Virgin is the worst broadband I have ever used! I have a 30MBPS line and it does not works even like a 3 MBPS one. Connection keeps breaking in between too frequently, much more than enough to frustrate you! the wireless does not works with their stupid 'Super-Hub' on my 6 months old laptop as they say my laptop is quite old!
Not a single song or video plays smoothly, keeps hanging and that too when we use maximum 1 or 2 laptops, earlier we had O2 (8 or 10 MBPS) and it was superb, we could run… Read Full Review

I have found Virgin to be brilliant where I am, and I have had them at three different addresses in Bristol. I get 9.6Mbps on a 10Mb connection and this is consistent. Occasionally, I need to restart the modem or router, which is a bit of a nuisance, but it doesn't happen often. The only negative experience I have had was on both occasions I moved house and there was a c**k-up with the installation date, causing a slight delay each time.

Virgin Media has been useless since they launched 50M B/band (was ok before). Assume as they are ring fencing the pipe for the 50MB brigade. However seems you have to upgrade to 50MB to get previous speeds on 10MB.
I'm on up to 10MB - now can't watch Youtube, iPlayer, Spotify is useless in evening / weekends. (ok in day - they turn on the 'Network Management' in evening.

virgin is by far the slowest internet provider. with 10 mb download speeds yeh right id like to see that i use internet radio on 64kbps and virgin cannot use this bandwith without buffering and losing conection , i cannot play online games for more than a minute on games for windows without it losing connection to servers stay away from virgin and go take your money elsewere i would rather have no internet than stick with virgin… Read Full Review

Virgin Broadband is a complete and utter joke. I am paying for 20mg and get at most 1mg thats if i am lucky. I am now looking for a better ISP as Virgin are the worst that i have ever dealt with. How i wish UK online was still around, over 5yrs with them and no problems.

Probably the worst customer support experience i've had. Useless operators. Not delivering when they say they will. Poor peak time broadband performance with massive jitter for sub-standard online gaming experience. My 1mb Sky ADSL is more reliable. Avoid like the painchoth, Virgin standard have slipped customer services are full of lies. They will promise you a deal to stay with them, then a 2 weeks later get a letter stating 12 month contract on a totally different price plan and when you ring them they blame you for mis understanding the deal!!

moved from o2 bb as bt were taking what ever they wanted from my bank account so o2 stoped. so went to virgin 50mg bb and can i say wow what a load of rubbish it is. no way in this world or the next is it 50mg i have trouble watching 30 second clips on youtube at 1am after i get home from work. now moving to sky all in phone and bb for £18 a month and i know i will be getting 10mg but thats more than virgin's 50mg, they did offer me a better deal to stay but if the bb was a £1 i would still go… Read Full Review

I've been using Virgin since October 2010 at 50Mbps package. The download speed I got was only 1.6Mb/sec maximum and upload at 512 Kb/sec. I guess it's cheating but I had no say in it as my friend had already signed the contract. Months went by and we managed paying that hefty amount for this broadband only service. Now as of Feb 27, 2011 the service has even deteriorated even worse. Now the internet is very unstable and sometimes even disconnects on it's own. Its a real pain in the ass for me… Read Full Review

Absolutely pathetic! I would advise people to avoid VM at all costs. Since about November 2010, our connection sits at about 1-2MB during off peak hours then drops to about 0.01 as soon as it gets to 4pm! This is based on us apparently getting a speed of 8MB. Apparently a speed of 0.04MB is considered 'acceptable' for an 8MB line as well....
If you don't use the internet for anything other than Facebook, then help yourself. If you fancy trying iPlayer or gaming, don't waste your time. Ringing… Read Full Review

Stack em high sell em cheap this is how VM operate their buisness. Virgin, RUBBISH, a simple word to describe a company. Max speed since December 15 till now (middle Feb 2011) is 0.5 mbps if i get anything at all. They have had works in the area since December, dont even bother to notify. No connection at all from 5pm to 11pm and when it does come back it is a max of 0.05 if anything. Rubbish, calling Virgin can't do nothing and they keep cutting of the phone. If these reviews ever get through to Mr Branson i sure hope he understand what a poor media company… Read Full Review

we switched to virgin broadband because we were promised 20 Mbps broadband, , recently it has been fluctuating between 1-5Mbps, when we contacted customer services we were told about the acceptable use policy
