i went on holiday in a group of 18, and must say that they had something for everyone. the kids entertainment was excellent the crech was lovely as my son loved all the staff. and the restaurant food was lovely as accomadated for everyone. the entertainment was good in the evenings and the rooms were fab. i'm gutted to be home. but am now looking to go back to a holiday village next year. not sure were to go yet. only thing on a negative is that i think that the age gap on the kids club... Been to sun tropical 3 times,thinking of going again in April,not been since 2007,First Choice are not promoting it after April 25 on the internet site,so dont know if its closing down to be refurbished or its just not going to be one of there apat/hotels anymore,there is a new apart/hotel holiday village opened in Playa Blanca,Flamingo Beach resort which is all inclusive only,so this may be the new First Choice holiday village,every time we have been we have had a good holiday,you get what... GREAT PLACE!! The sun tropical was lovely. It is a very large complex but is still very charming and pretty. The pools are great with a choice of Adult friedly ones away from the Kids.Playa Blanca as a resort is very up market and the beach is lush. The complex is only 10 mins walk from the beach and centre. This was mine and my partners best holiday yet. Make sure you go! (read more)

I have just returned from the worse holiday of my life, i was meant to be at the sun tropical for 2 weeks but unfortunatly i could only manage a week of facility problems and bad food. I have been there twice before it which we all loved it, but the standard of the place has gone down and they just dnt seem interested about your views and how unhappy people are. (read more)

It was my first holiday away. I was a bit nervus because i didnt know what to ecspect. when i got to Sun Tropical the people were so welcoming. They gave us a list of things that were going on in the week. The food was really nice . The pools were really clean and there was alot for activities on for kids to enjoy.on a night time you can go to the dome, they have shows that can entertain you and you're family. I absolutally love sun-tropical it had lots to do and the staff were very friendly. The entertainment was the best ever and the food was lovely. the pools were great and it was situated in a nice spot. The room was very nice a little bit small but i loved it. Had good holiday at Sun Tropical in July 09. Loved the resort of Playa Blanca where we spent most of our nights. Used the holiday village facilities during the day. Was impressed by the separate swimming pools at each block of apartments, however our only complaint was the amount of broken sunbeds around the pools which never improved during our stay. We were self catering and found the selection in supermarket poor. This was an important factor as it took 10-15 mins to nearest supermarket... (read more)

Arrived in Playa Blanca, Holiday Village Sun Tropicalresort on 26th march and stayed for two weeks. The first week the place was fairly deserted which was great as the kids clubs entertain the kids every day and they were more than happy to go which helped the parents relax. I went to Holiday Village Sun Tropical last February with my wife and 2 kids and it was brilliant. Very clean and quiet, staff were very friendly. Plenty to do and see. I hired a car for 2 days in the lobby of the hotel and went all over the island and it was fantastic. I would advise anyone to do it. We're going back in July... Excellent holiday. With 5 Swimming pools we were spoilt for choice. The daytime reps were great fun with plenty to do for the kids. The evening Entertainment was very poor, almost like Butlins but worse. Lifting apples banana's & oranges out of a hat behind there back & getting the crowd to guess which fruit!! Boring!! Overall had a great time, 20 mins from marina & 15 mins from main restaurants. Just arrived home from a week at Sun Tropical, self catering. The pools are fab and the supermarket friendly and value for money. The apartment was one of the best equipped I have stayed in. The maid cleaned the room to a high standard every day. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The only down point was the walk to the restaurants and the beach in the blazing hot sun, but once there, is well worth it. Good choice of food in the restaurants overlooking the beech. Fabulous View.

We went to this holiday village last April (07), I've got to say that it was the worst holiday I have ever been on...the weather was terrible, a big mix up with the rooms which meant waiting in reception for 3 hours till the staff got it sorted. Myself and my husband stayed in Sun Tropical over Christmas. We really recommend it, especially if you had kids. I agree with the other reviewers who recommended the Nags Head over Paddy Mac's bar. The staff who run the bar are very friendly and the breakfast is the best. They also do evening meals (they stop serving at 9.30). (read more)

We wen't for Xmas and New Year and had a lovely time. Place kept very clean and tidy with lovely pools and gardens.
Staff very pleasant and First Choice staff available every day if needed.We didn' t need them.
In Playa Blanca on the seafront is a wonderful Indian restaraunt calle Spices.Food and service top class.
In town,upstairs above Paddy Mac's Bar is the Nags Head. You could easily miss it.Lovely couple run it and sells John Smiths on Draught and the best breakfast in Playa Blanca.

Everything in the village is close by, reps always in reception to give advise and help. Staff friendly and helpful. No they do all food, British, Spanish and other too, a lot people from our hotel went there that was self catering, also their deserts are lovely too :)

Overall, if you eat out of the resort it was an excellent place to holiday. I really do recommend it, I have already been telling friends and family to book up. It's set in a beautiful part of the island, which is calm and friendly (although I was there in April, I don't know how it would be in August). Sun Tropical was fantastic, a holiday that myself, my husband and our two children, aged 6 and 9 years, haven't stopped talking about since! The Sun Tropical Holiday Village in Lanzarote is a great place for families, with great swimming pools and friendly staff.
The entertainment was a bit Butlins-like, but there was no noise, like music thumping all over the place, that you would find in some so-called family resorts. It was just a nice relaxing holiday.
It was a wonderful family holiday, and I am booking there again for next year.

I was at Sun Tropical July 05. We all thought it was fantastic, great value for money. My 12yr daughter say's its the best place she's been, she went to the wave club every day doing different thing from snorkling ,canoeing,games singing just having fun. Good holiday and I think it would be great for those people with kids as well. Holiday Village Sun Tropical had landscaped gardens surrounding it, but there are also some with large kids playthings as well, so I am glad we had a bit of peace and quiet. We liked the top floor room, nice view of Timanfaya as well. If possible, hire a car if staying in Playa Blanca, as it is a bit away from a lot of the noisier resorts, we found driving very easy. Self-catering facilities were OK, had everything we needed (kettle, toaster). 1-bedroom apartment was specious with nice balcony overlooking the pool, very clean. Staff at reception was friendly, First Choice holiday reps were OK. We visited the Dome only once - it's like being in Butlins - very tacky.
