i have just been to lincoln for an interview travelling from grimsby to do so (40miles) and after the third interview was told wat i was going to be selling as they made it clear they didnt want to tell us until training. i found out that i was training to sell a kerby hoover and to be honest would of never travelled so far to learn about a hoover that is over priced a waste of money and a brainwashing training programme to sell to ure friends and family the price of these hoovers explained to me was at £2395
and felt uncomfortable to be apart of the training (brainwashing)
do not buy one of these gimmics for the love of god

I absolutely love my kirby. I have owned it for almmost two years and will never switch brands. This is the one Ive been looking for. It is a bit pricey but if you listen closely to the 10 year plan the salesman shows you, you will realize that it pays for itself!!!! Even though I live in apartments I haven't lost money on my security deposits due to carpet being dirty; and I have three kids!!! So I highly recommend it, there are a lot of attatchments, you may not use all of them all the time, ...- Read Guest's review (105 words)

I got my 1st and only Kirby G5 8 years ago 2nd hand from a mate who worked at a vacuum cleaner shop, he sold german cleaners new. He told me that the Kirby was still the best vacuum he had ever seen or used. Several other friends got new dysons, for around about $1000 NZ, all of them have broken down, and have been replaced, that 4 broken plastic dysons.
There are a few problems with the Kirby, the bags are really expensive, they are heavy, its hard to get into corners, but there are so many pl ...- Read Guest's review (264 words)

I was very unsure about spending £900 on a vacuum, however 15 years later and with just a couple of spare parts this kirby g5 is brilliant value for money. it is heavy to carry up stairs but that is just because it is so well built
There are so many features and accessories that it is hard to find any faults with the whole package. Kirby support is also exceptional, the team we deal with are quick, attentive and provide service that equals the build quality of the vacuum.

Exceptionally well made vacuum cleaner. Kirby G5 / 6 / 7 is very power and an excellent cleaning too. Many configurations of accessories give a wide range of uses when it comes to cleaning.
You will only ever buy one Kirby so initial costs becomes negligible in a very short space of time. Parts are readily available either from Kirby or on the internet. Rolls Royce of vacuums.
Bit noisier than usual vacuum but it isn't made of plastic/cheap and nasty which more than makes up for the noise.- Read browna's review (86 words)

I had 5 new vaccums over 7 years and all were really dreadful at picking up the dog hairs. I then purchased another new Hoover, again...rubbish. I phoned them and created such a fuss that I got the member of staff who said he would personally bring another new one with him. He arrived with said hoover and it was rubbish, he appologised and went.
I purchased the Kirby G5 / 6 / 7 and now, 11 years later, it is as good today as when new.- Read Guest's review (100 words)

Kirby G5 / 6 / 7 does do a good job, however too heavy far too expensive.
Waste of £1000, Dyson is just as good and easier to work with. Plus with a Dyson they dont ring you up at home every month trying to sell you a service. I dont service my car as much as a Kirby, i had to change my phone number to get rid of them.- Read Guest's review (67 words)

I knew a rep for Kirby and also had the whole sales patter at my house and they are a huge waste of money. I had 2 dogs (Labradors) and my Dyson did the job at least as well as the Kirby at a 10th of the cost. Who vacuums their mattress every 6th months! If you need your carpets deep cleaned then get a pro in who will do your house for about £100 tops.
People here are probably defending them out of a misplaced sense of loyalty or they are trying to justify the huge amount of money they ...- Read truebluesteve's review (138 words)

The kirby is very efficient, although heavy to take up stairs, the only downside I have found was when I needed to have it serviced. The two representative who came worked as a team to sell be another newer version, and I felt that the actual service was by far a secondary necessity as far as they were concerned and once they finally understood I did not want a need one, they haste at getting out the door was impressive.- Read Guest's review (125 words)

I have had a kirby vacuum for 5 months and it seemed great on the outset. One day it I thought it seemed that my kirby had a surge in power and pulled up an eighteen inch thread from a flat carpet. This made my carpet appear thread bare. Being a large company I felt I would have been treated fairly but in my opinion it didn't appear that I was. I sent e mail to explain my problem and I didn't receive a response in a reasonable time, so I sent a second and i was told a representative would conta ...- Read justagirly's review (286 words)

I have just purchased a brand new Kirby Cleaner. I did not pay anything near the asking price and with it I received a free hard floor kit system, packet of bags and shampoo system, plus a bottle of shampoo, a bottle of citrus solution, spot stain remover, heavy traffic remover and oil and grease remover.
My friends and relatives instantly noticed how beautiful the rug looked, having cleaned it with the Kirby. I would highly recommend the Kirby machine especially if you can get the price lower ...- Read Guest's review (209 words)

I have owned a G5 since 1997. At the time I thought "what an idiot paying £1100 for a vacuum cleaner"! However 11 years later and the unit amortised over this time, has cost £100 per year which doesn't seem so bad.
The G5 I have, works as it did 11 years ago and has had no major replacement, (just belts). The performance outstrips even the best of the rest. It really does get out all the dirt, even from deep pile carpets.
We have a Retriever dog who sheds masses of hair, yet the c ...- Read snowleopard's review (257 words)

Overall the Kirby G5 vacuum works and has many attachment options but there may be cheaper ones that achieve the same outcome. Gets up the dog hairs but perhaps most vacuums may nowadays. The Kirby is heavy, noisy and very expensive to buy.- Read Guest's review (57 words)

Service engineer called to have a look at my Kirby vacuum cleaner and stripped a thread in the main casing then didn't have the correct screw to fit. I noticed the handle was loose when machine was handed back. I was asked had I dropped it? More fiddling about and the handle was fixed.Best part was informed the motor was sparking and the cost of replacement could go prove to be a deposit on a new Kirby!- Read seldom's review (93 words)

I'll never buy another Kirby after the G5!
Doesn't have any more suction power than one I could have bought for $200. It stinks from the odour of the carpets. Can't get the smell out whatsoever and the shampooer isn't nearly as good as a Rug Doctor. I wish I had spent my money on a Rainbow.- Read stormee4me's review (75 words)

Anyone who owns a Kirby must admit how fantastic they are. The dry foam system that it uses to clean carpets is amazing and not like anything I have used before. The upright it self is also amazing. It picks up everything that other vacuum cleaners leave behind. The wand is also very good and all the attachments are very easy to use once you know how, and its not really brain surgery now is it!!- Read charlie812's review (124 words)

Kirby offer a yearly maintenance contract, this year the mechanic brought along a sales rep who pushed my parents into buying a new Kirby hoover. My parents initially told him they did not want a new hoover, but eventually gave in to the salesman who refused to take no for an answer and eventually they yielded 'just to get him out of the house'!
The new hoover cost over £1200 and my parents were so embarrassed that they had fallen for the salesman's aggressive selling tactics that they ...- Read contrary girl's review (246 words and 4 comments)

I bought the Kirby G5 Vacuum cleaner from a door salesman. His technique was overpowering, and I found it hard to get rid of him. I have never used all the attachments, e.g. Sander, Shampoo and massage attachments. I wasted a lot of money on these.- Read Foxfield's review (70 words)
