Good Points: Multimode exposure, 5 zone matrix metering, TTL flash control, choice of 3 motorwinders.
Bad Points: No mirror lock-up.
General comments: The Nikon FA is the most advanced manual focus camera that Nikon ever produced. It has programmed, aperture priority, shutter priority & manual modes. It was the first Nikon to feature multi-zone evaluative metering (in addition to being centre-weighted).
The FA is based on the FE chassis, this means that accessories designed for the FE/FM/FE2/FM2 will be suitable (the FM3a also can use these accessories).
The shutter speed range is from 1 sec to 1/4000 sec, with a flash sync of 1/250 (thanks to the titanium shutter blades).
All in all, a very capable camera. Expensive for its time (about £550), and they still fetch "good money" today.
