Good Points: No sickening details about human death, no monsters. Deep insight into the human psychology.

Bad Points: Very sad story about the real life. No hope for the better future.

General comments: This is one of the few Stephen King's novels which does not contain a lot of horror details and various kinds of monsters, zombies, vampires, severed limbs, but makes us think about our lives. In Russia where I live the situation is alike that in the novel when women are not a power, and they should struggle for their lives sometimes. The main thing idea is that the live is hard, and "an accident can be an unhappy woman's best friend". I think it is a kind of family novel which tells much about the relations of parents and children. In my opinion, the book is worth reading and it proves that King can write not only horror stories.
