I visited Wet & Wild with my partner and daughter (aged 3 years). I am 50/50! Admission was a little over priced, not much signage to direct you to the changing area, Chcnaging cubicles are small, the family changing room was not big enough for all of us to change in so I had to get my own. I noticed sufficient life guards spotted around the pool and can safely say they were doing a good job after watching one of them help a young boy who got a little too out of his depth, very fast... WETNWILD North Shields-When we arrived it looked pleasent but didnt like the idea off walking around with our shoes on when people have to use the changing rooms with no shoes. The cleaner was using a dirty mop,and the canteen wasnt very clean, and very expensive for what you got.
Getting into the water was a shock was so cold we had two babies with us and there lips were blue after 30minutes,we were in a group off 12people so spent nearly 130 just to get in and only spening an hour or so in...

I would not recommend going to wet and wild in North Shelds. Its run down, dirty and very cold. Most the showers don't work and the shower water is luke warm at the best. I think they must be running it into the ground and squeezing as much cash out of the place before its closed. (read more)

We enjoyed all the slides and the lazy river and all that, and we understand about the mould because that is what constant water does. all of these bad views are ridiculous. especially those that blame the staff!
All in all:
Price to get in - understandable, privately owned
Receptionists - very pleasent, nice meet 'n' greet women
Lifeguards - constantly on look-out, kind happy male and female young folk
Managers - very helpful, well trained
Cafeteria staff - pleasent, helpful and 'on the ball'
Cleaners - constantly busy (as would be expected), friendly looking

I have just visited Wet n Wild today with my partner (28), my nephew (4) and my partners little girl (9). Although we had a fun time, the place could do with a MAJOR MAKE OVER as I don't think it's had a lick of paint since it opened, nothing has changed since I was there 12 years ago! It cost £43 entry, which I think is a little pricey. The changing rooms are small and could do with revamping, same goes with the toilets. As this is the only park of it's kind in the North East - there in maybe lies the problem - no competition! My family and friends love the slides. However, the place is filthy. The tiles are broken and dirty. I previously worked at Wet n Wild as a lifeguard.
Here are a few TRUE facts that I think people should know:
Wet n Wild is privately owned, therefore prices are not value for money.
Wet n Wild is privately owned, therefore the water is not heated to save running costs.
Wet n Wild is privately owned, therefore a cheap alternative to chlorine (used in council pools) is used, and the absolute minimum is added to the water.
On busy Sunday afternoons, when the waiting time to get on most rides...

Wet 'n' Wild is a very suitable water park for all ages. For younger children there is an area with simple and open slides for them to go down. Each ride is rated either slow, medium or fast. There is 'The Lazy River' where there is rubber rings (not many) for you to go down and there is a small pool with a shallow and deep end and a little cave you can swim under with a wave machine every hour I think. The slide suitable for everyone is 'Calamity Canyon' where you go down some slides into a... (read more)

Good:
Some of the slides are ok - the double ring ride and the yellow ring ride (cant remember their names). The Black Hole ride looked good but was closed for no given reason. The other fast rides are good too.
Bad:
The lazy river - there were about 4 tyres for everyone to share, and it was pointless anyway as there was no current so you didn't go anywhere.
Dirty - how hard is it for someone to put a stepladder by the palm trees and clean them? The branches hang vertical with the weight...
