    Good Points: easy to ride.
    looks amazing at night
    fun to ride
    perfect first ped

    Bad Points: Slow wen restricted.

General comments: I got my 05 Piaggio NRG DD air cooled sportseries for crimbo 08. And it is a abrilliant piece of kit. Handles great. Very easy toswing round bends and fun over all to drive.
I would recommend getting it derestricted though.
Just removing the washer from the variator makes that much difference.

To be honest the Piaggio NRG is probably the best scooter (50cc) ever made. One of my mates has a speedfight derestricted and does that of the line and top speed. It also does the majority of aeroxs as well apart from the ones that have had big carbs put on and air filters. If your thinking about buying a 50 buy an NRG.

I love my Piaggio NRG... its a excellent 50cc bike... also very fast!! i can beat almost every 50cc around my area!... i have a Mallosi red sponge filter + doppler racing exhaust.. along with derestricted it tops 60!.. the brakes are excellent!.. ride quality is also very good... along with handling this is also very good!.. it will cruise at 50 all day... runs better on supreme unleaded (Tesco) also 100% synthetic oil!!.. all i can say is... the more you look after it the longer it will last yo ...

It is a lovely smooth ride, can be derestricted and does go very very fast if wanted. Overwall a excellent bike for new riders.

I can't find the battery for it and it need charging badly! Does anyone know where it is? Is it the red box between the foot board and under the seat? It does look to small although all the wires are running in to it.

I bought a Piaggio NRG 50 for £370 but it needed new brakes and new rollers, I have put a TNT hand made exhaust on it and also a K&N air filter which has made it sound very bassy. I have also bought chrome mirrors, chrome foot plates, black front and back lenses instead of orange ones.
My bike is not very fast at pulling off but top end is about 65mph can anyone tell me how to sort out my pulling off.

When I was looking for a second hand 50cc a mate of mine said try the Piaggio NRG 50 so I did. I found a seller with an NRG scooter it was derestricted with a sports ZX Leo Vince exhaust shifting the ped to 65mph+. It was a nice ride and everything fast fun but it just didn't do it for me I prefer the Runner 50 Its just that little bit more sporty.
But all in all the NRG is one of the best scooters you can buy.
