THE HOTEL CANIFOR. THE INDOOR SWIMMING POOL NOT MUCH BETTER THAN A LARGE BATH ? . AS FOR THE OUT DOOR SWIMMING POOL & SUN BED AREA. ONLY GETS THE SUN IN THE MORNINGS ? . THE 2 LIFTS ARE A JOKE ONLY FOUR PEOPLE AT A TIME IF YOU ARE LUCKY. THE BALONY HAS NO PRIVACY AT ALL. THE FRONT OF THE TV WAS BROKEN. THE RESTAURANT WAS SMALL TO GET TO THE FOOD AREA TO YOUR TABLE YOU HAD TO JIGGLE AROUND. THE STAFF IN THE RESTAURANT WERE VERY HELP FULL. & EFFICIENT. THE FOOD WAS QUITE GOOD. THE ROOM WAS CLEAN & TIDY, THE MAIDS CAME IN EVERYDAY. THEY WERE VERY GOOD.. NO I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO GO THERE. WE STAYED THERE IN OCTOBER 2009.

Booked into the court appartments but they were full so was put into the Canifor Hotel holiday complex which is next to the pool and so glad they did as when we were having breakfast in the cafe on the corner of the street we saw the court building and it looked grotty and dirty and there was no lift in it so if you was on the 5th floor it was stairs all the way..The room we had was on the 5th floor overlooking tourist st it was pretty basic with your 1 bedroom with 2 single beds bathroom with b ...

Background. A friend offered his timeshare for £85 for the week - get budget flights, nice cheap holiday - WRONG! Have to fly Friday to Friday - EasyJet £50 out, £155 back (x 2) / RyanAir £200 return, but from Luton. Car Park costs arm and a leg, National Express cheaper but get back 2300, bus not leaving till 0830. Wife decides she doesn't want to drive to Luton (we live next to East Midlands Airport) and she's set her heart on Malta, so we can't just not bother. C ...

Rooms clean with a good service. Good access to local buses. Shop in easy reach. Four days to repair toilet, three requests to repair tv, restaurant too small led to always queuing waiting for a table for any of the meals, selection of food repetitive, staff not very polite, inside pool cold always although pass the 1st Nov. We would not return to the Canifor hotel.

We read the reviews 2 days before arriving in Malta but we were assured that there was no problem with this luxury 4 star hotel. That the reviews were from fussy people so we left home with an open mind. The hotel lobby was very grand but what lurked behind was worse than we could have imagined and the worst place I have ever stayed in. Room allocation a shambles, promises that problems would be sorted next day, we did ask, but we were told to come back the following week. Rooms on first glance ...

We booked the Canifor as it was a 4 star hotel and apparently won an award for the best hotel in Malta 2007 if this was the best what were the rest like. This is no 4 star 2 at best. Impressive lobby conceals the horrors that lurk behind, poor shabby rooms and interior communal areas, basic. Cheap food. Pool not big enough for 20 and dirty. All inclusive drinks, one beer, half dozen cheap spirits, soft drinks. Breakfast rubber eggs, bacon tasting of fish, undercooked sausages and beans continent ...

The staff! Well what can I say, they do work hard at avoiding any form of contact with the customers and if contact is made they bark at you, there are a couple of exceptions, but only just. The food is very poor and everything is done on the cheap despite us spending £1500 - 2 weeks all in for 2 adults (not cheap) we found other hotels within 10mins walk offering better deals and were worthy of the 4 star rating.

I will go to the Canifor Hotel again. I do not understand why previous guests made negative remarks. We were going to cancel our booking due to the negative remarks but decided to go for it!
    No regrets!

    I'd recommend to all.

Good points, absolutely none. Bad points as many as you can think, the worst is the "management is always right, and the customer is always wrong". If you are thinking of booking with this load of tripe...I would not recommend!

After reading other reviews before we went on holiday we were expecting the worst but we were delighted with the whole set up. Those that complain about the hotel must really be looking for 5 stars. Go with an open mind and enjoy what is on offer.

When we booked this holiday with Mercury Direct we specified that we needed disabled access when we arrived we found that there was no disabled access we had to carry the wheelchair up two flights of steps to the reception. During the three weeks we were there one or other of the lifts was out of action several time each week. Future visitors note that the fridge/safe/kettle etc all are at extra charge. 3.50 euro for each person per day we were there for 20 days = 140 euros.
    We bought a kettle & ...

This is down as 4 star but 2 star would be pushing it. We complained on first night of stale smoke and was told there was no other room available. Sheets dirty bedding and pillows a disgrace. We moved out into another hotel after 4 days in room 317 which we paid for on top of what we paid for an all inclusive 4 star holiday. I will not be coming to Malta again and certainly wont be coming to this hotel again. We were disgusted with the quality of the rooms.

I worked at the Canifor Hotel between September 2004 and October 2007, as a waiter and Barman in the cafeteria. In my opinion an employee can describe the Hotel much better that anyone. I've read and seen a lot of tourists coming and going, complaining and having fun at the same time.

The rooms are spacious for everyone, both couples and families. The beds are very comfortable (I slept on them more than one time as I worked long shifts). The rooms and bathrooms are always tidy but in need of a ...

Impressive reception area; generally friendly, helpful and hardworking staff. Good location close to promenade and bus station/shops; room clean with fresh towels every day; AI guests could 'book out' bottles of water on their card whenever they wanted (no drinking water in rooms). But the food we found to be very bland, boring, tasteless, occasionally disgusting and always cold in our case; evening meal a 'buffet' but meat and veg served by chefs giving out very small portions - I asked for mor ...

I went to the Canifor hotel for 2 weeks with my boyfriend and came back on the 24th July, the weather was great the hotel was great - everything about Malta is great. We paid 300 quid each that was everything included; flights and transfers. The room was always clean and tidy the maid came and made our beds every morning, the bathroom was clean as well - that's the main thing for me! The food was good, you had a different choice everyday and there was always meat on the menu good variety of veg ...

Have just returned from the Canifor for a fortnight. We were very sceptical after reading the reviews for the Canifor Hotel, but shouldn't have really worried. It's a lovely clean hotel, the food was fine for how much we paid, probably three carveries was a bit repetitive each week but we only had chips served once in that fortnight. There were 3 choices of meat every tea time as well as salads, cold meats and pasta dishes. Something to please everyone apart from residents who have to find somet ...

Having just returned from a ten day holiday at the Canifor Hotel in Qawra, Malta and having been to Malta three times previously, I thought that I should attempt to write an honest review of the complex, as others seem to be very biased in one direction or another!

I spent ten days in Malta up to mid-July with my girlfriend. We are both in our early twenties and we went All Inclusive. Having read some reviews of the hotel, we were unsure of what to expect, as some raved about the place, but o ...

We got shunted up the road to a derelict overfill building as students had been given your room in the Canifor Hotel. Cramped, dirty, building site view. Appalling food, bread and jam for breakfast, if you want fruit or yoghurt you have to pay. Lunch and dinner are served in tiny portions, same fried up food everyday, not available after 9pm. No entertainment at all. No ramps for the disabled. Management won't listen and ignore you. People crammed in to the pool area which closed at 5 o'clock. T ...
