hard won experience!
If you must spend £200+ on a starter reflector telescope, please do consider the Russian Tal 1 (4.5") around £199 (or motorised version; Tal 1M)at around £270. These… Read Full Review

As first telescopes go, you could do no better than the Tasco 114mm Reflector telescope. This telescope is lightweight and easily assembled in very little time. The eyepieces supplied are good starters to get the beginner up and running and enjoying observing in no time. There are two eyepices (20mm and 4mm), a two times barlow lens ( this doubles the power of the eyepieces) and a moon filter. This telescope is an excellent beginners telescope, it has a fine 114mm primary mirror and a precise… Read Full Review
