Good centre although island is small, service good and very attentive. Dive centre a little disorganised Dhoni's (boats) quite old. Recommended - had a great time. House reef is good. A very friendly place where you can't avoid making new friends!

We visited here Feb 08 for 2 weeks and would definitely return, we had a fantastic 2 weeks. A very friendly island, staff are fantastic, rooms are clean and food is gorgeous. You will not find better sea life anywhere in the Maldives which is just off the beach. My only negative points would be that the rooms would benefit from a refurb, and the restaurant is smokey, so if they made it non smoking it would be great.

Fantastic location. Basic room, and it takes a while to get round to the bathroom minus a roof. Take a hairdryer as only the deluxe or luxury rooms offer one. Also, if you want an enclosed bathroom book a deluxe room. Superior offers open bathroom only. Specify a room on the south side, as it's much nicer than the North side. Also, part of the beach at the North side was washed away by the Tsunami, and people with rooms at this end did not have a beach area and sunbathed under the trees. I would have been very disappointed to have been offered a room at this end.
There's little entertainment - a two piece band and a crab race. The disco is uneventful, and you will find yourself alone on the floor.
Vilamendhoo Beach Villa in the Maldives is in a wonderful setting for honeymooners or romantic couples who want to retire after their dinner at night. Not a holiday for singletons unless you want to make your own entertainment.
The food is amazing, and coupled with the location it really makes the holiday. The waiters are nice and helpful, but give the Germans their main attention due to the big tips they get from them.
An ideal place to swim, snorkel and dive. The sharks swim around the edges of the island that takes you a whole 30 minutes to walk around. This is amazing, as you can see the little fish swim around your legs.
You feel a little isolated, which I love. You have your own beach space and it is very private. You can stumble from your bungalow onto the white sands, just a few meters away from the waters edge.
I love this holiday, but think there might be better islands than Vilamendhoo. I'm going back to this island for the third time in a year, and this is definitely my last visit. I will try somewhere else next time around.

Went to Vilamendhoo Beach Villa in the Maldives in 2002 as a 'one off', and been back every single year since... Say no more.
The day trip for Thellaga (uninhabited island) for a BBQ is a real pleasure.
Worth paying for the Emirates flights from UK to Male (via Dubai) if you can, as you will get a better service, better food, more comfortable, and more reliable on a long trip than charter flights.
Room boys will willingly hike your sunbeds to any part of the island you want. (closer to the bar for instance...)

I found this review helpful because... we are to fly emirates, have flown monach before and due to length of flight happy to hear food and service of good quality. We go march 09 cannot wait, picked island on the swimming and marine life.
