I Spent Some Weeks Scouting Around The Local Shops
I spent some weeks scouting around the local shops and internet looking for a 32" widescreen TV. After many hours of reaserch and reading a number of reviews I had narrowed the search to the Phillips 32PW9528 or the Toshiba 32ZP38. The Toshiba had the edge on style, sound, and conectivity, but the Phillips was far superior in picture quality. Unless your main priority is watching DVDs via component video I would stongly suggest the Phillips over the Toshiba. Its also several hundred pounds cheaper even via the interenet. The speakers that come with the Toshiba are fairly tacky so you could use the money you save on the Phillips to buy a decent home cinema system! Pixel Plus Rocks!

Having Read Other Helpful Articles I Thought It Wa
Having read other helpful articles I thought it was a good idea to write my own for the benefit of others who are deliberating over which TV to buy.
I've yearned for a nice new widescreen TV with bells and whistles for several years and when I was finally in a position to purchase one I wanted to make it count.
I did the usual search and managed to narrow my choice down to either the Sony KV32FX68S or the Philips 32PW9308C which were pretty hard to split.
However following a visit to Comet I was taken by the 2002-2003 Award Winning Philips 32PW9528, which is the higher spec version of the Philips 32PW0308C and looks an overall classier TV.
What a choice, the picture is very good and the sound (even without surround sound) is excellent. It also comes with 3 scart sockets, one more than the lower spec version.
I've had the TV several days now and really can't fault this beauty.
You definitely need two people for taking delivery and placing the TV on to the stand though. I struggled on my own.
PS if you don't want to pay Comet prices and are happy with a Graded TV, try ASM Direct Ltd, Crawley, you will be pleasantly surprised on how competitive they are. Mine had a minor blemish on the back of the TV, although you can barely see it even when looking directly for the blemish.
Enjoy.

My Philips 32pw9528 Is Just Over A Month Old.the P
My Philips 32PW9528 is just over a month old.The picture in general is very detailed and displays a real depth of feild in the pixel plus and movie plus modes. So far no problems. But one things niggles me.In brightly lit images there seems to be a very slight darker streak running verticaly just off centre. Is there a way I can de-gause the screen ?

The Philips 32pw9528 Has The Same Great Points Awa
The PHILIPS 32PW9528 has the same great points awarded last year by EISA and technical journals and magasines but with the former reliability problems already solved.
I disagree with this review because...it's NOT reliable, unless you call a TV that can't even last 5 years as reliable.
