    I bought an i-phone from Carphone Warehouse and decided to take out the insurance. The phone got damaged. That day the store didn't have a replacement and was told to come back in two days as one would be reserved. It wasn't. They had no replacements and the very nice bloke told me they get up to 200 repairs to deal with in that store every week and only get a handful of spares...so the contract (Geek) which does say 'subject to availability' wouldn't stand up in court as they know the vast majority of people won't stand a chance of getting a replacement.

    Carphone Warehouse Mobile Phone Insurance people are extrememly rude, unhelpful and thieving. They continued to take insurance payment long after the contract had been cancelled and then tried to tell me that I had never made a payment, depite the direct debit appearing on my bank statement every month.

    A few years ago when I lost my Blackberry, I went into a carphone warehouse store, blocked the old phone and walked out with a replacement handset. Oh how times have changed!I lost my phone recently and Carphone Warehouse's new system (sometimes called Geek Squad and sometimes Lifeline) is atrocious.     My wife lost her phone and quite sensibly, to avoid a claim process spent time looking for it before deciding it was lost and putting in a claim with Carphone Warehouse Mobile Phone Insurance.
    At the moment we are in the midst of various letters and emails back and forth as they say she is not covered because she spent too much time looking for the phone before claiming.     When I first took out my phone contract I did ask for the insurance because it was a very expensive phone (Nokia N95 When it fist came out) and I wouldn ' t have been able to replace it myself! So the phone last about 4 months before it started going up the wall and crashing and just being rubbish. I took it in and had to pick my phone back up from the centre in 4 workings days.     I would never use these people again - persuaded to take this insurance as it was better than the carriers.This was so not the case - takes ages to get anywhere and keep delaying by coming back with loads of questions. Just because my phone was left in the back of a cab / barred immediately - it still took 2 visits to the police station 5 phone calls and nearly 3 weeks before i received a replacement.This compared to by flat mate who has orange insurance, dropped his phone in a canal, called ...

    Carphone Warehouse have messed me around on several occasions involving insurance and other matters. I would strongly advise you do not deal with them.

    I lost my phone in the Netherlands whilst on a trip to help my friend decorate his new holiday home. Phoned life line and gave crime no. no problem I have European Cover and my claim was accepted ( glory I hear you say) I was told then I could go to the Dutch version of carphoneware house and pick up my replacement phone.     I received a call from the Insurance Centre two days after purchasing a mobile phone in Carphonewarehouse. I mentioned at least 5 times at the time of buying the mobile phone that i did not intend to get an insurance.
    The caller asked me if everything was fine with my mobile phone, I said yes, and subsequently he asked me if I wanted a headset insurance. I said no and I said I did say it when I was buying the mobile phone and I did not want to be charge any extra for any insurance.

    When my phone went missing while I was at work, I went to the local police station and reported it. after getting all the information needed to make a claim, I called Carphone Warehouse and they said they are waiting for it to be authorised. They told me after I called up and said the claim was unauthorised and I would not be able to get the phone.     I have had 5 business phones registered with Lifeline insurance for over 3 years - I just recently upgraded my phone and was checking on the level of policy on the other 4 phones when I was told that they had all been cancelled.     I have written emails, phoned, been to their shops and by the way I'm not normally a 'Moaner' but it's ridiculous, still haven't received it. I am just about to cancel my policy. Also when I did make a claim for a damaged phone, the replacement phone was the worst mobile I have ever seen - you wouldn't give it to a Child. I ended up using an old phone I had in the cupboard! Please don't use them.

    At no point did this company send me any information about my mobile phone insurance. After paying them for 2 years I contacted them and they told me that if I had made a claim they wouldn't have paid me as I had upgraded to another model of phone with someone else (someone not associated with the Carphone Warehouse). If they had sent me information stating this when I took out the policy I would have know about this. Terrible service! They also offer very uncompetitive prices.

    I purchased my Carphone Warehouse Mobile Phone Insurance policy, and a week later my wife bought one for my daughter. A year later when I tried to cancel mine by phone, I was told it was in my wife's name and they could only speak to her. I informed them that I had all the paperwork in front of me with all my details on it, but to no avail. I was told I had to go to a Carphone Warehouse shop and get them to confirm it was in my name.     I lost my mobile on a Sunday afteroon, imediately CPW processed my claim. All I had to do was go to my nearest Carphone Warehouse to pick up my phone and sim. Pretty good compared to most other insures who make you tell them all your details then send you a form, so you have to fill in all those details again and send it back. Why don't they just let you download the claim form online?!!!

    I dropped my mobile and smashed the screen. I called the insurance number and they said just to take it in store. In store they somehow entered into the system that my phone had faulty software. The "system" in store then said I had to wait 72hrs for a written reply - a wasted journey.
