Got a pair of Vans for my daughter, she really liked them, wore them for 1st time to visit her granddad, it was raining and wet , so short distance on wet ground, house to car. When home noticed dye had run on shoes. Took them back and explained and asked for a replacement , manager said no as they had been worn outside in rain!! Manager was rude and dismissive and finally agreed to send away for test to SCHUH QA dept. Two weeks later same shoes sent back with bog standard rely letter... (read more)

“Fantastic as usual”

Right so this is my fourth pair of vans from Schuh and as always im very impressed! The burgundy colour is on trend and the shoe fits like a sock, so comfy. The delivery was fast paced, got to me within two days! In store the staff are bubbly and helpful at their best with a big smile on their face :) i would reccomend vans to anyone looking for comfort and style and for good cudtomer service! I already wrote a review but think it got lost somewhere. just wanted to say that I'm really impressed with Schuh. I bought some boots about 3 weeks ago and the staff at Schuh (Metro Centre) were lovely. Really helpful and friendly. Unfortunately my boots or rather right boot turned out to be faulty, so I returned to Schuh and tried to get a replacement pair which I was unable to do as they had sold out in my size. I purchased my first pair of vans at the weekend from Schuh in Livingston, I wanted them for a while so i decided to get them. A member of staff came up to me and asked what vans i liked, i told her the ones i liked, she then looked at me in disgrace as if i couldnt have my own style. She went off to get them and then came back with the wrong pair! she brought the right ones afterwards and i purchased them. I bought some boots from Schuh last Saturday while on a day out shopping in Manchester which cost 70.00. One week later I decided to return the boots, obviously unworn, as I saw some I preferred in another store. I returned them to the Newcastle store with my receipt only to be told that it looked as if I had worn the boots so they couldn't refund my money. I wanted a pair of Irregular Choice shoes for my Christmas and the nearest stockist is Schuh in Carlisle. My boyfriend was going to drive the 50 miles to get them so I thought I'd call ahead to make sure they were in stock before he made the journey since it was the only thing he was buying. Later that day I got a phone call from my boyfriend...turned out they weren't in stock after all...the 'manager' just said they were so not to 'disappoint me'!!! I live outside the UK, and didn't realize the sites to purchase internationally is the EU site. I eventually worked rhis out myself as an email to customer service about inrernational delivery sent me to the UK site which has NOTHING about delivery zones to Aus. lazy person just didnt bother to read my email properly. must be my bad english? as i said, i worked this out myself and so I picked some shoes to send down to Aus as a trial. I bought Vans from Schuh about six weeks ago but they started falling apart within just a couple of weeks, which I strongly believe was down to the manufacturing defect. I took them back to my local Oxford store. To start with the manager was not only arrogant and unfriendly but he refused to entertain my complaint on the basis that their was a bit of dirt on the shoes. After purchasing a pair of Superstars from Schuh, I noticed that one felt a lot less comfortable than the other. On inspection I could see that they had completely different countries of manufacture, the left one made in Indonesia and the right one in India. I called to explain the situation and was told that they didn't consider the fact that the pair was mismatched, even to the extent of country of manufacture, to constitute an imperfect product. i bought a pair of lacoste trainers from the plymouth branch for £60 thought great nice pair of trainers so i took them home and wore them out that night when i woke up in the morning the heel had totally worn down on one side on both shoes so i took them in to the shop and they said its because i wore them but surely if you pay £60 for a pair of trainers they should last you at least a couple of months i wore these for one night and there ruined will never buy a pair of shoes from this... I bought a pair of boots in April for £60. By the end of May the toes had a hole and they were leaking! I contacted online and they advised me if I took them into store they would return them for inspection free of charge. The manager advised they don't do this and after waiting 30 minutes she finally agreed to send them off. Bought a pair of Vans shoes, worn them twice and they have worn through near the toe. Posted them back at my cost (£4.50) and they have been returned in a tatty box with a curt note from 'customer services' basically saying tough. I won't be shopping there again. At the very least they could have been courteous enough to include a voucher for £5 off a purchase to cover the postage. (read more)

I had a very bad experience with these guys. I purchased my shoes, I tried them on in the shop and everything was fine, quality seemed great also. As I was purchasing i was told that they do not accept returns and all I would be issued would be a credit note, I had no issue with this as the shoes seemed fine. Service is brilliant but the quality is terrible for such expensive shoes! Bought a pair of boots which got a hole near the laces after less than a week of wear. Returning goods to Schuh is the most unpleasant experience. Altough Ugg boots have a year guarantee on them the staff was not even prepared to listern to my complaint. The conversation ended with me leaving the store without an exchange or refund and asking them to put them in the bin then because they are no use to me. (read more)

They arrived quickly - no complaints there - and seemed to be just what I was looking for: a sturdy pair I could wear pretty much everyday, come wind, rain, or shine, when walking the dog. I recently ordered a pair of Adidas SL-72 trainers from Schuh online and they were delivered without any problems and at first glance appeared OK. I ordered some trainers from Schuh. When they arrived they had already clearly been worn by someone else - they had slight marks on the (white, rubber) soles. They also didn't fit (I don't blame Schuh for that part!) I then spent an additional £4.50 to return them to Schuh. Went in to store to look for some size 12 or 13 mens Timberland boots, had the correct size in but the incorrect colour, The very helpful guy in the store ran a report as to if they had the correct ones in at another store! they had so they said they would be deliverd foc to our address in 2 working days! I was very impressed with the peterborough shop, the variety of shoes was tremendous, but feel they need a bigger shop as there isnt enough room. I had wanted some boots, for this weather and whilst I was looking a polite staff member had come up to me and was very helpful.

Ordered shoes in store and was lucky to receive help eventually from a pleasant 'Saturday' girl. The shoes in store were slightly faulty so we ordered some to be delivered.

We were repeatedly told they would take just 2-5 days to be delivered. However it is now 5 working days since my order and no sign of the boots. Argued with staff for hour, still no refund. Now having to write to head office to negotiate refund, being charged £10 for postage and they can't even confirm I will get my money back.

DO NOT SHOP AT SCHUH. Purchased Ugg boots 6 weeks ago and the zips have broken on both boots. Took them back to the shop in their box with the receipt and they would not refund or replace the clearly faulty boots. They said I could contact customer services which I have tried to do, however they are closed by 5.40 despite advertising on the answermachine being open until 8.30.
