“Best gun I've seen!”

Written on: 25/11/2012

I love this gun! Had it for about four years and only had one problem. That was when the place where you put pellets in. ( have no idea what it's called!) was locking up on me and all it needed was oil. Love it killed fairly large game. From birds to raccoons. I now have a BSA scope (around 45 bucks) and I shoot birds from 70 yards! Great gun awesome scope. Oh! I mostly use it for rats baca use of infestation and killed around 20 with it. I'm telling ya I would reccomend this gun for... (read more)

“Junk”

Written on: 01/01/2012 by shootermark (1 review written)

Just took my Remington AM77 out of the box, read the manual and attempted to fire it. No compression. After further inspection it is obvious the manufacturer either failed to install the plunger during assembly or it fell out inside the poorly assembled rifle. How disappointing. And there is a card in the box that states not to return it to the store where purchased! That's insane. What a hassle. Merry Christmas, right? Should have stuck with an air gun branded by a company in the business... (read more)

Very accurate. Shoots a 1/2" diameter group at 45 ft. However I measured the pellet muzzle velocity with a good chronograph and it is only around 550 - 600 FPS, no where near the 725 - 755 claimed. I tried pumping it a few beyond the 10 maximum with no real difference. Nice little gun, but the velocity spec is just not realistic. (read more)

PRO: Excellent for varmints. I've made head shots on tree rats at a distance of 75 feet with the supplied scope. Kill power: I'd rather see something around 900fps but at 755fps it still has enough to penetrate into vital organs and break bones on squirrels at 40-50 feet with no problem even at 8-9 pumps. I'd like to see a ballistics chart on pellets.
CON: Loading is slow as you must position the pellet in a joint between the breech and the side plate then allow it to roll into place. The... (read more)

I just bought this Airmaster 77 pellet/bb rifle for varmint control. Killed a rabbit last night. Clean head shot. The pellet penetrated well and killed it almost instantly. It did not go through the other side. 10 pumps, about 40 ft. with iron sights. The scope just didn't seem to work well so I took it off. It sighted in well, and I put pellets in about a dime-sized group on a paper target at about 30 ft. from a rest.
The only down side is the single loading of pellets. A bit... (read more)

Don't waste money buying BB's for this gun. The way the BB's shoot is very inaccurate, they sling off so much. I use Crosman Hollowpoint Pellets and if I do say...DAMN. They do some great damage and are very accurate. I bought a large 3-9 x 32 scope and i had it zeroed and i fired on pellet, dead center target, fired BB, and it missed by about a 5 inches. Overall, an amazing product. (read more)

I purchased my Crosman AM 77 - Remington Airmaster 77 yesterday shot it for about 2 hours, over all its a good gun for the right price. Very powerful and accurate without the scope. The only 2 downside about this gun is the scope and the pumping you have to do for every shot. It recommends up to 10 pumps no more though. I only do about 5-6 pumps and still has a lot of power. I cant figure out how to adjust the scope, every time I try to shoot with it it seems to shot down and to the left of... (read more)

i did the same thing w. mine, you have to unscrew the two caps in the middle of the scope and then unsrew the screw inside which control the crosshairs, make sure the crosshairs are in the middle, then put the caps back on. to adjust the distance, the smaller you make the scope, the further it will shoot, just practice and you'll learn the distance and twist ratio with the scope.

Crosman AM 77 is a great gun! I have had mine for almost a year, with no problems. The accuracy on it is incredible, you can easily hit a quarter from 15 yards, and with a good scope wood be even better. Power is also good, it can easily shoot clear through an empty can of baked beans, with power to spare. The only downsides are the 4x32 scope it comes with is not very good, and loading pellets can be a little tricky, but other than that it is an excellent gun, and definitely worth the money. The Crosman AM 77 - Remington Airmaster 77 is accurate. Open sites are not good enough to hit dime size targets at 10 yards, at least for me. Use pellgun oil from Crossman to keep the felt oiled. Plastic stock is cheap, bit light in weight. Do not judge this gun out of the box. Shoot some 800 pellets through it, never BB's, then get a good scope. Your scope and mounts will cost almost as much as the gun. Bench rest to sight in scope. Springers jerk around too much for me. Try... (read more)

This Crosman AM 77 - Remington Airmaster 77 is the best that youre going to get for less than $100.00, point blank/period. For accuracy, I can hit the same hole at 15 yards consistantly with gamo magnums. For power I can take gray squirrels out to 40 yards consistantly with the same pellet. As far as durability I got 7 years out of my first one before the pump linkage pin broke. My only complaint is the hard trigger wich gets better with time. Overall the Crosman AM 77 is a great gun. its very accurate, hitting a 3 inch circle from over 35 yards away. Its easy to handle and maintain. It only takes 3 pumps to get at least 650 fps.

It does have a fairly hard pump, needing alot of force after the 4th pump, but you dont need any after four so i wont count that against it.

The trigger is a long pull. you need to pull it about an inch and a half to get it to fire. so not for people used to hair-triggers.

Very accurate. pump it 3 times (recommended) and it's powerful enough to take out a small animal. pellets/bb's come out at 755 fps on 3 pumps. can be pumped 5 times (not recommended you go over 5) great gun. looks good, works well. I live in AZ and we have a pigeon problem here. My question is in the year I have had this air rifle I have been pumping it 10 times. Judging by some reviews here it seems that is way too much. Recently I have been missing most of my shots at pigeons . I know my aim hasn,t suddenly got that bad , does anyone think I might have damaged the gun by pumping it too much??? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Very powerful with 6-10 pumps. Accurate right out of the box, but you'll want to trim up the adjustable rear sight for best performance. The scope is cheap like everybody says, but can also be properly trimmed with sufficient care. It never jams provided you are careful with the loading of the .177 lead pellet. Don't use BB's as they will harm the internal rifling and deteriorate the accuracy. Overall, an excellent Air Rifle and well worth the price. (read more)

A two step, short, light, trigger pull would make this rifle extremely accurate and a lot of fun to shoot. The appearance, weight and handling of the Crosman AM 77 is excellent. Really good accuracy wit the pellets as well. Its got a long rough trigger pull. Its extremely hard to hold on target with a long bumpy trigger.
