I purchased black suede Red and Dead shoes from Schuh on Sunday 9th June. On the morning of Saturday 15th June, I returned them to Schuh store where I purchased them only to be told by an aggressive store manager that I am not allowed to because I've worned them. “Awful service”

After hard days shopping bought pair of Sketchers. Bought Saturday, late afternoon. Tried size and six seemed OK. Sunday morning went to gym and afterwards wore new shoes for the 100 yards gym to car. Really seemed to big so took them back Sunday at 12.30 only to be told they were 'too worn' to be exchanged for a smaller size! Spoke to shop manager. “Fab shoes”

Greater at the door by a lovely lady, asked if we needed help. My son wanted a white pair of converse. The lady brought the shoes, he then asked for the high tops. Then he needed a little think the lady wanted to rush off and serve another customer. “Good helpful staff”

Very polite helpful staff. Explained about the 365 days return policy. On my way out another staff member ? the manager, asked if the shoes I had purchased were ok for me ( a pair of sketchers Gowalk - I had been debating the size). “Shocking Customer Service.”

Terrible, unhelpful service received from both staff in store & online. The boots I bought are faulty & they refuse to exchnage them. The laces have fallen apart & heel breaking after just a month of wearing a couple of times. The boots are their own brand, expensive to buy but cheap for them to make & this shows in the quality. Got a pair of Vans for my daughter, she really liked them, wore them for 1st time to visit her granddad, it was raining and wet , so short distance on wet ground, house to car. When home noticed dye had run on shoes. Took them back and explained and asked for a replacement , manager said no as they had been worn outside in rain!! Hello, just had exactly same thing happen ,blue dye over everything, took them back to vans and told same, do not wear in wet, i have gone to consumer affairs, told if no instructions stating this we are in the right, wish me luck, rude sales men at vans and will never buy again, 100 dollar down the drain.

Similar thing happened to me today regarding a pair of boots I bought that got wet once! Safe to say I will never be shopping there again. Shame as I have been using them for years for shoes for various different occasions.

“Fantastic as usual”

Right so this is my fourth pair of vans from Schuh and as always im very impressed! The burgundy colour is on trend and the shoe fits like a sock, so comfy. The delivery was fast paced, got to me within two days! In store the staff are bubbly and helpful at their best with a big smile on their face :) i would reccomend vans to anyone looking for comfort and style and for good cudtomer service! I wanted a pair of Irregular Choice shoes for my Christmas and the nearest stockist is Schuh in Carlisle. My boyfriend was going to drive the 50 miles to get them so I thought I'd call ahead to make sure they were in stock before he made the journey since it was the only thing he was buying. I live outside the UK, and didn't realize the sites to purchase internationally is the EU site. “Poor quality shoes coupled with horrible after-sales...”

I bought Vans from Schuh about six weeks ago but they started falling apart within just a couple of weeks, which I strongly believe was down to the manufacturing defect. I took them back to my local Oxford store. “Slippy Shoe, Slippier Retailer!”

I bought a pair of Timberland Eurosprint CL shoes from a Schuh Store - 130 euros, not cheap, but they were very comfortable, which was what I needed after the last pair (also from Schuh) led to plantar fasciitis due to poor insole design.

Only problem was that when it rained a few weeks later I found that these shoes have very poor grip on damp surfaces and I've been a hair's breath from slipping and falling on numerous occasions now.

I too am having similar problems with a pair of VANS i purchased a few weeks ago. one of the shoes began to fall apart after only wearing them twice. The second time i wore them,it was a short walk on the beach, consequently, a small amount of sand got in the defect. To Schuh, sand = water. Problem-my fault. The shoes are in perfect condition (fault aside) but they claim I have immersed them in water. I have sent them also to their lab for inspection, and they also state this is what i have done. In my letter to them i asked why the other shoe did not also fail. I still have not had an answer. I will also pursue this matter through the small claims court as a matter of principle, but concur, Schuh seem to have evading their obligation down to a fine art. What chance have we the consumer got!! I have used this retailer for years, but NEVER again.

After purchasing a pair of Superstars from Schuh, I noticed that one felt a lot less comfortable than the other. On inspection I could see that they had completely different countries of manufacture, the left one made in Indonesia and the right one in India. I called to explain the situation and was told that they didn't consider the fact that the pair was mismatched, even to the extent of country of manufacture, to constitute an imperfect product. I contacted online and they advised me if I took them into store they would return them for inspection free of charge. Bought a pair of Vans shoes, worn them twice and they have worn through near the toe. Posted them back at my cost (£4.50) and they have been returned in a tatty box with a curt note from 'customer services' basically saying tough. I won't be shopping there again. I know if something went wrong with a company I'd be the first to complain, but I've used these people for years and they've always been good. If I've wanted to make a return, there's been absolutely no problem and the staff are always really helpful. I can't fault it! If a company rectifies problems with the customer, I would still give them a good review because that is good customer service. You cannot expect a faultless operation, at best, you can expect them to rectify mistakes quickly. These people do.

I had a very bad experience with these guys. I purchased my shoes, I tried them on in the shop and everything was fine, quality seemed great also. As I was purchasing i was told that they do not accept returns and all I would be issued would be a credit note, I had no issue with this as the shoes seemed fine. Heya, I'm a fellow Schuh customer and although I'd be angry too if my shoes broke, I don't think this is really the shop's fault. You were told you could only get a credit note and you got a credit note, you're lucky you got that as most places won't take returns if they've been worn. It's more likely a fault with the manufacturer of the shoe.

“Customer Service at Schuh”

Returning goods to Schuh is the most unpleasant experience. Altough Ugg boots have a year guarantee on them the staff was not even prepared to listern to my complaint. The conversation ended with me leaving the store without an exchange or refund and asking them to put them in the bin then because they are no use to me. (read more)

“Purchasing from Schuh's online store - a warning”

Bought a pair of Caterpiller boots online costing £80. They arrived quickly - no complaints there - and seemed to be just what I was looking for: a sturdy pair I could wear pretty much everyday, come wind, rain, or shine, when walking the dog. If they were the suede-type Caterpillar boots, then I would have to agree with Schuh - you should never wear suede, or suede-effect shoes in the rain, as it damages the fabric. If you wanted all-weather footwear, either go for wellies or a good regular leather boot?

I recently ordered a pair of Adidas SL-72 trainers from Schuh online and they were delivered without any problems and at first glance appeared OK. On closer inspection however it became obvious that the trainers were in my opinion seconds due to a number of issues including the trainers soles were a discoloured yellow colour, the laces were stained and discoloured and the merchandising stickers were peeling off. I bought a pair of Adidas Excstasy sleet Trainers for my daughter. Aftet about 6 weeks they began to hurt her. When I checked the lining had come away inside. I had to send them to quality control in Scotland who have now replied that there is no defect with the shoe (there clearly is) and the likely the damage is due to \"abrasion through a fitting problem\" Isn't it fortunate for Schuh that they don't fit shoes!!

I'm sorry you had a bad experience but just as a consumer, I know they do tell you about their returns procedure when you order online so you would have known you need to either return them instore or post them back. I'm surprised you didn't post them with the shop being so far away, did they not allow you to? I'm a really fussy customer but I'm not sure what you expected from them- if the shoes are faulty they need to be returned so they can be checked and replaced or refunded. There is nothing else they can do. It's bad the shoes were in a state when you got them, they should have had tighter quality control and it's definitely hassle for you to have to sort it out, but they do have the option to return them and I know providing the shoes have not been used they will do this quibble-free.

I ordered some trainers from Schuh. When they arrived they had already clearly been worn by someone else - they had slight marks on the (white, rubber) soles. They also didn't fit (I don't blame Schuh for that part!) I then spent an additional £4.50 to return them to Schuh. Absolutely disgusting service, rude, refuse to return newly bought item.

Argued with staff for hour, still no refund. Now having to write to head office to negotiate refund, being charged £10 for postage and they can't even confirm I will get my money back.

DO NOT SHOP AT SCHUH. Purchased Ugg boots 6 weeks ago and the zips have broken on both boots. Took them back to the shop in their box with the receipt and they would not refund or replace the clearly faulty boots. They said I could contact customer services which I have tried to do, however they are closed by 5.40 despite advertising on the answermachine being open until 8.30. VERY UNHAPPY and will be making a formal complaint to the company. (read more)

I purchased a pair of DMs online as none of my local stores had my size. When I recieved them, the wrong size was in the box. I bought a pair of UGGS from Schuh, Peterborough less than 2 weeks ago, I took them back to the store as having worn them briefly I am unhappy with the finish of one of the boots - which i believe to be a manufactures fault, and is causing issues when i wear them.
