Good Points: The reviewers that complained must have gotten a defective gun. Once you adjust the 4x scope, my gun is pretty accurate ) 1/2 inch groupings at 45-50 feet. My model shoots both BBs (from a chamber) or .177 pellets loaded one at a time.
Bad Points: Compared to a single pump .177 gun (like a Gamo), you can get tired of the repeated pumping. On the other hand, again comparing to a Gamo, there is a lot less recoil and / or bang.
General comments: For the price, I find it excellent. For teenage kids it is very convenient since it is light. Fairly accurate. Came with a 4x scope.

For the monay it's really not that bad. It does have a rifled barrel which probably helps it out quite a bit.

Great rifle overall. Excellent plinking rifle, can shoot BB's if you don't point the barrel down because they will roll out. Not very well fps but it's a fun rifle.

Very nice beginner/youth rifle. This gun was handed down to me by my father, so maybe it was better when it was new. So if you want an inexpensive, but fairly cheap quality this is for you.

In fairness to my statements, I must say I have never shot .177 pellets from this gun. That said, because of the history associated with this gun, I would not throw it away, but that is the only reason that I still have it. It is actually a danger to someone standing beside the shooter

I purchased this gun and sent it straight back! I have never had a Daisy gun before and frankly expected an American gun to be finished off a little better than this.
The gun itself seems to have plenty power but looks like something you would pick up for a kid in a local toy shop. Even the trigger and guard was made of plastic and just did not feel like an air weapon.
A wooden stock ( or even heaver plastic) and metal trigger would make all the difference.

The Daisy Powerline 856 is an awesome air gun. Very good for the money fairly powerful I've shoot the break barrel design 1000fps and it is definitely a rival when comparing cost to use. why would you need a 2-300 gun for plinking cans unless you do it professionally

The Daisy 856 Model was one of my first airguns I got it at blackwatercutlery.com as a remanufactured. A first look I thought "Hey that Ain't to bad" Which is wasn't. Came with 4x scope and is nicly reliable. Cheap too. (In trade for "Not the best of plastic")

I got this airgun for $20 at big 5 sporting goods. It was my first airgun and it was really impressive. I have killed many birds with it and half of the time it blasts right through the fence. Very accurate. easy to pump. I put a Daisy 4x15 scope on it that cost me not even seven dollars and it shot right where the crosshairs layed. Quiet
Comments are appreciated

Very accurate with some pellets, like Gamo Magnums for sure. The Daisy Powerline 856 is an inexpensive rifle. Loads multiple pellets per shoot. Holds pressure for days.
Bright front site. I have just one life-time shot at a crow; it's dead.
Very light weight. Low recoil.Very good value.
Durable

I had this Daisy Powerline 856 gun for 2 years and killed aroud 25-30 squirrels and count less birds. My friends brought over his RWS 22cal that shoots around 850fps with $200 scope on it. He was furious when I walked out of the woods with 2 squirrels and he none. I bought this gun with the scope combo for like $45 at Wallyworld. The scope was some cheap thing that was like $8 sold saperately. I never cleaned or took care of the gun. Ive left out in the rain over night and the freakin scope was ...

I got my Power Line 856 about 2 years ago and I really like it. It is a great gun for target practicing and hunting and it is very accurate up to 30 yards. I dropped my first 2 birds with 1 shoot each. It is a great gun all around except that it shoots only pellets and not bbs.

I love the Daisy Powerline 856. I got it when I was 8 and when my dad sighted it in it was so good. I killed my first squirrel with it. It is at home in the hands of a hunter.

I have fired about 15,000 shots through this gun and it jammed and after my dad fixed it the barrel shakes when you shoot.

The Daisy Powerline 856 loads in multiple pellets and use extra pumps for a shotgun effect.

The Powerline 856 packs one hell of a punch with a lot of pumps. It is lightweight and affordable. It comes with a 4x15 scope. The worst thing is that it's plastic. It's a good beginner gun.

The Daisy Powerline 856 is alright for most beginner shooters. It is fairy accurate at about 20 yards, and has plenty of knockdown power for small game like squirrels and crows. Although it doesn't even compare to my brothers Gamo Cadet Delta, I have grown to like the gun. I plan on buying another gun soon though.
