I was a Tiscali BB customer for 7 years. We reported poor or unreliable connection over much of that time and spent countless hours on the phone to non-uk tech support. While they had plenty of scripted chat, they never solved the problem. In frustration, we moved to BT. On the day of transfer, connection speed DOUBLED, before installing the BT hub. Sine tiscali were taken over by Talk talk the service has been ddreadful. It is slow. The messages sent cannot be found and after accessing an inbox mail one goes back to the inbox and there is a blank page. I have had a simialr problem with contacting technical support. Yes they are polite but their accent is difficult to understand and they talk so quickly. Additioonally I am hard of hearing and ask them to speak up but with little response. I am using a wireless connection, yet when I am in the middle of writing a long email, I find that it has disconnected. It gives you the offer of saving the message to drafts before re-signing on. That, of course must be their idea of a joke! Its may or more usually may not be there. If it is, there is only half of it. Was with Tiscali for many years and have noticed no difference in the service other than a sudden increase of 30% in the cost. However have no complaints about the service, spedds are generally in the 3 to 4mb range which is not bad considering my distance from the exchange. (read more)

Been with tiscali then talktalk for 3yrs, since talktalk took over rubbish!tried to go wireless on 2 laptops, nightmare. Spoke to people in India they were polite and helpful,but couldnt connect either to wireless i have a new moden one week old, they say it is a faulty modem and talktalk are trying to tell me i have to pay £50 for another one. i would not recommend talktalk to my worst enemy they are useless. I have been with Tiscali for 5 years for calls. Talk Tlak snet me a vague letter date March 2011 preching about an improved billing system. For them maybe. On the reverse is a single entry that says "my package" has been moved to UK Evening and Weekend. It was suppised to start on 15th March but they have backdated the call charges to 1 Feb. The call charges went up by 7-8x from about £15 per month to over £100.

Had Tiscali Max for many years the service was fine, not one issue until talktalk took over, download speed went form 7M to 0.5M over night, customer service were completely useless, tech support even more so

Had similar experience as other here, called and kept on phone for 1 hour 45 mins and passed to at least 6 departments all in India, with no result at the end. We requested a MAC code and did not recieve it, 2 weeks later the service stopped and they will not even speak to me as we buy through a reseller. 3 and a half weks have now passed and even BT cannot help! so I guess I,ll never be able to have B/band again and will probably have to change phone lines, which will result in further cost... Absolutely ATROCIOUS. Would NOT recommend to ANYONE. Traffic shaping, fair-use policies, the works. The "peak times" are awful aswell. 6pm-11pm? NO. More like 8am to 2am the next day! I have been without broadband since 30 dec 2010 and it's now MARCH 4th!! I only stayed because I need the email address.. talk talk took them over.. they have consistantly lied to me. I will be taking legal action to claim back my "fee" they have charged me for NO service. THEY are in breach of contract big time.. ring up their tech staff "yes sir it will be on tomorrow" .. a bunch of liars.. Been with Tiscali for years. Hardly any problems worth a mention.
Since the Talk Talk take over download speed are about 25% of what they were previously.
Customers service and technical support is a joke.
I would never think of using any product associated with these clowns nor recommend them to even my worst enemy.

We have been with Tiscali for several years and have never had cause to complain. Unfortunately we are now leaving after having awful problems with them, I believe this is to do with Talk Talk taking over!Had our internet cut last Thursday and believing we had a problem contacted the technical support who talkem me through fixing it for 1 and a half hours!! Avoid like the plague. Tiscali, Freedom 2 surf or Talk Talk whatever they mascaraed has, keep well well away - you have been warned.

I have now been without my phone for 5 days. I have send emails to the so called "customer service" 6 of, to the so called Technically problems 1 of and finally two to the CEO MR GREEN. Customer since 2005. TalkTalk take over and it is now the No. 1 service to AVOID. Cut off from internet for 10 days now as my account is supposed to be "migrated" to a TalkTalk service .... no warning that I was going to be cut off, no indication from the call centre staff when I will be reconnected, if you really want to feel unwanted sign up today ...NOT.
Do yourself a favour, steer well clear from TalkTalk if you want a broadband service.

Switched over to Tiscali because I thought Orange were a little bit rubbish.
Boy was I wrong. Orange was a shiny golden god of a service compared to the junk I get from Tiscali.
8mb connection is what I pay for, and I am VERY lucky if it runs at 1.2mb. Ever. The PING is terrible, they throttle everything that isn't standard webpage browsing, you call services and talk to the cast of Bollywood. Utterly deplorable

I had been with Tiscali for over 6 years, no problems hence I kept renewing my contract. Talk Talk get involved and now I am leaving them. My bill was 2 weeks overdue (simply due to Christmas costs) and they barred my home phone and cut off the internet. No reminder letter/e-mail, no phone call to remind me, straight to cutting me off. Been with Tiscali for years and never had a problem. In the last month we have had regular loss of service during Monday - Friday (daytime). We have made no progress with customer service who consistently state the problem is within our house - I know it is not. After weeks of frustrated calls we have decided to move and wow Tiscali/ Talk Talk really surpassed themselves. Have to agree with many of the points already made. I have been having consistent problems with the Tiscali Broadband which seems just to drop out and can take hours or even days to re-connect. A friend said the same thing. I am trying to run a Sonos music system through my Ipad which means that when Tiscali is down I cannot surf the net, pick up e-mails or play music. I joined Tiscali some years ago - to be fair they were good and never really experienced any issues. Then Pipex took over and the billing went a bit haywire - but nothing can prepare you for dealing with Talk Talk. I say dealing with but you cannot actually deal with them as they never respond or get back to you.

Originally I was with Toucan who good. They were taken over by Pipex who were just okay. Little did I know that they were soon to be taken over by Talk Talk who are totlaly rubbish: first I noticed line speeds were dropping and that I couldnt get online at peak times of day. Then I noticed they were incorrectly billing my bank account. My emails and letters have gone unanswered for a month despite them owing me money.
They cant be trusted. Avoid them.

tiscali was a good place to be!!! but oh dear renewed with taktalk like all the others i have had nothing but headaches, everthing that can go wrong does,so, net closes without warning or you are unable to open the internet to get on line and you think that its your fault ??? i must have clicked a wrong key, so you try to start again with no luck. got my computor engineer in he did loads of checks took a load of rubbish away and then checked broadband speed 0.23 should be getting up... I previously had broadband from Tiscali and phone from BT. I changed to a Talk Talk package and, on the switchover day, my line was disconnected. Despite 15 calls and several emails to Talk Talk, I could not get reconnected and, after a week gave up and went back to BT. Talk Talk sent me several bills for service I had never received and completely ignored all of the letters I sent them. To be fair to Tiscali I have been with them since around June 2008 and never had one problem. The speed was brilliant and I never once got less than 6500kbps on my 8meg package. I had no problems what so ever using torrents or watching HD content on youtube etc and always got excellent download speeds downloading things from Steam.

Tiscali As with many companies that have off shore call centres they suffer from lack of information between themselves. I have been unlucky enough to be without incoming email or webmail or even the ability to access my account on line since the 3rd of November 2010. I have spoken to their customer services and so called tech guys everyday since, with promises of the service being fixed within 24/48 hours or indeed a promised callback the next day. I would not recommend tiscali to my worst enemy it is a load of rubbish . The speed is really slow and i keep losing Internet connection . Rung customers service up a number of times and we get no where and it cost me Nealy £8.00 in telephone calls to them. I have been with tiscali for Nealy 6 years never had problems with them until talk talk took over . We first got Pipex broadband - fantastic for its time. It was a great deal, but when Pipex was taken over by Tiscali our speed began to falter. THEN Tiscali was taken over by the notorious TalkTalk, renowned for poor customer service and general poor quality.
Needless to say, our connection is now awful. I actually have to pause a one minute youtube video and come back to see if it has loaded a few minutes later. Usually it hasn't.

i too joined tiscali but only to discover that they had sold the BB off to talk talk acouple of months later. Oh my word what a disaster it has turned out to be. where shall i start, staff, many of them do not speak clear english and in addition have a problem understanding my local accent even though i try to speak slower and plainer english. one operator disconnected the call because of it.

I rue the day I agreed to a new contract with TalkTalk after they took over Tiscali. The "service" frequently slows to a snails pace and the email system is abysmal. Since take over by Talk Talk, they have cocked up our direct debit - their bank is refusing to accept payment because they have got their account name so it doesn't match their account number (both provided by them). They also can't take online payment because "the status of your bill cannot be verified" So as all this is somehow our fault they propose to cut us off!!!!! Never, ever, use these cowboys! No emails for the last 10 days and no warning that this was going to happen.
Fobbed off by customer services who promised everything would be sorted 5 days ago.
All this after having connection problems and limited recieved emails several times this year alone.

On 1st Oct. Talktalk cut off my Tiscali Broadband. I spent 2 hrs on phone on 4th Oct. another 2 hrs on 5th Oct. being passed to 14 different numbers. Glad I am not the only one experiencing problems since the migration of tiscali e-mail to talktalk. I have similar problems with trying to access my e-mails. On one occasion it told me that I was banned from receiving any more e-mails until I emptied my mail box, then a few minutes later the next time I logged in it said I was only using 3% of my capability. i am Tiscali customer before. There customer service is so poor and irresponsible. there is no coordination in between departments. sometimes not willing to hear us. there is no toll free number to call them also. they took14 days to find out what was the technical error in there service and not ready to give a compansation also. dont trust the complaint agencies like ofcom. they are mutaly support. thay are least botherd about custmer griveness. thx.
