Use that Blower now for about 5 or 6 years, twice weekly used in autumn. Starts pretty well, runs with 1:40 Synthetic-Oil smokeless, but there is a loss off power to feel. No chance to adjust the carb. The bag is not comfortable to carry because of a very simple harness and the vac-tube is a little short (for me). Change form suck to blow needs a little tool, screwdriver or something like that.
Only part that had to be replace is the fan wheel. Low level of vibration an acceptable noise...

McCULLOCH bvm250 leaf blower. had this for over 5 years, worked well. it had 3 levels of power which helped with picking leaves on gravel because the power at the lowest level only picked the leaves not the stones and pebbles. One great advantage was that the cutter blades were metal and not plastic so any stones were smashed rather then other way round. but over the 5 years it has gradually lost power and the compression got less and less. now it will not run at full power and its... Highly unimpressed. It picked up 20% of the leaves I expected it to.
The bag filled in 5 minutes and it is heavy and unwieldy.
I took mine back for a refund within 3 hours of buying it

Bought McCulloch BVM250 2-Stroke Petrol Blower Vac on line, recoil on starter did not work after a couple of uses, on line retailer no help said it was easy to fix, had to take to local service agent who fixed it at a cost and said it was manufactured over two years before and was rusty inside. Fixed but never worked properly with recoil.
Shouldn't deal with online people for this product

I bought my (first) McCulloch BVM250 and managed to run it for almost 10 hours before the starter spring broke. I returned it to the supplier who replaced it immediately.
My second BVM250 lasted for about the same running time before the vacuum tube fell off, and would not then seal when replaced.
My supplier offered a third machine in replacement; needless to say, I declined and took a refund.
Take my advice - steer clear of this, in my opinion, poor machine !!

I like the McCulloch BVM250 Petrol Blower Vac. I bought my own after using the ones at work. I am willing to deal with the problems because they are easy to work on. Really simple engines. (read more)

I have a leaf blower. It starts but it will not continue to run. I cannot find anyone who will work on it. The general comment is "it is not worth fixing". It is only 3 years old, and it has not done hardly any work. Any suggestions ?

Your McCulloch BVM250 leaf blower may require a new gasket set. You can get these from

I have just used my vac for the first time, and it seems that I have got a drip of oil going on the bag as I am using it. Any suggestions?

My blower Vac has stopped working it seems, as the primer pump is not working. It may also be a problem with the card Can any one please advise me where I can obtain a parts manual? Please leave a comment.
