imhad my phone insured for accidental damage. I'm a joiner and keep my phone in my pocket. I used my phone in the morning , it was fine. Next time I used it it looked like black ink running down the screen. We phoned O2 who put us through to the insurance, I explained what the phone looked like. They asked if I had dropped it or remember doing anything physical to it ,to with I was honest and said no , not to my knowledge. The insurance was refused because I couldn't say it was accidental. On their website they claim 80% of lost phones are replaced in 24 hours, mine has taken 2 days and i am still waiting! Staff are rude and unhelpful. They ask you to fill out different forms an ask you to pretty much gather all their basic information they need when they can do it themselves as they work alongside o2. I'm not talking out my ass. I'm only explaining that unless you state the time and place of the accident and what had happened you cannot claim. Because my husband can't remember doing anything to make the ph.one go this way it's not covered, surely if your unaware of damaging the phone the opposite is accidental

“Broken Replacement”

I received my replacement handset 2 weeks after i had called to say i was unable to switch my phone on. It took 2 weeks to arrive as it was initially "misplaced" after being collected by the courier. Imagine my surprise when i went to turn the replacement on and...nothing, the one i had been sent had exactly the same problem as my old one. A faulty phone is not actually an insurance matter- it is a warranty matter. Are you sure you made an insurance claim? Even if you did, it would be declined as not damaged but faulty.

There is nothing I "like" regarding the O2 insurance, otherwise known as idiots. I have had my contract with them for ten years, with regular upgrades. My phone was stolen, but I considered this not a problem as I have been paying my insurance for ten years. I called up the "geek squad" to be told that my insurance with O2. Dropped phone on Saturday and the screen popped out. It still worked but I was worried about it getting worse so on Tuesday I called to make a claim. This was easy and painless one thing to note is that you won't be offered a courtesy phone while yours is being looked at (not a problem for me but may be for others). O2 insurance is a complete waste of money. I dropped my phone, it cracked, I phoned o2 insure up, got cut off, phoned them up again. I was told to take my phone to an o2 store. “Absolutely Rubbish do not use! ”

I smashed my phone 3 weeks ago (Samsung Mega) and phoned my insurance (O2) they sent me A Samsung note 1 (Completely different phone) anyway that was rubbish kept freezing so i said i wanted another one but this time the same phone i was insured for. I dropped my phone last week I was told I would get a new phone but when it arrived it was a used refurbished phone I was told to read the terms and conditions and it states they can send people a refurbished phone if they wish to I was not told that when I took the policy out so beware i was mislead into taking the policy out thinking i would get a new phone i will be contacting trading standards

“O2 phone insurance read the fine print”

My iphone 4 recently stopped working. I have O2 premium insurance £12.99 per month. I phoned O2 customer care, finally got through to the insurance department and after going through their questions was told that my claim was declined even though my insurance is fully paid up and I am still in contract with O2, because I am covered for theft, loss and accidental damage and not the phone packing up on its own. Bought a samsung galaxy phone, going back 2 odd years now and just found this site. Got water damaged on holiday in pool.
