I hated having to go up and down the stairs all the time which made me feel really tired and unhappy. The food wait wasn't long but the price to get in was to expensive as well as getting a very small portion of food for a very expensive price also there was this one member of staff at the hurricane slide that freaked me and my friend out by singing like she was in an opera house. There was also sand in the jacuzzi. The changing rooms were small and smelt like urine and the showers kept getting hot and cold and the place and slides and stairs were mouldy and had rusty screws and everything.

Some people had to wait for 3hrs to swim, bouncers on the door is just strange. The place was filthy changing rooms were tiny and smelt or urine and the staff were not that friendly or helpful don't think I seen one of them smile. The rides are fun but the whole place just needs CLEANED no idea where they spent the one million pound though. The cafe was stinking as well but reasonably priced. Overall it's an okay day out just a bit grubby

I have never been to a water park where they have 4 bouncers on the doors ! What's that all about. The changing rooms were rank and the water was full of sand, my costume was covered in it. Walking up the stairs to the shoots was absolutely rotten the tiles were disgusting and not cleaned black mould around the edges and full of dirt/ dust. The service in the cafe was abysmal and the staff are so morbid crack a smile it makes a difference. The kids had a great time however the place needs improved and cleaned won't be going back

Today I visited wet n wild with my 3 other friends. I had been in the past before the refurbishment although I had only been once or twice due to the dirtiness of the waterpark. Today when I arrived I was under the impression it had been cleaned and refurbished. I knew there was no new slides or equipment, I just knew they had gotten rid of the infestation and it had been 'cleaned'. When I arrived there was a 3 and a half hour wait, where the bouncer was rude. We went into the changing rooms where it was dirty. We went in to the pool to pool slide and when we got into the first little pool there was sand and floaters in the pool which I found disgusting. When we proceeded to the wave pool there were many floating items such as dead insects. All of the staff at wet n wild appeared to be ill. The chlorine levels were through the roof making everyone's eyes water and turn red. Also it was extremely hot and hard to breathe as me and my friends had to keep going outside to get air. I would not recommend this place to anyone as it needs a thorough cleaning.

Well, It started when me and my freinds arranged to go to wet 'n' wild, Having seen the reviews i exsplained to them about everything i over read on my laptop.
when we got in the pool it was filthy! There was moss and dirt all over the pool side which was horrid! We got into the water and it was freezing! after 15 minutes most of my freinds including me had blue lips, We went in the so called 'Lazy River' which did not work at all, THe same for 2 of the slides and the wave machine, We then got into the Jaccuzie which was quite good i suppose, Until one of my freinds spotted a USED Tampon floating around the water as we quickly got out of the Juccuzie Of Germs my freind slipped and hurt her knee badley she was bleeding alot and the lifegaurd just told us to stop acting silly over something so stupid.
I Would NOT Reccomend this to anyone i know, I will NEVER Be going back,
I DO reccomend a MAJOR make over to wet and wild with diffrent slides, Heaters, And CLEAN Water.

WETNWILD North Shields-When we arrived it looked pleasent but didnt like the idea off walking around with our shoes on when people have to use the changing rooms with no shoes. The cleaner was using a dirty mop,and the canteen wasnt very clean, and very expensive for what you got.
Getting into the water was a shock was so cold we had two babies with us and there lips were blue after 30minutes,we were in a group off 12people so spent nearly 130 just to get in and only spening an hour or so in the water because it was so cold.
Having to wait so long for the slides makes you give up,maybe an admission fee for people who want to swim but not go on the slides would be good, only three showers worked and 1 was cold dont think we would ever go back after wasting so much money.Water really needs to be warmer and food prices dropped would never recomend to anyone.

I have just visited Wet n Wild today with my partner (28), my nephew (4) and my partners little girl (9). Although we had a fun time, the place could do with a MAJOR MAKE OVER as I don't think it's had a lick of paint since it opened, nothing has changed since I was there 12 years ago! It cost £43 entry, which I think is a little pricey. The changing rooms are small and could do with revamping, same goes with the toilets. The lazy river isn't very lazy as there aren't very many rings to sit on, I think I counted 5! The tiles are very grotty, wood railings are rotting, metal is rusting and there seems to be moss growing on the fake rocks. Some of the slides don't seem to be very' slidey' anymore and again those rides where rings are required, there aren't many available. The Calamity Canyon has foam flooring in each pool, which is ripped and very slippy and some of the other slides you can feel the rivets where the pieces of slides are joined together. The cafe is just another fast food outlet and doesn't leave much to the imagination! I must stay that the staff seemed pleasant and helpful. It's a shame that the place has been left to deteriorate, it could do with being closed down for a few months and a lot of the stuff being replaced and cleaned OR if a similar park opened elsewhere, which will give Wet n Wild a run for its money and maybes make the owners buck up their ideas!

DISGUSTING!!! DO NOT PAY THE HIGH PRICE FOR ENTERY!!!! OR WASTE YOUR TIME GOING!!!!
We went, myself my partner, and our 3 boys aged 1,3&5, the toliets are a mess really dirty, the changing rooms are tiny no where near big enough for familys the doors do not lock and full of mould growing up the walls, next the child pool, water is freezing to the point my kids lips were blue!!! mould growing up the slides and all over the floors, two of my sons injured them selves in the child pool, my partner cut him self on the slides, and i only saw 3 life guards petrolling the whole pool, a was horrified at the state i would NOT reccomend this place to anyone!!

the kids love wet n wild, we
Are a family of 4, kids are 6 and 12,we took grandma as well. Grandma wanted to sit outside as it was a nice day, the area around the outdoor lagoon was covered in weeds. There was no comfortable seats for grandma to sit on. As I looked around I noticed how shabby everything has become, the windows were a mess, the toilets were horrible, the slides were in need of re-painting, the cafe was rubbish and expensive, the girl behind the counter was complaining that there was a que, just as she was about to finish. There was rubbish and bits of food everywhere, we are way behind America when it comes to cleanliness and customer service. Overall 4/10 or 2xx

Good:
Some of the slides are ok - the double ring ride and the yellow ring ride (cant remember their names). The Black Hole ride looked good but was closed for no given reason. The other fast rides are good too.
Bad:
The lazy river - there were about 4 tyres for everyone to share, and it was pointless anyway as there was no current so you didn't go anywhere.
Dirty - how hard is it for someone to put a stepladder by the palm trees and clean them? The branches hang vertical with the weight of the dust and muck.
Bad slides - the 2 slow and 2 medium slides were rubbish. Me and my daughter both got stuck and had to push ourselves down with our hands and heels. They should provide mats.
Overall apart from a couple of the slides Wet n Wild is a pretty poor "waterpark". It looks like the management and owners have lost interest. Its dirty, tatty and poorly maintained. It has potential but needs closing down for 6 months for a really good overhaul and for some of the slides to be replaced.

My friend & me decided to visit Wet 'n 'Wild the other day and it turned out to be one of the worst experiences of that place. I started visiting Wet 'n 'Wild in 1999 regularly and usually my memories of that place has been fun happy time
Anyway we both payed to get in and its quite expensive I might add! I think my friend payed like £8.47 and I played like £10.97 because I paying an extra £2.50 for the locker although you do get that £2.50 back. After paying you walk along a balcony leading to the caf area where spectators can watch, food can be bought (at high prices) and there used to be a little arcade section, which is unfortunately vanished now. Usually there ' s stairs leading down into what they call the changing village but the stair were being updated which I suppose is a plus. So since these stairs were gone we had to go down the stairs towards the pool and around to the changing area from there. The changing village is in serious need of better lighter and a cleaner would be nice to. Seriously it gets extremely slippery around this area so be careful. Once we had changed we had abit of trouble finding our locker and once we found it; it turned out to be a tiny thing and we had to try and fit like 3 bags of stuff in there.
Anyway once we had changed, put stuff in locker and showered we decided to start of in the lazy river. This at once used to be my favourite area but I don ' t think so anymore. First the water was absolutely freezing cold which was a first for me. The water has usually been luke warm in past times I ' ve been in. Anyway since we were like the first in of the day we were able to get some inflatable rings to sit in and float around. It was while floating around I noticed that a lot of things usually on weren ' t on. Usually when going along the lazy river theirs water jets and fountains 'little things like that to make it extra interesting. My friend soon got bored of the river (can ' t blame her; it was nothing without the jets & fountains on) so I decided to show her the proper pool area.
You can walk through to the pool area from the river by going through a little cave thing. I should also mention there ' s a lot of bridges crossing over the water.
The pool area doesn ' t get very deep at al; at the deepest I can still stand on my toes! Its usually a dull place (unless you enjoy watching parents forcing they babies to float) until the waves come on
We were planning to go on a slide where 2 people came go down together (The Abyss, The Blackhole & Calamity Canyon) but they weren ' t open yet so we went into one of the 2 Jacuzzis. If your planning to send most of the day in the Jacuzzi I highly suggest getting there early because these usually go quite quickly. We were lucky since we were first in we were first to get them. To be honest the Jacuzzi was probably the best part of the day out! Well it was warm for a start, lol!
Here we go 'the slides! I can ' t remember all the names of the slides so please forgive me there. You do have slow, medium and fast slides though.
Heres what I came remember:
Medium " The Calamity Canyon
Fast " Kamikaze, The Abyss, The Blackhole, Twister
You need inflatable rings for Calamity Canyon (single), The Abyss & The Blackhole (both double).
My friend and me went on the Blackhole first ' she loved it. I must admit its quite an excited slides. In a double ring you sit with your friend and wait for the light to go green. Then you go down this extreme fast slide, which is in complete darkness apart from effects. You can feel the wind on your face 'good experience. Next was the Abyss! Again double ring needed but there ' s a lifeguard that pushing you down. You go down a double drop in darkness, come out into the exit bay and then go back up again and then fall back down.
The next main slide I want to talk about is also the one I want to complain about 'The Calamity Canyon! In this slide you go down in a single ring and after short bits of chute you come out into what I would call these little lagoons where you can either rest or continue. This USED to be my favourite slide, as I liked to rest in the lagoons but not anymore
Basically after this we decided to leave! We went there at 11 in the morning expecting to leave sometime after 5 when we actually left about half 2 & the place opened at 12!

I agree on some aspects but the rides are fun! Especially Calamity Canyon. The lifegaurds are misrible . But apary from the prices of food and to get in, the lifeguards and the quality of the food it is a fun placce to visit with your friends.!!!

Was alright with some slides and the wave machine was good. Not 2 bad but seen better! But it was dirty and some of the slower rides I had 2 walk through the tube as the slide wouldn't take me down! Needs a good clean up and refurbishment listen to the customers as they are always right!!!!!!! (also a little expensive for what you got)

Would be worth closing for a year and getting entirely modernized, although current slides are very good but dirty and rusty in places. Does anyone know when wet n wild opened?

I've been to the Wet 'n' Wild water park in North Shields many times, and I have always enjoyed the overall visit. I don't think the staff are very good because the rules are not properly enforced. It could do with some small refurbishments, but don't get me wrong here, it's great fun! I would happily recommend a visit, and I am going again soon. Happy swimming!

Overall I found that North Shields Wet 'n' Wild was an enjoyable place to go, especially for children, however the above point made the day more awkward, also I found that some of the rides weren't turned on, however when I payed for the tickets I didn't know this.

Well i think it is good that there is only one small area for people to smoke, as i, a non smoker finds it highly uncomfortable to be around people that smoke especially as there are children around who are also breathing in your smoke making them under risk of falling ill to. I also find it very unsociable and unhygenic when people are smoking in public areas. I feel very strongly to this situation as my grandfather smoked around his children and it has been anounced that because of this, my father now has lung cancer and is on the way to deaths road.
Written on: 08/12/2005
i can see your point, and i wouldn't want to smoke in front of people who don't like smoking, but as i was there with my kids for nearly 3 hrs it was unavoidable that i had to have a smoke, and i just felt it was annoying to have to take my kids up right to the top of the building just for me to have a cig. Before anyone says it, yes- i know its my fault for being addicted to cigarettes, i'd just rather have had a room where i could have watched my kids in the pool whilst smoking.

North Shields, Wet 'n' Wild - Although my daughter enjoyed it here I found it far too hot and the interior could use some updating.
