One of the most fantastic holidays I have ever been on. It was far and above the conventional package holiday. It truely was a holiday of a lifetime. The resort was idiyllic, and staff were superb,. Exceeding all expectations. We had the chef catering for us morning and evening within the confines of our villa. Nothing too much trouble. He was able to cook anything you asked for, not that you would like cottage pie with the excessive heat. It really was one of the most chilled holidays where you were treated like royalty. As the resort is quite small, we made some great friends. However if you didn't want to mix, there was no pressure. I dream of when I can return to this hidden jewel of a resort. The wildlife wandering around the resort was amazing, monitor lizards and monkeys waiting to get any tidbits at breakfast time. They sit on the fence line waiting for the thrown bananas!! Watch them move and grab it before it hits the ground.
We should have gone to Bali but had to cancel due to the bombing and Galu Beach was our alternative. So glad to have come here, instead.

Nothing is too much trouble for the amazing staff and management. They put on the rugby for us in the lounge. England vs. .S.Africa complete with beer fridge and staff on hand to assist.Fantastic atmosphere, plus England won!!
Very relaxing with beauty salon where you can relax,( when the heat is maybe a little too hot.) full body massage, manicure and pedicures available to make you feel even more pampered.
The staff were able to cater for last minute get togethers in the villas, if you wished to eat with friends you had made. Superb!! Entertainment for those who wished to get involved with this. Great beach volleyball wish of course was quite competetive, with only minor casualties!! Great entertainment on some evenings with local dancers and people selling their wares. Ideal for gifts to take home.

Very difficult to think of any bad points. Maybe a little out of the way. However the staff would quite readily arrange transport to other places nearby. Ali Babas the fantastic restaurnt in the caves. Great atmosphere and food, really nice Scottish owner who quite happily told us the story of how he came across the cave. No other bad points at all. We weren't bothered by any sellers on the beach. The only other bad point was the amount of camera films used. Cost me a fortune to get them all printed at home. But priceless as in terms of value, help me to remember just how great this place was.

Nice Place, Lovely people, Excellent chef - The people there could not do enough to help out. Pamela on reception is a real gem! It's at the end of a really bad road, cockroaches in the kitchen, spent several days in hospital with stomach problems and was not alone from the same resort. Sand flies bite all the time dispite the owners spraying every morning, 60 school children arrived for 10 days, two days before we left thank goodness. Would I go back....no thanks

It is a lovely secluded hotel, with the friendliest staff I have ever experienced. I felt completely relaxed as soon as I arrived. The hotel seems to major on offering the 'personal chef' option, and I can honestly say that it is worth doing to have the choice and flexibility. If you are doing a Safari as well within Kenya, I would highly recommend flying to the Masai Mara - our trek to Tsavo by road was physically draining because of the poor state of the roads. The Shimba hills 'Tree-house ...

After a week on Safari, it was so nice just to have a week to relax. That is exactly what Pinewood had to offer. The staff were so friendly and very helpful, and they couldn't do enough for you. Both my boyfriend and I had a fantastic time, and we would definitely recommend to others.

We spent our honeymoon in Pinewood Village in April 2005 and to be honest we were disappointed overall with the standard of accomodation. Our suite was not clean when we arrived, for example dirty dishes in the sink and the bath had not been wiped down. We did complain and were told that the resort was to close in the next few weeks for renovations. Not an accepable excuse at all. The only positive comment I can make about Pinewood is their staff who are extremely friendly. We did complain ...

My husband and I were married in January and we couldnt have asked for a better place than Pinewood Village. Galu Beach was superb.

All staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for the manager, who even came to visit me in hosptial and gave my husband a lift to and from the hospital - not many hotel managers would do that!!

Food wasnt what we expected in Kenya but was still of a high standard - we also opted for a personal chef which is a great idea. The rooms were exactly ...

My husband and I got married in Pinewood, and we could not have asked for a better location. Everything about our time there, and all the efforts by the staff, that went into our wedding day, were amazing. The food is excellent, staff extremely friendly, location breathtaking, a total chill out. Thankyou Pinewood!!! We will return!!!

We chose Pinewood Village as the beach element of our Safari Holiday in 2003. We'd spent 6 days on the dusty roads of Kenya, and flew from the Masai Mara to an airstrip just south of Mombassa. That in itself was brilliant. We waited a fair bit for our transfer minibus, but it was all part of the trip and wasn't really a problem. It was worth the wait, though. If you want to be waited on hand and foot (literally - see below), this is the place for you. Each of the two-bed roomed "houses" - ...
