Good Points: Keeps you well hidden at the crucial moment!
Bad Points: None at all.
General comments: I bought this Deerhunter Realtree jacket and trouser camouflage suit at my local gunshop, it is unlined, made of cotton (not a mesh suit) What i like particularly is that it is teflon coated and is fully waterproof, no noise or annoying rustling, I opted for the Realtree Extra 12/200 pattern over Advantage Timber as I think the latter is too American for British foilage, when I first seen Advantage I thought
and couldnt imagine one place in Her Majestys Realm that looked like it.
Anyway for the ones who arent sure what 12/200 is or confuse it with Extra Brown it is the old pattern that you see Jim and Carl with the springers in AGW wearing. I like this pattern as it works with 90% of the cover on my shoots (except when it snows) but the suit is really in its element when decoying pigeons or stalking rabbits, I only use DPM (army cammo) when out lamping as there is no point in getting a £80 cammo rig ripped to shreds on barbed wire The jacket is a 3/4 length job with a high collar that zips and buttons up from top to bottom, there are 2 inside pockets, 2 big pockets at the front and another 2 above the big ones, I think they are called hand warmers, more like pellet warmers! and not forgetting the BIG poachers pocket that runs from front pocket to front pocket, this poachers pocket is on the outside of the jacket and buttons at both ends.
The trousers are your typical combat style 2 fronts, 2 backs, and 2 sides, again they are all deep and wide, trousers have waist adjusters along the belt loops and drawstrings at the bottom of the leg, I just put them out over my boots like normal jeans as I dont see the sense in trying to look like a soldier or terrorist, well not in Northern Ireland anyway!
Very well put together, tough and hard wearing, loose for staying cool in summer/ room for extra clothes in winter, waterproof, and made by a reputable company who are well known, what more do you want for 80 smackers?
Just a word of note, never wash your cammo in ordinary detergent as it has white enhancers, when whites are enhanced they help animals spot us a mile away as they are more sensitive to UV light than we are you may as well be jumping up and down singing she`ll be coming round the mountain.
Instead get pure soap powder and use it-only the tiniest amount, and only if you really feel it needs it, my cammo gets washed once a year whether it needs it or not!!!even then I run it through the shortest wash and without anything to clean it, no soap powder at all.
A mate of mine is in the army and his shooting rig resides in a sealed polythene bag in the garage, god only knows if it ever seen water!
